Created a P2Pool (modified by Gerco) mining server for the faucet Smiley

5% fee on pool, half of it goes to the faucet's funds.

Pointed my 404Mh/s at the pool and we solved a block almost instantly!

Thanks Cheesy I hope this catches on, because it lets people donate to the faucet (which has the potential to increase the value of BTE (e.g the more people have the coins, the more people use the coins)) without actually getting any less profit than a regular pool Smiley

Awesome, Got 55MH/s so far, only 922.4 days until we find a block!

EDIT: Currently 255MH/s, improving quite a lot Cheesy

EDIT: 1.7GH/s, I'm hoping that the rate keeps going up Smiley

so is this a carbon copy of bitcoin or did they make changes?

Pretty much just a carbon copy Tongue

Obviously address prefix changes, etc, but nothing major was changed

awesome i want some then! i have for a while seen this as the most practical solution to bitcoins scalability problem.

If anyone wants to run their own pool node, here is the source code:
https://github.com/gerco/p2pool

The p2p aspects of this code have been largely disabled in the network definition so you'll have to provide seed servers and/or an irc # for the nodes to find each other. I didn't bother to do either so my pool doesn't participate in a network until someone sets that up Smiley

Thanks, I was thinking of creating a mining pool which supports the Bytecoin Faucet Smiley

Try solo mining for 24 hours then just Pool mine, I was getting blocks every few seconds when the coin launched  Grin

Now every few hours.

Nearly have 10,000 of these things, I shall put the wallet somewhere safe and forget about it till the coin dies or makes money.
