But it hasn't held a $1000 price tag for a continuous 72-hour period.

It failed to do this in 2013 and it failed to do this a month ago.

But if it lasts about 4.5 more hours, it will finally succeed in this regard.

the price is getting up and down too often and its good to see the fluctuation like this and for the traders, they can make decent of profit because if we see the price is fluctuation, there is many chance for us to do trade in a day and we can expecting to make profit. and yes, i think its a new record for us that reach $100 in february 2017.

$200 is a very huge range even for bitcoin!
and price has been staying above $1000. the temporary mini dump that happened once or twice are just it, a mini dump and temporarily corrects itself. and as time passes while staying above $1000 this price support is becoming stronger.
and the range which we have right now is between $980 bottom and $1050

well yes mate, after we see much greater from its previous record of 1100$ we can say that we are in good form and possible to reach more, just needed to keep assessing the price and try to short so if there's some downtrend we can buy it and hold to then sell it when price really rocket high its the good way to earn from this fluctuations.

OP I am still doubtful. Bitcoin is so volatile that we can see it go down to $800 in a matter of minutes like we did in the past. Sure hold your breath but also expect the worst. I have been thru so much disappointment with Bitcoin and it has made me numb no matter how high or low it goes. I just buy whenever I think the price is low.

slow is better than fast increase.... when it increases too fast, it would drop hard.

One of the good indicators of bitcoin making progress is the fact that we are staying at 1000+ for days now and everytime we approach 1000, it goes up again. Doubters seem to be getting nervous and they are getting in when it gets close to 1000.

So we hit a new record? We have been at 1000+ since Feb 2th.
