I don't understand why I keep getting these comments. I made this to help newbs. Newbs don't have merit to give. I can't farm merit from people who don't have any merit and as you see I haven't received much merit, yet I still am adding to this thread weekly.

I do agree it is upsetting that when people see something like my thread they look at it skeptically. If I do something to help someone get more merit, and then later on they decide they want to give me some merit for helping them, isn't that what the system is for? I help people save time and energy and they can decide if that is worth a merit or not. Am I missing something?
You are missing a point since the start of the topic, more exactly since the original ideas and objectives of the topic lighted in your head. That's why your topic have not received positive feedback from readers.

Now i get it, compile stuff that are already posted with the same topic for the sake of lazy users who dont want to jump from one thread to another,  this will harvest more merit (hopefully) nice try op, but hey folks, this is what merit system has made us, if not, enlighten me, the thread is informative but the intention is cloudy. Though your effort precedes you,. Anyway thanks for this thread.

Actually some of this tips might work, but it'll take a lot of time, before you figure out how everything works here.
Still the best way to earn merit is to create a useful content, but to understand what is really useful, you'll need a couple of months of active reading
Right! Forum newcomers should spend their valuable time to discover structures of the forum and its operational mechanism, its rules, its ranking system, its merit system (of coures, the system has been extremely hot after launched).
By the way, I give you link to topic of iasenko, who ranked up several days ago to Full Member due to his intensive efforts to contribute to the forum through dozens of constructive, helpful threads and topics. Spend your time to read and learn from this guy's experiences.

I seriously hope a new rule to be applied: Newbies making threads about "Merit" = InstaPermaBAN
Should have strict rule like this in order to keep merit system works as one of powerful tools to control spammers to rank up, and to reduce spamming threads/ topics in the forum; to prevent the scenario of turning to 'shitshow forum' (sorry for these bad words, but I would like to emphasize this point). Several boards which designed only for serious discussions are un-allowable for low ranked users.

Isnt this the n-th thread about a newbie coming for the first time to the "Meta" section of the forum after their daily posting in bounties to talk about the merit system and hope to get some merits?

What else do you people do? Refresh your own "Merit Page" every 2minutes to check which kind-hearted Merit source dropped some merits on you for making "An extremely thread" - attempts at which has been made n-number of times in the last 3 months.

I seriously hope a new rule to be applied: Newbies making threads about "Merit" = InstaPermaBAN

Huh? I wrote this thread a month ago btw. I did it to help weed out the good threads about merit from the bad ones. But hey, ya'll merit thread haters won't even read what I wrote, or look at the timestamp before shooting off some jerkoff comments about how annoyed you are that a noob might use *your* forum.

Did a merit source once give you some merit for complaining about all the merit threads?

Lol, it's too harsh, I know how it feels mate I'm always checking meta section and everyday merit merit is all I see, some of the newbie that ask for merits are just wannabe newbie, I am not to good in compiling evidences but I really discern that some are alt accounts who acts like they are intelligent and then lure their original accounts. I'm not pointing anybody here I am just stating what I observe.

Those thread compiled are the post of real intelligent people. Who make an useful way to earn merit rather than begging or doing some illegal stuff.

Good for the Topic author. Getting merit fast, then destroying account faster by his/herself.
There are no chances to get merit by doing such boring, and annoying stuff (only naively generous users send their sMerits to such a thread - OP thread)

Please keep doing this because I will feel very happy to see spammers stucked at low-ranked. They don't deserve to rank up and should not rank up without contribution to the forum.

Three ignores from this thread, and I've just added crypto-maniac for quoting the uncut post as well.

The first one was for creating yet another great long formatted post, that probably contains the same tired old info that is all the other threads. The other three were for making the thread unmanageable by quoting the OP in full, and not adding any detailed specifics.

Some more people that won't get merit from me because of their board pollution.

So you want to earn merit (as fast as possible!)

After a few days skulking the Meta section I realized a few important things:

#1 A huge portion of the Hero/Legendary crowd honestly care about the merit system. They are making it work, and they are more than happy to teach you.

First of all I must thank you for taking some time out to create these important threads related to merit system. However I would like to give some suggestions:

1) You have formatted all links in a way that it looks cluttered. Try to differentiate them with different bold headings.

2) Another thing required here is that you should cover all thee related threads in a particulate heading. For instance, if you are making a heading called list of giveaways, it should contain all those thread links. There are more than 15 running currently and you listed only a few.

3) As mentioned in above comment, you should not include a thread that has in not updated or closed.

where's the guide to earn merits as fast as possible? you just compiled everything merit related that had good replies which can be seen from the meta's page 1-5. i was totally deluded by your title, you could've just said comments about these good posts.

And the best part is that he did not even check if all those threads are open or not. He added those giveaways which are closed as well like this https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/merit-giveaway-for-jr-members-and-newbies-2843413 .

However, seeing that he is still a junior member, I still appreciate the time he took to compile the posts as one place. There is no way to gain merits fast. In my opinion, you should be fine with your current pace, there is no need to hurry about it. Gaining knowledge and Shari ideas with members should be your primary purpose here, merits will follow.

It is you guys that can not take the message he brought. With all that sources/thread you can not take any hints on how to make merit fast? i will tell you :
1. There are statistic about where people get merits, then, you should come after the merits there and post your quality posts there.
2. Look into any thread which the OP get a lot of merits, OP in this thread is saying that you can make thread like them too because idea to make contribution is everywhere and can be anything, you just can not read the message from OP here.
3. Some of the merit giveaway thread is closed? great then it means people already giveaway the merits and you can see all the merited posts and try to learn from all of that.

Still can not accept that is some way to gain merit fast or at least at a normal rate??? This is a forum man, sometimes people spoon feeding you, sometimes you need to take the hint.
