I learned about Bitcoin, but it's too late.

That is your opinion, but you cannot know that. No one knows what the future holds.

But as history tells us, bitcoin killer will emerge one day.

That is wrong. History tells us that many have tried but none have succeeded.

I hope this post becomes a legend.

I doubt that.

I am a high school student. I learned about Bitcoin, but it's too late. I was so young. Because I was 4 years old in 2009. But as history tells us, bitcoin killer will emerge one day. I want to find out such coin, but I don't have enought knowledge and ability to do that.. I want to ask the smart people here. Is there a coin that is similar to Bitcoin now? something that is perfectly decentralized. I want to invest there. If there's a coin you're making, is fine too. Just let me know. I hope this post becomes a legend.
As a high school student, you're young, and you might be more vulnerable to being fooled or scammed. Do not be hasty and impulsive, especially when it comes to investments. Stay neutral in your approach to your feelings and decisions. Make sure to familiarize yourself with and verify the legitimacy of projects. There's no "next Bitcoin" currently in existence, but let's also not close our minds to the potential of other developers who's eager to solve problems that Bitcoin currently cannot solve

It is just very funny to me how curious you are to find a coin just like you have explained like a Bitcoin killer that would dominate the market. For now I don't think that kind of coin has been created so far. There is no such kind of coin so you should be ready to invest in Bitcoin or any other coin in the  market.

Bitcoin is the major force of the market now and there is no coin that can be compared to Bitcoin in regard to market cap, volatility, holders and so on. Maybe when that time comes we are going to know what the coin would be but you should try your best to learn about the market so that you understand how the crypto market works and see if you can create that kind of coin you think will be Bitcoin killer.

Do not regret what you have not gained or lost control of, instead try to make out things with the resources you have now. I mean, if you have judged the potential of BTC then you might not have asked for another BTC or similar coin having the same potential that BTC has. Because, those who have realized the potential of BTC are still not going to leave it and have accumulated it for years. Even the ones who get their hands on BTC at an early age are still holding those BTCs.

Did you not think about that for another second? Do not make decisions in FOMO and try to listen to every POV and then decide what you have to get with what resources. Because if a person tells you that there is a coin that has similar potential that BTC has then You will spend all of your money on that in FOMO and in the end, you will lose everything.

So it is best to get some idea about BTC and how things work here.

OP from your comment I was wondering if truly you know what you are talking about because you would not be asking such question and trying to find out if there is any comparison with bitcoin out there. To make the point clear mate there is no other coin competing or compared with bitcoin as far as blockchain is concerned. Bitcoin is the first decentralized digital currency that was founded by satoshi nakamoto for that reasons it was termed the Genesis block

As a matter of fact, you are never late to adopt bitcoin. Bitcoin is still at its early adopter stage and as such holds more potentials and price value in time to come.

You can read about the Genesis block here

I need to correct something here, Genesis block is the first transactioned block in Bitcoin; Bitcoin is not called the genesis block but we can call it the birth of cryptocurrency. Genesis Block was moved from Satoshi to Hal Finney. Hope I helped OP.

Just as others have said, there is no coin that is as completely decentralized as Bitcoin.
There are other coins in the cryptocurrency space, but they are not decentralized, although you can trust some of them at your own risk.

And there is no history that says that there is a coin that is a Bitcoin killer; if you have proof for that, you can provide it here for more clarification.

Since you are looking for another coin to invest in since you are thinking that Bitcoin will soon die, it means you want to make quick money in cryptocurrency, but I want you to know that that is the only coin you can trust with less risk, but others are good as well if you did your research and feel satisfied with them, but know that there is a very high risk in such an investment, so be prepared.

There is a coin similar to bitcoin and they are all fork from bitcoin, but they are mostly garbage. Coins like Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin cash, Bitcoin SV and check them all, they have not live to their potential because they are scams. There are improve altcoins that are built on bitcoin source code like LTC but improved on the confirmation timing, it's better but what difference does it make so far with bitcoin, not even price growth comes near to bitcoin.

