Great news, I love how they added the btc background banner on the homepage and some information on btc. Newegg gets millions of unique visitors monthly, surely this will get some more people curious about bitcoin.

Need Apple to change their stance on mobile wallet and payment application.

I think they did.  There is a Coinbase app now that looks like it sends and receives though I haven't used it.

They announced at WWDC that they would be allowing bitcoin apps I believe. Or at least in-app purchases with it.

Didn't Overstock send the price up by $100 or something?  Newegg news is way bigger

I don't remember the price moving that much on the Overstock news.

No it's hype buying.

Technically speaking - the more liquidity in Bitcoin the more the price will decline.  Merchants, when they get their hand on BTC, will dump to get $Fiat to pay their overhead, employees and taxation obligations.  Newegg does $25 billion in revenue but only has like $22 million in net income, so any BTC they get they'll be dumping within minutes.

It's no coincidence that after the Silkroad was busted that Bitcoin went way up, as there was no where to spend BTC but demand was persistent so the price went way up.

here's another one announcing it's going live (autumn) with Bitcoin !

This is today.

http://online.wsj.com/article/PR-CO-20140701-906106.html

Main engine ignition.

Expedia , Flowers , Newegg and the price is actually going backwards.
This happens when the price is decided by a few traders and whales and not by usage.

wait, how is it going backwards? few day's ago we were in the low 600's. today we near the 650's.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4811N22567

Aww, decided to celebrate and get my dog a toy, but apparently you can't use bitcoin on anything.  I can't checkout with bitcoin with the above item.
I'll give you one guess why that might be.

Hint:

Yea I saw that, but then checked some other toys as well. None of them had bitcoin as an option.  Guess howie doesn't get a celebratory toy Sad

Holy crap!  Newegg accepting bitcoin is absolutely huge.  I imagine it won't be too much longer before Amazon starts accepting bitcoin as well now.  Can you say domino effect?
Amazing i didn't know this NewEgg store, they have beautiful prices and offers, i assume this page accepting cryptocurrencies will surely increase it's sales like Overstock did...

Indeed pretty amazing you didn't know about newegg Smiley.
But now , I wonder , newegg has store in China. Will they accept bitcoin from customers in China also Smiley ?

Not if you aren't in the US or UK.  They don't exist anywhere else.

(OK, and China.  It's illegal to sell items for bitcoins in China, so probably not.)

It is ?
I thought that selling and buying products was not banned in that god forsaken country.

Well, for sure no items can be listed for sale in a bitcoin price.  It may be possible for them to accept bitcoin, but AliBaba was made to stop when they so much as hinted at it, so most likely no.

Wow this is huge! They have such large market share that this will drive other merchants to start accepting btc also, otherwise be left in the dirt. I'm surprised that TigerDirect actually beat them to accepting btc. Now... only if we can get Amazon to also accept it.
For the sake of my wallet, please god, no!!!!

What is really great is that they have not just started accepting it, but they are educating people about it too

This really is great news, could it be the reason why btc prices hit $660 since yesterday?

I wonder whose next amazon, PayPal(scratch that f**ck PayPal), ebay, walmart...

I want paypal more then anything.

I'm starting to think maybe "paypal" wont take btc, what they may be doing though is trying to purchase bitpay! Wink

Just a hunch!

Holy cow. I thought it would be a bit longer before they implemented it - guess Overstock accepting it was a big turning point for them. Well it's nice to see more major retailers takig Bitcoin seriously, the more merchants there are the more consumers will be interested in it and possibly begin using it.

I think it was more of TigerDirect accepting it.

Well, they are your kids, I guess you know what they are worth.  I figured most people would be willing to kick down a few more bucks when investing in their own flesh and blood.
I can't speak for anyone else, but personally I am willing to invest $0 in mini-me narcissistic clones. That's why I got a vasectomy, which was free. It was the second best decision of my life (after my pre-China Bitcoin investment).

Now I'm having loads of raw sex with my bombshell girlfriend and we are fluid bonded. Honestly RawDog, sex feels so much better without a condom.

Who is going to take care of you when you get old?
When I am too old to care for myself, I'll take that as a hint that it's probably time to embrace the sweet release of death. Although my girlfriend IS 6 years younger than me, I have no illusions about the permanence of monogamous relationships.

Monogamy is totally unnatural for Homo Sapiens, after all.
