You are all facing the same issue, rouge nodes that are transmitting incorrect chain. version 60007 is the latest and syncs just fine, please look in your debug log and on "getpeerinfo" in your wallet, find the nodes broadcasting the bad chain and block them. We realised that if we do a complete forced peer block in the first phase of cutting them out, we run the risk of completely fragmenting the chain. This update allows people to sync, the next with a version bump again will completely lock out all other peers. We made a mistake in the first version so we split the update into two, as you can see, some have working wallets and others do not. You'll find that most who are having issues are connecting to the same set of nodes.

Please block the bad nodes in your firewall settings

Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Firewall

then go to advanced settings and modify your invound and out bound rules to block the offending nodes.

Hi Barwizi and others,

Unfortunately I also cheered a little bit too early. After I downloaded the wallet and synced it without problems, I closed and re-opened the wallet and then it was stuck again at 2700 blocks ago and not syncing anymore. Also not after more then an hour.

To try and solve this, I took the following steps (which worked):

1. I cleared everything from my %appdata%\noirshares folder except for the wallet.dat file

2. I used Notepad to create a Noirshares.conf file in my %appdata%\noirshares folder. (if you do this, make sure you save the file as Noirshares.conf while "All files" is selected. Otherwise you might save it as a .txt file)

3. In the Noirshares.conf file, you enter the following text:

checkblocks=1

4. Run the Noirshares QT client again and it will start syncing again from the beginning. It might get stuck a few times in the end, but then just close the client and start it again and it should continue to sync.

5. After it has totally finihed syncing, you should be able to open the client again and it should remain up to date.

This should however ofcourse not be necessary and everybody should just be able to download the client and it should just work.
So please DEV's focus your energy on building a completely functioning wallet without all these issues.
After that it would be nice to get some updates on where NRS is going so we can all squash the trolling going on here and built a strong community again.
The last days have not been good for my investment, so let's turn it around guys ! Cool Cool Cool

I dunno, this new "community" accusing the nrs of a scam has no proof of it? Often times it is better to just ignore the trolls than it is to feed them. The team is working on the wallet issues, which is a lot more important than dealing with some stupid personal problems.

I am all for shedding light on things. To accuse them of premining, then when someone says it wasn't premined, you say they are lying, yet have no PROOF of them lying and ask for a "real dev" to look at the code. Well shit, how did YOU know it was premined then? Shouldn't you have been a real dev able to look at the code.

To touch upon that, just because the block count is low doesn't mean they can't set the generation of shares to a high figure for the first few blocks. It winds up looking like "if hieght<=10 set generate=10000" or some stupid shit like that, i am not a coder but have seen what laz was talking about in other coins.

Again, trust is something that is earned. I am guessing laz dumped his coins and his share of the general fund and has nothing to lose now by trying to bring the coin down? It is cool for the rest of us... dick. Because without any proof, that is exactly how it looks. Baseless accusations.

Oh my god! They just copied and pasted someones OPEN SOURCE code. Who gives a shit? In all honesty i would rather have the devs using WORKING code from someone else than try to do something them selves and fail. If you think you can't be successful utilizing what others have done, look up utility patents.

So what is the scam? People bought into the general fund, they bought miners with that money, the used the mining proceeds for what ever, and now the general fund members are upset? Someone supposedly dumped 132k nrs? That is the scam? They used some of the funds from the mining operation to start the noirpool.com which wound up going down and never getting fixed? That is the scam? What were the promises to begin with? It is hard to say things are SCAMS vs. just failures. PROOF?

Some chat logs were posted in the thread last night, which were removed shortly there after (They were quite condemning). There have been several allegations and general questions directed to the dev, to which he has completely ignored. To settle this nonsense, the community has simply asked for an explanation which they have not yet received.

"Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice...."

The latest issues surrounding NRS are only the half of it...

*The abrupt change to eliminate POW - At least we were given a couple days lead time before the change, but NRS holders had no say in it and furthermore were given no explanation as to the reason for the change.

*Wallet issues - It's already been stated, but the fact still remains. A development team promising a wealth of DAC's with an unheard of level of sophistication can't quite cut it when it comes to a working wallet for their platform. I'm not a coder, but that strikes me as being quite odd.

*Noir Pool - If you read through this thread from the beginning you will see the primary focus for everyone involved was to get more NRS, get more NRS! The Noir Pool was a catalyst to that very idea. I first started to question the NRS team when they claimed this pool was their first DAC, however they quickly edited that statement to "DAC Style" The first release of the Noir Pool wasn't innovative, multiple other pools were using the same interface / back end (hasher.ca)  and it was clunky to say the least. Then, one day, without warning it gone, just gone,. It eventually came back weeks later, but the fact still remains,  this is the only offering that we've seen from the NRS team and its integrity has been questionable from the start.

*Community - I don't feel I need to explain this one. There are users here that have supported NRS since day one and they are a vocal minority. However if you read this thread from start to finish you will see a good deal of cheerleading from new users that have only posted in this thread claiming the dev is a god and NRS is the best thing since sliced bread. On top of that you will begin to find multiple comments being repeated verbatim from different users basically creating a manufactured level of enthusiasm for a coin that hasn't delivered on any promises.

