ok, however seems like I've made more than 5 posts, waited more than 10 minutes and still nothing. what now?? I'll appreciate any help, since I'm in a hurry right now!!
You have to be 'active' on the forum for at least 4 hours. Very easy to accomplish with a certain Firefox extension.

Me too - but I think the BitCoin Forum got a reasonable policy here!
Sounds reasonable but is really to bad for someone like me who just wants to start using the forums! 
ok, i'm glad i read this topic. i was wondering why i couldn't reply to any post and now i know.
I think more forums need these restrictions, weed out some of the damn bots that spam all over the place.

Hoping to PM someone, but I agree with the rules.
Definitely some very sensible rules to keep things under control. This is something other large forums should implement.

I also run an SMF forum, though not bitcoin related. Hopefully this forum is using a plugin to prevent spam bots. I've had 100% success with my forum in keeping them out.
