Bitcoin is not a new phenomenon Bitcoin is already a well-known currency and a very popular currency. Various companies promote their brand mainly to make their brand known to people but Bitcoin has been known to people for a long time and people are well aware of Bitcoin so there is no need to introduce new Bitcoin. Advertising something else on the BitcoinTalk forum would be good marketing, but Bitcoin doesn't need marketing.
Bitcoin was advertised directly and especially indirectly. It is not like any classic advertisement in TV or YouTube or anything else like that but people used to enlighten others about it via videos, pictures, blogs...etc, until it got the attention of media so the base of users got bigger and bigger. Next came famous companies that adopted Bitcoin and announced that which is another form of advertisement.
I remember one day (5 years ago! I am getting old apparently!) I created a topic to encourage Bitcointalk users to create art for smerit: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/learn-from-arts-old-topic-name-was-smerit-for-art-2957836, which I find that worked quite well. Good old days Smiley

I was just reading this post and thought crossed in my mind that there has been no advertisement for Bitcoin. It's all growth has been natural, it's quite surprising if you think about it.

Yes, bitcoin was never advertised but it has some popularity. Bitcoin has had a strong community since its inception even though it is still small in number, over time the community has grown and become more popular. Bitcoin has a good vision and mission so many people agree with the bitcoin concept.

In my opinion, bitcoin will become increasingly popular and in demand because its concept is fixed and cannot be intervened by any party, this is the opposite of fiat money.

I've never given a thought before about how bitcoin came to gain so much popularity without advertising it an any electronic means. But this should not really be surprising because I've neither heard of any fiat currency being advertised before. There are some fiat currencies that are not popular because of their low value in foreign exchange, but currencies like the USD, Euro and pounds are very popular because of their high values. I don't think that they've been advertised before, likewise bitcoin, that was created and has attained high value like these recognized fiat currencies. So bitcoin naturally don't need adverts too, since it is also known worldwide. What this valued currencies including bitcoin have in common is that they are used by more than one country.

Because of the decentralized and profitable nature of bitcoin will make it's adoption to be growing very fastin every corner of the world, which is an advertisement on it's own. A good product sells itself and bitcoin is doing just that.

And that is by design.

See, we don't need to run ads all over TV in order to get people to use Bitcoin.

The BTC price goes up for whatever reason, and then people see everyone else buying it, and then they want to buy i to so that they don't feel left out.

Or people could just be talking about it on Twitter or on websites, and that in itself catches eyeballs without any money spent.

There were advertisements actually, and there are advertisements now, but at the start there wasn't any. Although Bitcoin doesn't have a marketing and promotion department or staff because it isn't a company, there are companies that are promoting Bitcoin in one way or another. They're putting the logo of Bitcoin in buses, billboards, websites, sports uniforms, etc. This is actually advertising Bitcoin. Of course it doesn't come from Bitcoin itself because nobody owns, runs, or manages Bitcoin.

What you say can also be called bitcoin advertising, but actually those people and companies are not advertising bitcoin, they are taking advantage of bitcoin's image for their own profit. The popularity of bitcoin is attracting a lot of attention from people around the world and using bitcoin logos and images is not really advertising for bitcoin but they are trying to draw attention to themselves. They also have no good intentions towards bitcoin, they just do their job to benefit their business.

Whatever they do, if they put the Bitcoin logo, they're advertising for Bitcoin. There was a big Bitcoin logo on a bus in Hong Kong, that has made people curious about Bitcoin. There was a Bitcoin logo on the sleeve of a football club uniform, that has reminded people to once again check on what this Bitcoin thing is. There was a Bitcoin sticker on a pub, that makes one ask another whether he is familiar about this Bitcoin which is becoming ever more popular.

As I said, it can also be considered a bitcoin advertisement but their main purpose is not to advertise about bitcoin, but they are exploiting the image of bitcoin to attract attention for their business. We can say, they use the bitcoin logo to advertise their business, which will benefit both, advertise bitcoin but also advertise their business.
If you want to shop and come across a store that accepts bitcoin payments, you'll go into that store to use your bitcoins. That means they are also attracting customers for themselves and also unintentionally promoting for bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a digital currency. Bitcoin is so popular that Bitcoin doesn't need to be promoted. The importance of Bitcoin is already there in all countries so it will not be necessary to create interest in Bitcoin through promotion. We only promote things that are privately owned Bitcoin is not privately owned so there is no need to promote it. If we notice then we can understand that Bitcoin has become more popular now than ever without any publicity.

Now there are many places in the world where people don't know anything about what is bitcoin but through bitcoin science they will know about bitcoin. But in countries where bitcoin support is eligible and there is no need for advertising, they are already aware of bitcoin and it is a familiar currency for everyone. Social media is constantly advertising even if it is advertised it will not be seen that. Bitcoin is likely to become more popular and popular in the near future.

