I suppose this makes sense.  Heh, I wish I'd noticed this section of the forums sooner though, I've already spent many hours going through the various parts of the mining section.

All good though, I'll get to know people and such, socialize...

Decent enough set of rules and usually wise due the amount of viagra sales that seem to fund the internetz

Oh, wow!

I'm delighted to find that I have just one hour and 30 minutes before I become an "established" member!

I feel so fancy.

 Cool

...Well, I will in another 1.5 hours of login time.

 Smiley

lol...4 hours seems like a lot at first, but once you start reading everything about the ins and outs of bitcoin, it goes pretty fast

This is a unique idea for discouraging spammers. I run a couple of forums that could use it. Will have to look into how to implement it there.

Hmm, a little annoying but reasonable.  I just wish I had made an account earlier, I could have met the four hour mark a long time ago.  One post down, four to go  Grin

Thank you for the fast explanation. I read way more than four hours already on this forum, but I use to show all posts rather than showing pages. That was my fault I guess.

So I'm four hours online, whats wrong?

Four hours as recorded from the perspective of the forum server.  If you are not browsing, you time out and the server won't count the time after that.  If you just browse randomly or too fast, the server might flag you as a bot.  So searching the forums and learning about Bitcoin takes at least four hours of active browsing.

You will also need a few more posts.

Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts.

If you have really good posts, you can post a request for preemptive whitelisting in the appropriate topic.

Also:
- You must have made one post in order to send PMs.
- You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.
- You need 50 posts to put an image in your signature.

Note that it may take up to 10 minutes for your PM or posting permissions to be granted.

Great restrictions, there are other sites that I wish would do the same

I just registered to make some suggestions in another thread and I have to go through this garbage?  Ridiculous.
