Lose or profit is all about perspective. Not only what you mention about crap altcoins or good altcoins. In price also can really affect on what people will get. People who buy in high price might be blame altcoin because they lose, but if they buy in low price, they wouldn't do it.

At the time when the price of ETH reached to $1.4k everything was much better. All of the coins were raised on a large scale. All of the investors were confident with their investment in crypto and many investors were putting all of their money in crypto so the price reaching to that value was not hard. Now many people are confused and when the market will again run in green without any red then again we will see a situation like that.
Yes, nothing is wrong with altcoins, the only thing it's wrong is that people and greedy persons are taking advantage of it. Also, there's a lot of greedy CEO or founders that are taking advantage of it, that turned out to be scam. Altcoins are good too for the legit one as they are contributing with the prescence of cryptocurrency.

I think the majority issue is that the prices do not match with previous ones. Because while ethereum's price was $1.4k in bitcoin's $18k time, the ethereum is $130 in $7k. According to this calculation, the price of the ethereum should be around $400-500.Top altcoins will surely lose value as well, to me this present loss of altcoins are positive, look at coins like LTC, EOS, BNB, these coins are doing fine. You will only have problem if you invest in crap altcoins

People are blaming altcoin because they didn't sell the altcoin when the price reached the highest price. They want to make a bigger profit even they already see the biggest profit that they can take. That is because they are too greedy for making the biggest profit. But if they understand that the price will go down after reaching the highest price, the price will not stay at that price, and it will go down whether you like it or not. So while you can see the price increase so high, you need to sell your altcoin before it's too late to realize that the price goes down. If you still hold your altcoin, then you will regret it later.

There's nothing wrong in altcoins if you are holding a well established alts, its normal for the price to swing and because btc is the major pair in exchanges the price of other alts tend to go down if the value of btc is declining.
Moreover holding alts are risky if the one you bought is shitcoins thats why its best to choose a popular coins to make sure they will recover once the market turns better.

Most altcoins depends entirely on bitcoin, this is what i hate about altcoins, only very few altcoins don't depend on bitcoin but since bitcoin is the mother of all coins they will always benefit from surge, be careful which altcoins you keep, someday they might be worthless
I have many erc20 tokens that I got from the bounty campaign and hope that when bitcoin goes up altcoin will follow the price. I know now most of the erc20 tokens are dead because long bear market but I am still waiting for everything to come back.
Despite of the death of altcoins due to bearish market, it's not yet over since people are still hoping for them to arise at any moment. We don't know the exact date for that, but still many individuals are still looking forward for when it will begin to correct all the underlying problems that made it drowned for two years.

That's why you need to analyze Altcoin before investing. In difficult times like this, it is better to secure capital first than to invest in coins that are less volume and there is no progress. I personally prefer to choose the short term when trading than hold coins for now considering the price of Bitcoin is still down.

Actually the real issue is with market as when the market crashed then bitcoin along with all altcoins dropped down but now the market is growing and when the price will reach to $20k then all of the altcoins will start to rise. You may remember that when the price reached to $20k in 2017 then even the crap altcoins increased its value. The same will happen again. So if you have any coin just hold them and wait for the good market.
but bitcoin is profitable this year, when the pump price movement some time ago and also altcoin which can benefit people who do daily trading. so actually disappointment will always be there when we can not take advantage of opportunities, because there are still some people who can profit in the current market conditions
