Fully agree. If they already did something - that mean they have the real team, something can without investment. If you've never heard about ICO with the released product does not mean that they do not exist Grin

Hah, true =)

This is my new rule for 2018. I want to see actual substance in the ICO community instead of what we have. Even if they are simple projects i'd choose those over these "change the world" projects that overcommit from the beginning. There is a cool US based one that's like AirBnB for vehicle storage. https://stowittoken.com
Actual substance within the ICO?
Unless they have a product that is working already there is nothing but pictures/text on their website.

I support your ideas. There have been many projects that have come up and when I checked their timeline and roadmap, they revealed that they conceptualized the project barely less than two months. The idea may look fantastic in theory but they're nearly impossible to actualize.

There are ICOs as well that uses the investments just to stsrt their company or whatever project they have, which is a good thing. Existing platforms that created coins for their products are the best of course, but others can be useful as well. Just research on the stuff the you need to before investing on anything.

i agree sometime because we never knew if the promising ICO is a scam it is better to be sure so we can know what we will invest and not but the crypto world is a risk taking world so it is up to you

When you invest in no-product ICO you give your money on product development and you support dev team which tries to change the world(if you choose the right project). If the project already has product - why they need to handle ICO? What is the point? With product they can get money easier and another way

I agree. If the guys already have a working product that makes a profit, then they do not need to carry out the ICO to raise funds. Sometimes it seems to me that having a finished product is simply an advertising trick to collect more money.

Yeah, better invest in icos that already have a working product or at least a decent demo of what they are gonna do. It's miles better than waiting for a long time until they release their alpha version and wait more until the commercial release. If there's demo then at least the team prepare a lot for the ico and serious about their project.

If project is ready a company will start generate revenue soon

I also think it's better to invest in ICO projects with a ready-made product and try to do so.
In recent months such projects have been CyberMiles, PlayKey, CarTaxi, Uservice. Of the existing ICO projects, I now know about Friendz.

If the team does not have a product, but there is a good idea, it does not mean that nothing will come of it. There are so many smart people with good ideas. But they do not have the finance to implement these ideas. But the fact that there are very few such projects is a fact.

True!

The most important thing to check when investing is the ICO product.
Other than that - I also check community size and how much was invested so far, But - The product or product idea is the best guideline to follow when investigating new ICO.

The ico equipped with a product is more reliable but not means it is secure. An app is easy to build and u should check it overall.

I partially agree with you, as product gives an idea how the team is capable to deliver the vision. However, blockchain and most of the projects are entering a young industry where talented are limited and they need resources to execute it well. I love projects with a solid product, but I also like investing in good teams.

I fully agree with you. Why would a person invest in a project which doesn't have any product and wants to raise millions of dollars. A project should atleast have a MVP so as assure the investors that its team has already started working and has a beta for the product.

Yes working product or Minimum Viable Product should be own by all ICO so they will get trust from their investor and their community, and not only plan in whitepaper. Working product is a prove if they are will serious to more development the project.

I agree they are high risk ones, but they are also of high returns.
For example, ETH, EOS, NEO and ADA

As much as ICO with existing product and service are worthy of investment, project with solid idea and  capable developer should not be ignore either. Some of the most successful company are those company that has winning idea and better service. We should not be close minded when it comes to taking calculated risk that could lead to good profit.