You want to make quick cash because you think bitcoin cannot give you that again but remember, quick money comes with high risk. There are altcoins in the market you can look up to but just know that they are very volatile, easy to grow in price through pump but the day they want to fall, you will love bitcoin more than you are trying to look for alternatives coins. So think twice and check what happened to some of the top altcoins last year.

Do you mean you are just learning about bitcoin and it's already too late? The bitcoin price might be higher than when it was introduced to you, but if you have plans to invest in bitcoin, then this is another opportunity. Don't be discouraged by the current price, if you don't invest now, you might end up regretting in the future why you didn't invest in bitcoin because you think the price is already high. I can't say  what the  price of bitcoin  will be in the next 5–10 years, but I am sure it is going to be very massive.

But as history tells us, bitcoin killer will emerge one day. I want to find out such coin, but I don't have enought knowledge and ability to do that..
I don't know the history that tells you that killer coins are going to emerge. Those people who are saying that are just anti-Bitcoin, lot's of coins have tried to compete with Bitcoin, but all of them are always ending up dead. I am not expecting any coin in the future that will kill Bitcoin, but lets keep looking.

I don't also have the knowledge to discover such a coin that will kill bitcoin, so it would be better if you try to learn harder so that you would be able to discover such a coin, but I am sure you won't be finding any.

Is there a coin that is similar to Bitcoin now? something that is perfectly decentralized.
No coin is similar to bitcoin in terms of decentralization.

There is no single coin in the market which could compete with BTC, due to many of the reasons. Some are the following:

  • BTC has half of the market cap of the overall crypto industry
  • Every other coin or token is directly or indirectly affected by the price alternation of BTC
  • BTC is king

Well, I don't have simple words to explain why there is no other coin similar to BTC, but my friend let me clear your one doubt that, you still have the opportunity and you can make a profit out of BTC, still. I mean many of us still consider ourselves early adopters of the BTC (of course not early in compared to the ones who adopted it in 2009 or 2010). But we in the long term, consider ourselves early adopters and do know that BTC will stay longer and will reach points that no one has ever expected.

I mean for understand that we are not late read it --> https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.62909484 And if you wanted to

I would rather say, since you are a high school student it's not too late !!!
You are very young and investing in promising assets like bitcoin in such a young age is very beneficial for financial freedom.
Start investing in bitcoin and accumulate as much as you can while its relevantly cheaper.
As you grow your portfolio, try to diversify your portfolio into other promising assets.

Satoshi did a great job and rounded up with a complete project that requires no centralized body. Then he moved ahead, to prove his work, he's nowhere close to managing bitcoin. Yet his project succeeds more than most top tech companies, with a CEO and board of trustees. Even, coins with a CEO suffer huge losses. They will be no bitcoin killer in form of a coin. Maybe a high tech can appear from the blues. Which surprise can't be a coin project. Because the cryptocurrency revolves around bitcoin. And bitcoin has suffered turf days. The government worked against bitcoin, hackers did too, added with rugpull projects stealing huge amount of bitcoin. To waste on flashy lifestyles. These things drew bitcoin backward and delayed the growth speed of bitcoin. Do you have a glimpse of how such a coin would work. Quantum computer posing as a threat to bitcoin, doesn't seem true or possible. Hence, before investing into such a coin, do your research and be sure not to fall for scam. As you'll be getting silly private messages proposing shitcoins. Their white paper would contain series of lies and deceits. Any other idea, other than Satoshi's will be lower in capability and corporations. The bitcoin network collaborates in a well organized form. I'd advise you to read a little more on bitcoin. There you'll understand what Satoshi did with bitcoin. Programmers from the days of Satoshi, understood how simple building bitcoin was, anybody with some c++ or c can cockle bitcoin. But, Satoshi joined different existing materials to his ideas, where bitcoin got birthed. And no programmer can do anything else better than bitcoin. Like Satoshi is an inventor of a simple idea no one would have thought of. And he delivered the job just right. The code is open for anyone to read and test for issues. Miners, core developers and investors follow one consensus rule that governs the network. The only possibility is creating similar to bitcoin coins, Like Vitalik's project; Ethereum. He moved to smart control and is nowhere to match proof of work. People thought ethereum 2.0 will boost the market and outperform bitcoin. Nothing happens. A high number of attackers and unjust miners have tried 51% attack to smack bitcoin. But to no good news. I can go on and on with a litany of the problems bitcoin is passing through.

