Those drops always rise however. Look at ethermine pool stats instead and zoom out to Dec 24th,
https://ethermine.org/statistics

You can see the total hashrate was 61.7TH/s or so, and now its back to 60.8TH/s so the drop is more like ~1.5% or so. The hashrate decreased by 1.5mh/s per card so its more like 5% less. Since the price went up, the profitability is still the same however.

It would of been good if also the power consumption went down also by 5% then maybe it would make up for it. But when the speeds get into the 15MH/s range, then its mostly not worth keeping them running.

no don't look at a pool stats look at complete network.

from 23 to 25 was a 4.7% drop

it is too early to know it that is a reflection of 4gb cards leaving and new hash coming on.

if true it will trend down for 6-9 more dags.

If not true we will just grow.  So by jan 27 or so we are 230ph for the network or 310-315ph

WE COULD HAVE SINKING HASH AND RAISING PRICE = $$$$$$

Yeah Phil... good to see 2 straight days of network hashrate drop... hopefully that trend will continue.  I just did some calcs and my 12 remaining 470s are still netting 40 cents per day per card profit.  Not a lot obviously but for cards that are fully depreciated, will likely keep them going at least through 2 more dags.  Luckily, i got my other 2 470 rigs converted over to a 6x 5600XT rig and a mixed rig with my lone 470 8GB, a 5600XT and the 2 5700's that i had to pull off my 5700XT rig due to a power supply issue.

On another related topic, is anyone here dual mining ETH + ZIL?  If so, can you provide a brief explanation or link on how it's done?  I've read that contrary to true dual mining (like the ETH + DCR i used to do), that it actually switches over to ZIL only for like 1 minute every 2-3 hours?  This seems strange to me and also, when i plug in numbers to a ZIL mining calculator, it always comes out at a loss, so there is probably something I am missing.  ZIL price has gone through the roof lately so seems like something to explore.

Yeah my 4GB cards are all down to 23.5mhs or so. Basically every DAG reduces the speed by at least 1mhs per card and what is worse you would think the power consumption would go down since it’s hashing slower but it uses the same power as before.

I think I will use them for 2 more dags and then shut them down. Anyone know if there is anything else to mine like Beam or Raven or whichever other coin people are mining these days. ETC makes like a dime a day after power costs.

Note the network drop was 4.7%

Track it and your hash drop.

Maybe it pays to run them a little longer than 2 jumps.

You can see a drop in hash rate on ethermine every dag increase.

https://ethermine.org/statistics

that is a pool

here is the whole network

https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate

there was a solid drop from the 23rd to the 25th

295 to 281 or about -4.745%

lets wait until the next print on the 27-28 of dec and see what happens

maybe we drop to 267 another 4.7%

If true maybe we go as low as 210-230 in a month

Epoch #382 just hit and pretty much killed off all AMG 4G GPUs (unless running lolminer) and Antminer E3. Looking at one pool,
https://ethermine.org/statistics

It looks like so far ~15% of the hashrate has been removed from the network. The block times are longer according to, https://ethstats.net/ so I wonder how low it will keep on going. I am assuming 20-25% or so which is crazy high.

Regarding lolminer on 4GB GPUs? I will probably just remove them from my farm and sell them on Craigslist. Basically there are 3 issues with lolminer. One there is no remote monitoring, there is no GPU throttling under overheat, they crash every 3 hours on average and the worst of all is the speed reduction. Under Epoch #380, my GPUs ran at 29.5MH/s each, then #381 it ran at 28.5MH/s, and an hour ago the speed decreased even further and runs at 27.5MH/s. So basically not worth the headache. RIP 4GB.

Same problem with hashrate, (HiveOS / Lolminer).
First card lost even more, from 29 -> 26 Mh/s.

Next drop in hashrate, first card 23.6Mh/s, rest of the cards 26Mh/s, Going down quite fast.
After it drops under 20Mh/s, it might be better to mine something else.
Quite nice that you can make "profit" with 10Mh/s, its only cents but still.

but network is rising so a lot of gear is getting added on.

https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate

295 on the 24th

And next, now 21.6Mh/s and 23.8 Mh/s, decrease are percentual, about 9% ? First drop was 3Mh/s, Second 2.4Mh/s and the latest 2Mh/s.

Ive been using Nbminer for nvidia cards for last week.  Works pretty well.  only have 3.5GH on eth.

Its a good farm size.

so t-rex had issues for nvidia.

Yes, switched hash rate jumped and rejected shares 0 vs 15.  T-Rex seemed to work better then phoenix until dag 382.

Nice size farm 5.6 gh

I have about 2.0 gh

I'm using Phoenix for AMD and T-Rex for NVIDIA.  I was a few versions behind on Phoenix, changed to the newest version and I'll see if that helps.

Edit,

Switched all miners to phoenix and hash rate looks like its going back up. 5,578 vs 5,150.

SMSO is reporting 5,600 mh/s which has not changed and Ethrmine average hash rate is 5,175.  That's a bigger then usual difference, poolside hash rate use to be around 5,300 - 5,500.  Seems to have been like this for over a week and I do not have any 4GB cards.  I have one 3080 running on windows not listed on SMOS.

Are you using PhoenixMiner?

My observation, SMOS and poolside hash reporting is quite close using PhoenixMiner.

Btw, I dual mine ZIL and good to note that ZIL went +50% this past week and added more sats to my stash.

My SMOS parameters below (ethermine+rustpool and Nicehash as backup), 1080tis and Vegas

-ttli 77 -rmode 2 -pool sg-zil.rustpool.xyz:8008 -wal zil135su7krsueafdgdlmrzw8ynjz5530hlvc8xt2x/[email protected]:4444 -pass 8G -worker $rigName -proto 2 -rmode 2 -pool2 stratum+tcp://daggerhashimoto.usa.nicehash.com:3353 -wal2 33eWrdGqmT52MtaeUce8DV7NvTcUXni7aY -pass2 x -proto2 4 -stales2 0

Phil, you must be loving your DogeCoin hodl right about now!  I noticed it's up to nearly half a cent now and one of top gainers last 24 hours!  I have a bit but not nearly as much as you so congrats!

maybe I will sell it today.

I sold 340000 I now have 660000

Anyone else noticing a reducing in hash rate on 6GB - 8GB cards?  My poolside hash rate has dropped from 5.4 GH/s to 5.15 GH/s over the last two dag increases?  I'm on ethermine might switch pools.

my new 3080    3 of them all solid 95mh each
my new 3060ti. 1 of them solid at 60.8 mh

the amd 5600xt 6g all dropped a bit.  say 41 to 40.5

the  amd 5500xt 8g all dropped a bit  say 28 to 27.5
