Good grief, I just had a nightmare of theymos PMing me that I became a merit source followed by an avalanche of PMs from people sending me their posts for me to merit...  Shocked Undecided

Theymos do not tell anyone that he sent you a PM.
Nobody will know that you became a merit source until the data is scrapped and you have sent lots of merits, or that you appear here .

You will not receive "an avalanche of PM". Personally, nobody ever asked me for merit in PM.

I also agree that Dev & Tech (well, the entire forum) could use a couple more merit sources and OP amount of activity indeed recommends him as Merit Source.
So yep, I also support the application.

A bit off-topic, but for @NotATether and anyone who find good posts on Dev & Tech board, feel free to PM me or report it at [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source. Currently i ran out of sMerit, but i'll bookmark it and merit it when sMerit source is refilled.

Most of chosen posts are good, but i wouldn't choose post three.

I don't consider someone's personality to be indicative of how merit-worthy an individual post is. And thanks for your support.

I said that not because his personality, but his history of
1. Make extraordinary claim without any proof or reference.
2. Spout technical FUD such as SHA-256 will broken on 2020, to the point where some member left negative trust.

You would certainly greatly benefit the users who post in the Technical Discussion's board because you have the knowledge to do that task properly. I often look at your posts and think: "What da hell is this guy talking about?" That's actually a compliment because I don't have the technical background knowledge or coding abilities that you possess.

For some reason there is quite a waiting list for new merit sources, so whenever the door opens, I hope you'll be one of those who walk through it.

There are a lot of technical people who deserve more merits and a higher rank

We really lack a merit source in who wants to really spend lots of merits in the technical discussion boards.

Good posts there do not often receive merits, and there a lot of users there who deserve more merit, as they have shared a lot of knowledge there, helping newcomers and participating in technical discussions.

You will be a great merit source, and I support your application.

Edit: I will try to help you meriting Technical Discussion boards Smiley

I wholeheartedly support your merit source application. With the good technical knowledge you have, development and technical discussion board could use someone like you

As far as I recall, it's been awhile since Theymos added a few more merit sources. I don't know if it's just me, but merits seem to be a little scarce lately too. I think it's about time he added a few more Merit sources.

The likes of Bones261, Vod, TMAN, chimk and so many more I probably don't know about are no longer active or are now less active.

But good luck, I hope you get tapped.  I'm not sure if there's been any increased traffic to bitcointalk, but if there has been I'd think we'd need at least a few new sources.

According to https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/bitcointalk.org#section_traffic we're at roughly the same place we were three months ago, except for some time in between when we got a surge of traffic most likely from that mega bull run.

Merit sources really shouldn't be biased against (or for) certain members, though I can't say I haven't been guilty of that before.  That's sound judgement on your part, NotATether, and I'll definitely give you a thumbs up on your application to be a source.

The only issue is that I don't think Theymos is looking to add any more merit sources at the moment--though who knows when that could change.  There have to be some sources who've dropped out or haven't been distributing merits efficiently over the last year or two, and I have no idea whether any of them have been replaced or not.  Nor have I seen many merit source applications being bumped as of late or any new ones, so I think most previous applicants have given up after not being selected for so long.

But good luck, I hope you get tapped.  I'm not sure if there's been any increased traffic to bitcointalk, but if there has been I'd think we'd need at least a few new sources.

Most of chosen posts are good, but i wouldn't choose post three. Anyway, Dev & Tech board could use more merit source who have better technical knowledge, so i support your merit source application.

I am one of the most active members on the Dev & Tech subboard. I have been posting there for about a year. And although it accounts for 4.66% of the merit distribution DdmrDdmr's statistics, I suspect most of it is going to its subboards. Unfortunately the stats don't offer more granularity to confirm this.

This statistic https://public.tableau.com/profile/ddmrddmr#!/vizhome/shared/MX3XSCMGR show more details, but AFAIK it also include Dev & Tech child boards.

I'm not really sure how many Dev&Tech - not global - merit sources there are, if they even exist.

AFAIK there's no merit source which focus only on Dev & Tech. But AFAIK i'm the most active/frequent one, where 56.99% merit send to Dev & Tech board (see https://public.tableau.com/profile/ddmrddmr#!/vizhome/shared/FJ8D3H652).
