walletpassphrase xxxxxxxxxx 99999999999 true

Where xxxxxxxxxx = your pass phrase and 99999999999 = time in seconds it is unlocked

It will automatically lock again when u close your wallet. To send coins you will still need to put in pass phrase

Have problem with wallet

I've done it, now it doesn't crash, it says it's synced, but after closing and reopen it says 2500 blocks missing.

Even if I could put it to work, this is not the image we want to Noirshares. Everything should go smooth, just replacing the wallet. I think the Dev should clear this one and post a definitive working wallet.

I confirm... and add.. if I let my old wallet.. .dat file that had already some "failed" or "unconfirmed" transactions.. with the first client to synchronize.. untill last block.. I was missing around 400 NRS at my balance....

After removing everything.. restoring my old wallet.dat (1 month old.. or something).. used the first client just to create the block database.. and then closed it.. opened the second one.. and voilá..

-Now i can open/close and quick synchronizes... with the "checkblocks=1". Without it.. it goes backwards... but still sync.

Same problem here, wallet just crashes.

Downloaded from Mega, removed all except wallet.dat, and used the big list of nodes. Wallet crash, Win 7 x64

so after I've tried a lot, I had an idea.
the synchronization still holding a distance to current blockcount 2500 blocks
this is a default options of wallet
checkblocks=2500 default

the solution is,


delete all files except wallet.dat, in the folder
C: \ Users \ (Your User Name Here) \ AppData \ Roaming \ Noir Shares

complements in NoirShares.conf the checkblocks= and set value to 1
also checkblocks=1

then reload the chain


now you can close and open the wallet as often as you want, it will always sync in a few seconds

ok, i have had no problems setting up my own boxes, i have 3 running client now without issues.

When you installed the new client, did windows not ask you about allowing it internet access? I noticed that this may be a reason why it does not continue from where it left off.

Start by backing up your wallet.dat then uninstall your current client. Delete all the contents of your app data folder except your wallet.dat. Next download the new one and install. Create a config file with the above mentioned nodes and then start your client.

I am now trying to recreate the issues stated above.

Things seem to have gone rather smoothly for me. Downloaded the new version from the mega link on the first page, unzipped to a folder, went to the old folder for noirshares64bit and there was an uninstall, clicked that and ran. Went to the new folder and clicked that, started up, same amount of coins, on 50324 at the moment, matches with http://nrs.argakiig.us/

I was a bit worried after reading all the other stuff here! Glad it was smooth for me

Ok, that's what I thought, but I don't seem to have the .conf file.
The files in my appdata folder are:
Database folder
.lock

blkindex.dat

wallet.dat

I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro.

Question 1: Can you tell why the file is missing ?


Update: After i downloaded the client through link:

I installed it on a VM and let it sync --> after syncing was complete and on correct block, I copied wallet.dat from the %appdata% folder on my laptop to the %appdata% folder on my VM --> then I opened the client again on VM and...it was stuck again (!) --> so I concluded that my wallet.dat might be corrupt (if that's possible) --> I then loaded a backup of the wallet.dat and copied it into the %appdata% folder on my VM --> I then opened the client again and... IT SYNCED !!!

So I repeated the same steps on my laptop and now it finally also works there.

One more question though:
Question 2: I see that my client is up-to-date and synced untill the last created block. Does this mean I'm definately running a correct version of the client/wallet now ?

If yes, I think you might want to also add the client in the Google link above to the download links on Noirds.com right ? Because the links that were there don't load the client when there is no blockchain present.

And a small p.s.: I managed to add NRS as a coin to the Coin Ticker IOS (and maybe Android) app. So for everybody using this to check their portfolio: you can now also keep track of your NRS value

with these notes, both version sync after about 15-20 min,
without reload the chain, simply restart

but with a trick to do it. you start shortly the first version, then close and then start the second version and now  this will reload the Chain also


both can reload the chain and then work perfectly. but if you closes and open again, then the two will not sync

-opened new wallet, this time it opened and its syncing now.
Add in the .config addnode=ypool.net and addnode=nrs.argakiig.us with this step.

If it gets stuck after 10min+ close wallet and open it again.
