what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?

Then again, if the hub has some type of over voltage protection, it may see the 30 amps as being to much over 3 amps and kick in the protection.

a power supply can always be rated more amps than whatever it is youre powering. it will only draw what is needed.

It looks like you mis-spelled earlmostick.  Wink

Postie came bearing gifts.  Man alive these things do not like USB3 ports--nothing but "no valid hashes for over 10 secs, attempting to reset" garbage.  No issues with USB2.  The 'y' cables are on the slow boat so nothing exciting for a while.

.earl

I have 6 running at freq 240 on  USB3 (Orico A3H10 hub) with Y cables,
waiting on "usb doctor" to tune them more.

I tried one of these (5V) to power a hub with a single stick+fan. With rare exception, couldn't get the stick to mine. http://www.meanwell.com/mw_search/SP-150/SP-150-spec.pdf
Went back to the 3 amp wort that came with the the hub and everything fired up hungrily.
Is there something about this power supply's specs that stand out as to why it 'may be inappropriate' for this purpose?

What specs are on the wall wort?

If it is 3amps. And 12 volts you need a 12 volt psu not a 5.

The hub comes with a 5 volt 3 amp wall wart. Measured no load DC output voltage 5.23.
The meanwell PS is 5 volts 30 amps. Measured no load DC output voltage 5.35.
Seems the hub just doesn't like the power supply. I'll keep playing with it.

Did you use a barrel plug or solder wires to the hub? If you used a plug, could it be the wrong size? Like using a 2.5MM on a 2.1MMplug.

Then again, if the hub has some type of over voltage protection, it may see the 30 amps as being to much over 3 amps and kick in the protection.

hub should state what voltage it is somewhere on it. last hub I had (10 years ago) had a 6 volt supply IIRC.  might even of been a usb 1 hub come to think of it.

I you look on the pool page, you have a large number of shares on the 26 and a lot less the days after:

26: 1026688
Following days: 228132   192199   162442   85495   total:1694956

So it looks like the 26 is the sum of what you had mined previously.

and he can check totals against ck pool since he is 100% this run that total of 1694956  should be a little under ck's

http://solo.ckpool.org/workers/1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.bctmkestick

{"hashrate1m": "11.9G", "hashrate5m": "11.6G", "hashrate1hr": "12G", "hashrate1d": "6.97G", "hashrate7d": "6.33G", "lastupdate": 1448912591, "shares": 1697140, "bestshare": 140754.16459882903, "bestever": 972839}

a quick comparison shows ck at 1697140  just a bit higher then 1694956

all info comes from ck links like the one above.

zOU and cryptoglance organize it.  Since ck never resets numbers on the shares. by combing stats we can keep track.

I also feed in a lot of extra free hash.  this helps the part A  prize levels at my expense.  It it pretty much a push for part B prizes.

but you the miner have option to go low as 1 stick or as high as you want.

I do like the idea of letting part b shares stay alive the entire 30 day run. This is very  unusual in the world of btc

Philip,

A question for you.  I started mining back on 11/20ish (perhaps very early 11/21).  Crypto didn't add me until 11/26ish or so.

Do you keep track of the interim timeframe?  It's no big deal on my side I'm just curious.  This is a fun project for me.

--

I do also believe @cryptoglance said he'd create you a form for user entry (and hopefully removal) so that you can have it far easier when adding/removing people

--

I finally got a good USB hub so it's time to play around with the overclock!!

Ok

It doesn't change much for me anyway.

The only thing that would make the spreadsheet easier to maintain is to have the total first and then the columns with the shares per day.

Now I have to do a quick daily update, but that's not a big deal.
It's just that it is not as fully automated as it could be.

above is up to date.

we have 1 issue with

 16) http://solo.ckpool.org/workers/1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.kipper01

16a) http://solo.ckpool.org/workers/1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.kipper01donation

kipper01 is a stick and is on cryptoglance list.

looking for him on zOU list     and I was able to find him as a part A (stick share)

kipper01 ==> eligible to part A, 6619359 shares mined
kipper01donation is on line 31 ==> forced not eligible to part A, 0 share mined

My spreasheet is pulling the list of workers and the shares from cyrptoglance pool page.

The formulas (Col A/B/C/D) adjust gain according to total share mined and eligibility to part A.

This is just to help, feel free to double check the calculated values Smiley

It is calculating sum on line 71 to make sure that total doesn't exceed 12BTC for share A, and 24 BTC for A+B

I talked it over with kipper01 via pm.  Asked him to keep it at kipper01  as we do have the info.

Next run we need to try to make a more easy to keep track of setup.

I do think we will do the setup from dec 11 to dec 18 then freeze it  it would make things a lot easier to track.

I am thinking for next  run from dec 11 to jan 11  to making a new bitcointalk account.

SidehackStickpool

and giving the password to zOU and cryptoglance.  So far the biggest problem we are having is keeping list up to date.

Other choices are start on dec 11

1 week enrollment

then we are frozen so list updates are less work.