Technology continues to develop very quickly and we will never know what the future holds for Bitcoin, and there will most likely be a much better technology that can beat Bitcoin someday and who knows when.
However, currently and perhaps in the long and unpredictable future, only Bitcoin will be the best investment in terms of decentralization.
And if you are just waiting for an uncertain Bitcoin killer, maybe in your old age even after you die there might be something that can replace Bitcoin. But you are already too late, so why should you think too far into uncertain things because with that kind of thinking you will always be too late to get involved with Bitcoin and learn and understand that Bitcoin is beautiful.

Am not so sure you have learned anything about bitcoin. You sound like someone that have just heard about it. Hearing and learning are two different things.

Can you add a link to that historical saying so some of us can have the honour of reading it too. We all here to learn even though most of the things we learn nowadays are fallacies just like this one about bitcoin killer.

Firstly I would give you a thumbs up for recognizing how smart a people we are here in the forum.

The only perfect decentralized coin smart people like me here knows is bitcoin.

Any other coin that claims to be BTC is just an imposter coin and can't be a match. For a 18 year old am not surprised you're asking these questions but my advise is if it's not bitcoin it just can't be like bitcoin. So be careful where put want to invest your money.

there are a lot of people who are just starting to learn Bitcoin and also businesses starting to adopt Bitcoin, so, I am really curious what makes you think that you are too late? are you saying that you are too late because you're not an early investor? you know a lot of people here in the forum are not early investors too(including me).

Correction your age is 14 years old not 4 years old? You are not late in learning bitcoin!.
the OP said that he was FOUR years old when Bitcoin was launched, which is 2009, today, he is either 17 or 18 years old.

Yeah; a new bitcoin quietly impossible because no project is %100 decentralised with an owner. Look at ETH and Vitalik; ADA with Charles, so on so on. Unless Satoshi invents BTC 2.0 (maybe that won't even take BTC's place hence if Satoshi comes up, everything will change drastically for Bitcoin imho) i don't see any BTC killer coming up; just like other poster said 100.000s of BTCs killers are in grave right now. BTC will always be the first and most adapted digital currency to exist in the planet. (Seems like that for now).

Instead of looking for a Bitcoin, why not starting investing in Bitcoin now?
I don't see any coin in the market right now that can take the place of Bitcoin. Bitcoin has the advantage of being the first, and when something is the first, it's always hard to replace in a situation like this.

So it's not late to invest in Bitcoin. Don't look at the price right now, it's still going to increase even more in the future. Just start your investment .

Bitcoin won't have a killer, as it's going to be used to save humanity in a chaotic future. Better to stick to it to the end.

As far as I can, there currently exist no better alternative that has been develop without compromising on the high quality standards or ideals Bitcoin is built on. The standards are necessary framework or foundation for building a very secure and safe decentralized cryptocurrency. Any cryptocurrency that bypass the standards to become advanced is guranteed to crumble when the great storm arrives.

I think that it won't be a cryptocurrency of a type we have now. In general, blockhain-based decentralises financial projects are actually enormous fintech testnets. Soon we can see some new mixed fiat-crypto digital networks, which will have benefits of both fiat money (ex: high adoption level) and cryptocoins (for ex: ecentralised data processing system), and their drawbacks will be minimized. So, there most probably won't be a new btc "out of nowhere".
