Hi

If I put in $1000 in this, what kind of profits should I see. Am I better holding on to that $1000 in bitcoin?

1000,- aint that much, just hold one BTC and let the rest run a CEXIO

Mining power should get cheaper over time as it should... in $ terms.

It's a really great deal!  No worries though - as bitcoin rises, there's downward pressure on the GHS as it's very obvious it's not worth it.

Buying NMC seems like a better deal then buying hash...
Yeah. I think it is the best deal at the moment. They are much more worth.

The fact that you can sell away the gigahashes again makes it profitable.

Yes, indeed!
Here, at mining profit calculator i made a special column. "GHs sell price". You will see it if you click on a month row.
It's shown in daily calculations. And this is a minimal price at which you can sell Ghashes and cover your spendings. Obviously, if your price will be more, you will get a profit Smiley

I'm working on usability of this calc, so don't hesitate - give me your advices Wink

I don't understand how CEX.io works.

What don;t you understand?

You buy mining Ghs for BTC and then whilst you own it you get the mining rewards as if you had the hardware at home.

When you are done, you sell it again.

The risk is that the price will vary.

CEX.io have done a good job in making mining power avaliable to the masses, rather than the mess of pre-ordering.

Two things, the opportunity to trade at CEX.io for GH/s is making me money.  Second I can point my non-cloud hardware at the ghash.io pool and mine with zero fees.

I think being able to take advantage in the fluctuation of BTC/GHS is a good trading opportunity, and sure there are other zero fee pools, but this one has a decent hashing rate.