*Noirbits - NRS is the dev's second project after Noirbits (to my knowledge) and it was a colossal train wreck. Check the threads here or even on the official noirbits forum to get an idea what im talking about. Noirbits was a coin with a vision, which failed due to lack of dev involvement and a slew of broken promises. NRS was supposed to revive Noirbits.. somehow, but all questions asked about this, much like the current questions at hand have remained unanswered.

I encourage everyone here to perform there own due diligence and come to their own conclusions regarding the future of NRS. For me its been a fun ride, but im not going down with the ship. Good luck everyone!

I don't know why that Sr member cry about "premine".
I solomined NRS at the very beginning, and I know that barwizi didn't have a large premine.

As a GF holder I am asking for the address to the pre-mine and also records of all the transactions that have occurred whether it was in BTC or NRS.

I want to see what the dev has done with all the funding he's been getting.

Also, a break down of how much NRS and BTC each GF is entitled to and is owed to.

You have not made any payouts, yet you continue to mine BTC and new information has surfaced of what Barwizi did with a considerable amount of NRS.

There is proof Barwizi acted against NRS's best interest.

+1

Although to my knowledge there was no premine. I started solomining on the day NoirShares started and there is nothing that indicates there was a premine, I mined some low blocks the first week. I remember reading on the BitSharesTalkforum there was a discussion going on between Barwizi and Invictus about 10% that had to be set apart for AGS and PTS holders because he wanted to base his DAC on their software (which never has been a secret to my knowledge). I can remember reading there that he has been saying that he wanted to mine 4% for that. To my knowledge he has not mined them before, but maybe rented some extra computer power to mine that part. He said there that has made a snapshot of the Bitsharesblockchain and AGS to be able to payout those shares.
As far as I know Barwizi never has made a secret of wanting to use technology developed by others to found the DAC of the NoirSharesGroup, like BitShares, Counterparty, Ethereum.

That said, I want things to be clear also, as a shareholder I deserve that, so openness about all spending should be given.
If Barwizi has sold 130.000 of his own mined NoirShares, he has the right to do so, although it is not that cool. Maybe he had a reason for that (like needing to pay his living expenses).

Until there is proof, I don't believe that Barwizi acted against NRS best interest, but that Lazj99 and him have a personal problem. No proof has been presented to my knowledge.

If you look at the code and don't find a premine you're a noob who has no clue what he's looking for.

Maybe have a real Dev take a look at the code...or just ask...

Barwizi, how big was the premine? Please endulge us.

Goodmorning

Firstly, i would like to start by providing links to windows wallets

Updated zip
Updated exe

I used the zip one, and downloaded all the blockchain. First time it gets slow around block 50000, but with time it moved forward and synced. I closed it and open again, and it went back to block 49140, with 2501 blocks remaining, it looks stuck right now, can't sync.

Do we need to add any node?

did you delete everything except wallet.dat?

if yes, then
1)go to debug and
2) do "getpeerinfo" you'll
3) find the problem node, then
4) block it in your firewall settings.

I've re-downloaded, and it happened again. It syncs at first, then after closing and open again the wallet, I got those 2501 blocks missing...
How do I find the node with problems? They all have same "startingheight: 51689", or should I look for something else?

Here is my getpeerinfo:

Mine does the same.  Works fine on first run after deleting all but the wallet.dat.  Once I close it and reopen it, only part of my NRS balance shows and it sits at 2588 Blocks remaining and will not sync again unless I delete everything and install again.

Same here it downloaded fine when I deleted everything apart from the wallet and reinstalled. The full blockchain downloaded and even staked a block but after shutting it down and restarting it was out of sync and stuck at block 49247 so I don't know what it did with those extra blocks after 49247 it just had. A getpeerinfo only shows 1.9.1 clients either version 6006 or 6007 with blocks over 5000 so it doesn't look like an issue caused by connecting to old nodes.
The debug file is full of entries like :-
ERROR: CheckProofOfStake() : INFO: check kernel failed on coinstake 7d6ab2bc3589a0e44a993e984994d5004356ad8828ae70e79d06374835060b88, hashProof=0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

It's looking like there was no quality control on the all PoS version of the wallet and not enough time to do it properly.
As this was meant to be a major long term release why does it still use an old version of QT?

What are you talking about?
Is there any negative info about NRS?

People running the project haven't been completely honest.

I'm calling this a loss and just moving on.

It was good playing.

It's looking like there was no quality control on the all PoS version of the wallet and not enough time to do it properly.
As this was meant to be a major long term release why does it still use an old version of QT?

What are you talking about?
Is there any negative info about NRS?

Barwizi:

Whatever we need to discuss, we can discuss publicly in this open forum.

The group's intentions need to be transparent to gain investor trust.

Until then, I refuse to go on skype.

Thinking about it twice, I really dont care anymore.

I was presented proof that he dumped 130 000 NRS when it started to soar hurting his own project.

Who in their right mind hurts their own company like that?

Someone who only cares to squeeze as much BTC out of people as possible.

contact lajz99, he knows more about this.

personally, I'm done trying to discuss this.  The whole thing is moronic.

No premine. Why the assumption that there is? Where is the due diligence. Que the face-palm GIF..

When did the mining stop?

I am updating NoirShare entry on CPU Coin List. I removed Noirshares from the front page and will re-add when the mining restarts.

I think Proof of Work is nearly over if not already.

POW ended at block 50000, now it's only PoS.
