People I have a question / idea, not directly related to Noble but still.

For crypto's it's mandatory that the mining keeps going / people keep connecting their online wallet for security. For the future that could be an issue, as the coins to be mined will be less and so less to earn bla bla bla.

So my question is, why isn't there a coin that uses a mobile wallet for "securing" the network and desktop software for mining / etc? To be more precise, it would only be possible to "mine" coins only using a desktop and the "mobile" wallet would only give you sort of POS advantage. There are going to be LOADSSSS of mobile / smart devices (think watches, mobiles, less strong pc's) that are always on, it would be able to benefit from this.

Please understand it's not about mining on these devices, it's more about keeping the network secure and healthy. So what am I missing, why is nobody taking this approach or giving it a go.....?

Hope this is not a really stupid question / idea Tongue

I believe one issue without mobile staking (PoS mining) is that you need to have your wallet unlocked with the full amount of coins in the wallet (stake power depends on coins in your wallet). I wouldn't feel secure with having a couple thousand dollars unlocked on a mobile device that is connecting to different networks all the time.

EDIT: I think people are working on "cold storage" minting. This would probably mean staking will be available without unlocking / connecting your staked coins directly.

Yes sort of like that (I was not directly thinking of POS but just any algo that would work), think it will change a lot and if we realise that we (read non nerds) won;t be using desktops for another decade....

Problem with that is that botnets will rule this type of mining. They just infect a few pcs and smarthphones and they have millions of staking devices.

Maybe somehow link a "cold storage" address to a "staking" address so you can use your hot wallet for staking, while using your cold storage coins?

CLOAKCOIN. NOBLECOIN. VERICOIN.
I wanted to share my thoughts and widen the cooperation between NobleCoin and locals from my country, so I decided to start with this little project:

www.simplynoble.net

Sorry for amaterish design from a template, but the message is more important Wink

I wanted to implement NobleCoin in local fields here in Poland, so I thought that taking part of the fundraising event for Stacja Wolimierz, which I described in my post on simplynoble, would be great.
This place and organization is also a great thing, but more details I will give on my page, and after I translate their Polish infos from websites.

I would also like them to be added as a charity, but again, it needs translating, I will do this next.

If you even don't want to check the site (tl;dr), here is an Nobl addr:

9X1Jwnsn3X5YY4TYtpW2dPUHTYAHU7XzyX

And the fundraising is about constructing the new, ecological, wooden playground for children, „magic indian village”, which has to be done by professional company, with safety certificates, as this space is semi-private, semi-public (it belongs to an association, but also local farmers belong to the association, so their children come to play to the Station Wink

Example of one of the planned houses for kids:

You can try Google Translate the pages of the Plac project, the Station, and the Foundation if you want more info about what are they doing, I will translate most important parts later, when I find some time „in between” Wink

Not sure whether that is good advise. Kaspersky antivirus is jumping up and down when trying to download the wallet. Both from the BCT link as from their website link. It is complaining about Trojan.Win32.IRCBot.cny.

it was also reported in their thread on the 13th of may.

Anyone here should know how to check binaries if they don't compile their own. Thx for pointing this out though I'll spark up my VM when I get a chance and scan it. Also if you don't want to use the wallet then just goto one of their exchanges and use that wallet. Since they are making coin of the site name the members might as well take their cut.

I don't want to seem like I am brushing this off immediately by claiming it is a false positive, but you'll see plenty following up on it being so. A fair few scanners will report wallet software with false positives because of how they work and integrate with IRC. Current wallet 1.0.1 linked on the front page should return a 0/51 on VirusTotal (when a 1 or 2 is generally accepted as false positive on occasion): https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/91edf485bfb6007561624549fe475620108e6e13be4f0f037c9663b57d52538f/analysis/1397052152/. Paid Avast Professional and SpybotS&D should also report it 100% clean. Haven't run it on Kaspersky, but I'm not disagreeing with the alert at all.
