Is it just me or does the site say 0 speed for the pool hash rate? Hopefully that is not true with a 5 btc reward on a block find.

Thank you Spiker for posting that info. I hadn't looked at my emails for a while.

5 BTC is a massive incentive. I hope it will temp some of the bigger miners over.

Edit: Nexious - Its a great gesture and a lot of money out of your pocket. I think it goes to show how serious you are about this pool.

Today I received newsletter
" Hello spiker777,

Due to a bit of lack of interest of the 1BTC block finder bonus and rise in BTC price I have decided to run a promotion. For the next 7 days I am offering out of my own pocket a 5BTC bonus for the first Bitcoin block finder!! Along with 0% fees now is a great time to start mining at Nexious and have a chance at getting an extra 5BTC. This is only for the first Bitcoin block found and will run for the next 7 days. If no block is found in 7 days I will still honour the 1BTC bonus. After the first block is found the standard 1% fee will resume (unless you signed up during the 0% fee for life promotion). So let your friends and family know and let's get that first block!
Regards,

Yeah... sorry to disappoint you torepia, but unless nexious has a very large bankroll or he feels like dumping a bunch of coins into the pool to make sure everyone is paid, chances are extremely good he's not going to implement any PPS.  It's too big a risk.  As kano pointed out, even with a bankroll of 250BTC in reserve, there's still over an 81% chance of bankruptcy even if the pool charges users 5% fee.

This is pretty much spot on, unfortunately I don't have he capital to fund the start up of a PPS pool and a few of 2.5% would just be too risky also hence why there aren't too many pools still around with that low fee for PPS if any.

Sorry but it's just not viable at this stage Sad

100% understandable! ^^

How about implementing PPS @ 2-2,5% fee?  Kiss

If a PPS pool charges a 5% fee, and at any point in time, (only) has a reserve of 250BTC, then the chance of eventual bankruptcy is ... ~81.9% without paying BTC into the pool by the operator.
a 2.5% fee would be higher of course

I can have a look at tweaking the Vardiff a little so the variance swings aren't as big, but try a fixed port first to see if you get better results.

Let me know if you have any issues.

yea used the vardiff, i could try one of the fixed ones. wich it better for antminer s3?

I have an S3 pointed to port 3333. You will need to leave it and it will settle down but you may find that the nature of VarDiff it will adjust.

I have also tried port 3334 (Fixed Diff: 512) and found that to be very stable.

Edit: Just logged on to my S3 and it shows a Diff of 1958 and an average hash of 454 GH/s. (This is on port 3333).
If you are looking at the worker stats on the Nexious web front end then it may look as though the hash rate is going up and down as it may  not be showing the average rate over the same set time.