Yes but the matter people are getting aware of bitcoin yet there are plenty people that don't know about it. Many people know it but they don't know how to use it so we still have a lot to do by teaching them how to do it. Even though bitcoin àdvertise itself through it users and the price, yet people are needed to advertise. The growth of bitcoin is still lye on human and not the name itself. There are many ads and news about bitcoin in the internet but people are still ignorant about bitcoin.

Human advertisement is still needed.

It's an ad about bitcoin but I agree with what DanWalker said, they are advertising themselves more than they are advertising about bitcoin. They are exploiting bitcoin's image to attract more attention to their business. They know that bitcoin is becoming more famous and that relying on celebrities or famous products will get them more attention. So when they use the bitcoin logo, they are advertising bitcoin, but their real intention is more to advertise their business.

If there was advertisement, the growth might have been better. Even the Bitcoin talk staff can help for this as there are many Bitcoin supporters here.

Bitcoin has go round the whole world for people to know the advantage of Bitcoin, and what they can achieve from Bitcoin if they use it positively which are some of the things that is making Bitcoin to continue spreading in the world today. I believe all of us here can still remember how will accommodate Bitcoin that made us who we are in the community that is making people to believe that Bitcoin is real and is available for whoever that want to embrace it. Those countries that rejected Bitcoin some years ago based on their fake information and poor research later carry out another research to discovered that Bitcoin can help a nation to eliminate unemployment and delay in transaction that made them to changed their mind to adopt Bitcoin. Bitcoin is different from fiat money you need to advertise before the citizens can change their minds, but see the name Bitcoin and what El Salvador country has achieved from Bitcoin will make some countries to do the same thing.

This isn't an advertisement?

That's the hardest way to promote Bitcoin since Bitcoin isn't 100% regulated and he taking risk by promoting a new thing in serious discussion.

While the advertisement in online, I think there are many sites promoting Bitcoin, usually it's dominated by centralized exchanges.

Even though I'm not really know with the promotion before 2017 aka when Bitcoin price hit $19K
Sneaky advertising this is how Bitcoin will surely popular and be known , is this a Live Telecast when that sneaking happened? just wondering how the people reacted then if that is live .
Bitcoin has been popularized in many platform and sites now , not mentioning how  crypto gambling is increasing now and that is one way of bitcoin advertising.
I was just reading this post and thought crossed in my mind that there has been no advertisement for Bitcoin. It's all growth has been natural, it's quite surprising if you think about it.
In a world dominated by advertisements and where the marketing is more important than the actual product, yes, it's actually impressive, especially considering the fact that oftentimes when people talk about bitcoin they just do it in a negative way. It's the same as having a good or a bad experience with a restaurant, a hotel, or something like that: people are usually way more inclined to tell people about a bad experience rather than a good one.
Yups , the world is moving now actually not about the actual product but how advertising is fooling people , also there is a popular word now about "EXPECTATION vs. REALITY"  I kept chasing past food chain about their fake advertisement also .

Bitcoin Halving Year 🎗️🎭

We have seen the value of Bitcoin increase dramatically over the past 10 years without any advertising. Since Satoshi Nakamot is the creator of this Bitcoin, we expect a lot from him but we don't get it because he is now in hiding, we have not seen him. If he was there, he would have advertised Bitcoin in different ways, but he is no, but Bitcoin is in such high demand in the world today. All the nations of the world depend a lot on this bitcoin for their long-term goal of becoming financially self-sufficient, here they invest without any advertising. This Bitcoin has progressed tremendously without any leader to make the present world financially prosperous and has helped people a lot financially. But we are seeing a lot of ads with various experts predicting that Bitcoin will be in the best position in the coming year. When the Bitcoin halving happens just after the next few months the price of Bitcoin reflects the run towards the bull market and the price of Bitcoin reaches the highest level.

Bitcoin is not like ponzi scheme people needs to advice to make money, the reason why bitcoin is not advertised is because it is not centralised,  it does not belong to a group of persons that their target is to make it well known to people.  Bitcoin is a decentralized currencies with good value and quality features of money, with these their is no need for Bitcoin to be advertised instead it will be known by it quality and capability of solving problems for humanity.  Despite bitcoin not being advertised it is still getting more awareness and young people are adapting it very well as to strengthen their financial status.

There is not really any need for bitcoin to be promoted, as in a way this is done indirectly by all the business that are related to this market, as exchanges, casinos and any business which accepts bitcoin already promote it.

Besides unlike altcoins which are centralized and owned by just a few people, bitcoin is truly decentralized, so we do not have a CEO or a board of directors which can take the decision to do this and assign funds towards this goal.
The indirect promotion of Bitcoin through affiliated firms is, at most, flimsy. We are talking about a big change in the way money and deals are done, and it has value that goes beyond its use in casinos or as a simple transactional tool in some businesses. It's what a decentralised banking future will look like.

Putting altcoins' centralised control next to Bitcoin's decentralised structure is a waste of time. Even though Bitcoin doesnt have a CEO or board to fight for it, that shouldnt mean we should just let it go the way it is. If we really believe in its ability to change things, then its our job as supporters to support its story. Why not use the power of its global community to create more important conversations and a better understanding of each other
