It sounds like it is simply to change ownership and there's a good chance the exchange will re-open under new branding or such. If it does close though it will be a sad day, mostly it's a fairly useless exchange but there can be an occasional gem that can be picked up from there exchange with all the many coins they list.

This is how I understand it too, so I don't understand the title of the thread. unless of course the new owners are planning t liquidate and sell off their remaining assets which wouldn't make sense. Watching this space. And oh, it is an European exchange, not Chinese as some posters are suggesting.

Could this be impacting the price today? They had a huge selection of coins, a lot of coins on Nova you wouldn't find in other exchanges. I wonder what the developers behind these obscure coins will do now.

I got an email from novaexchange regarding this closure. As I read from such email, they will have new owners is the main reason for this closure. I already withdrew all of my coins from nova.

Hi

I withdrew my GCN coin ok.

No joy yet on the Doge and LTC.

There are plenty of exchanges so it shouldn't be a problem for
all the coins to find a new home. It might be necessary to pay some
BTC to get listed fast.

Best
Greg

I'm not even able to log in. Just getting a 404 error.
Fortunately I hardly have anything on there.

I also wanted to check if I have some historic coins there, just in case.
I've got for sign in "400 bad request", not 404.
I guess that they are trying to do something, just not careful enough to not break everything around Smiley
We'll need patience on this...

Must be a Chinese exchange.

My browser tells me it's Swedish, not Chinese. If it would have been Chinese it would be closed or frozen already.

Novaexchange is not from china, may be it's from europe.
Now, a can't login anymore, wait tomorrow

Lol from China. It's from Sweden, and owner states it's very well on the website, just read it, instead of being ignorant, and provocative.

Still have few months ahead but I do not understand why everyone sell on the panic and withdraw all just right after the announcement.

Because there have been time where exchanges and pools made an announcement that they are closing with a closing date but closed earlier then they said. Better safe than sorry!

Sad news, I liked this exchange for the more rare coins.. I certainly hope that when the new owners take over, this exchange will be bigger and better than ever!!

It doesn't sound like it.  Announcing they are closing is different that announcing they are changing ownership.  I doubt the new owner would allow them to stop new registrations, stop deposits, ask people to withdraw all their holdings, etc., if they had any intentions of keeping it open.

Well are they not  announcing it is being taken over ?but I think they want no liability under the new owners. So best to clear the exchange out then start fresh under the new ownership.

Coins that are only traded there at this time will be crushed though i guess until they come back online or they find another exchange.

Roll on decentralised exchanges ... hurry up ffs.

Seems a fair and timely warning, what alternatives can we use for little known coins? :|

this is bad news. NOVA was a good little exchange and worked well. Their UI was pretty decent.

also giving 5 months notice is quite good. Although everyone shit themselves today and tried to withdraw it all on day 1. The entire site is bogged down.
