Ya know, all these people bitching about the 5 post/4 hour limitation cap need to chill. It would probably benefit you all to take a few hours and soak in the information here, listen/read and keep your mouth shut.  Just cuz you're not a newbie to BitCoining, you're still a newbie here.  Take some time to examine the forum and see how it operates. My guess is the owners don't want you here period if you aren't willing to do that.

I won't be bothering with five posts, I'll just use another forum.

I only joined to answer a question that is directly relevant to me, and this retarded "newbie" system means I'd have to spend potentially hours waiting to do so.

Get your act together and fix this BS; it's unbecoming of a forum associated with such an important technology.

Incidentally, yes. There are Irish users of Bitcoin. You'll find them in your local hacker/makerspaces. But the OP won't know that now, will he? Nice forum.

I don't think that the required 5 posts is a good idea.  It just forces to post useless stuff.

The time restriction is fine.  People should read the forum before posting.

Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts.

Ok, thanks Smiley. Glad to be on here to learn abut the world of bitcoin.

No worries mate, Welcome to bitcoin Wink

Okay, well.... I was going to try to be somewhat discreet and use PMs, but since this system only lets me post in newbie areas...

Check this out, and let me know if you think you can design a pcb for these, so that maybe we could bring the cost of an fpga miner down to a competitive price:

Unfortunately, it's not actual time spent, it's logged time.

Look at the top-right of the forum. You should see the date and time, and either a [ + ] next to it, on the right, or a [ - ].  Make sure it's a minus, and then you can see your total logged time on the left, along with your avatar (if any).

Good system, though it lowers my chance for a topic in the marketplace.  Undecided

I think a moderation system would generally be better than making everyone do five pointless posts.

If everyone had a bury button, spammy and trolly posts would simply go out of sight.

Ive run several forums in the past, and i find self moderation does a great amount of good, but you do need at least 1 or 2 real moderators.
