If I buy altcoins that don't even have wallets like agoras or maidsafe, how im supposed to not keep them at the exchange if its the only way to hold them?

Also I need some btc in exchange for quick movements, i cant wait for transactions.

This is one of the problem that you can't avoid.  Having a coins that don't have a wallet at all where you can save in your computer.  There is no other way but to leave it on exchange and pray that exchange will exist until  you have sold or wallet is available for your coins.  And the thing that we want to buy something yet it is not yet filled is also unavoidable.
I don’t know why anyone would want to do that. I’m assuming they don’t care if they lost all there coins, but then again how many hackers are going to want to hack for altcoins when they are hardly used?

yes i am agree with putting all coins in exchange is really risky.
of course it is really risky, the bitfinex hack showed us that it is really risky to hold your bitcoins on an exchange because it can be stolen

I agree with this  many exchanger cannot be trusted my friend already send coin to other exchange but there is no coin receiving in her wallet,  Angry always take care when you send your coin to other exchanges.

If that has heppened to your friend, then he must contact the exchange in question as something could be wrong. Also, what is the exchange he sent his coins to? If he sent his coins to a shitty/shady exchange, then it's for a big part his own fault.

I trust bittrex and polo, they don't have any issues or scam case within 2-3 years.

yes, we all trust bittrex and polo
and also we have all trusted bitfinex, cryptsy and also mtgoxx but now look what happened to all those exchanges.

it is not a matter of trust you see.

Yes i agree, we easily trust them since our funds and coins are at there and we wouldnt even know when those trusted sites would be hacked by anybody or just an inside job i guess. As of now we must accept  the risk  regarding to our coins   when they are still on exchanges btw   all investment have risk afterall.

Never keep your coins on some exchange site, never invest your money in cloud mining services, never gamble all in. For sure there is couple more rules that people need to follow if they wish to not lose their money fast. I'm wonder often how many sheep's and wolf's there is on this forum, too many obviously. I don't get how they trust and believe in some services that are proven to be frauds, sooner or later.
Well I think there will be always sheep's and wolfs around, we can't do nothing to change that.

You can do lot of changes in yourself that will safe you from this sheeps and wolfs, like, keep the limit for every day play and dont exceed your limit , always control your greed if you lost the limit for that day just leave it and join next day
And never ever trust if anyone is telling some income method which is highly not possible because because genuine income only comes in low profit.

and it is really true that keeping all coins in one exchange will make you cry if the exchanges get hacked or they start to scam. better to withdraw when you dont have any coins to buy or else keep only 20% of you bitcoin bankroll.

Not a matter of trust.Matter of stupidity for day traders to keep their coins in an exchange's wallet. No exchange asks you to do that either. It's the irony, all the exchange attacks are always inside jobs.I wonder if this is decided within the four walls.Only way we can fight back is by awareness.

Maybe those event happen on mtgox and now bitfinex has opened some eyes for those big whales who usually put some huge amount of btc in their exchanger wallets so they will not get compromised if it will be hit by those hackers,  maybe theirs inside job happened their(Who knows) but i think the best thing we could do to counter measure this thing is to not put our wealth on one basket so if other exchanger will compromise well we can still have another money left in our risky pocket.

My honest opinion:
A lot of people are either greedy or stupid, mostly both.
If somebody puts his savings into cloudmining an loses the money, I feel no pitty for that person.

Exactly. If you are a bitcoin holder, hold them in your core wallet installed in your own pc. That's the best option. If that's too heavy for your system, use electrum. If you don't trust electrum, use paper wallet. Exchanges come and go. You never know which one will be goxed next.

Now Gox is a verb.  Grin They are all saying to keep it in a core. But there are a lot of small bitcoin users who dont know that and still using bitcoin wallet exchange sites. Those are the people that should be reached out to tell them "use this it is better and safer".
Those exchanges will be having a problem on scamming people with just a little in their pockets.

Surely you will never want to keep all your coins in one place. If someone gets access to you wallet, unfortunately you may have funds taken from you. The wise thing to do is to keep it in different locations, taking all necessary security measures.
I know about that, before thinking continuously about someone can get access into my wallet, just think about moving my funds into my offline wallet is really make me confused because it's too long. but keep or not my funds if wallet i think that is not problem if i have my private keys.

Don't put all tour coins in these exchanges still you'll never know when they will declare they were hacked.
Trusted members don't even trust blockchain wallet when it has been up since the start.

I also do the same it was a lesson for all of us who often kept their money in exchanges, and those online wallets which do not have any good review or history are also not good for keeping our bitcoins in there , as they also can be hacked.
even there is some people used an exchange as their online wallet lol ,

as bitcoin wallet is private , you should not tell and held your private key to anyone ,
by storing bitcoin in third party like an exchange and other online wallet which you did not hold the private key , you are just giving away your bitcoin.
Private key has always become a general things before you're wanna for saving your money in a place, and maybe I know if you are trader and anytime you don't have a time for moving your funds into your wallet but for the normal people is not a traders and keep their money in exchange site. stupid ever.
I had lost my private see keys, not the key to acess and the wallet had some balance inside, i got pissed to had lost those. I do trust poloniex in fact they have now 80% from the bitcoins i own, but im happy with them and i dont believe they will scam or let any hacket take the business down.
