Because snapshotting for Ardor are coming to an end. A lot of people just bought Nxt to get free Ardor. They don't seem to want to hold the Nxt for the IGNIS snapshot and are selling again. Maybe they need it for other ICO's.

The monetary plugin lists coins in the NXT blockchain (these coins are not very active).

Send your NXT to an exchange and sell them for bitcoin.

No, Counterparty assests are colored coins on the Bitcoin blockchain and NXT Assets are colored coins on the NXT blockchain.

They basically work the same and have the same/similar features though.

It is practically there already so I'd say yes. And then some...

Attaching no value whatsoever to ARDR, price should go to 500 sat or below giving that it is simply a ploy to double the number of "coins" outstanding and the price jus before the announcement, was 1,000. So, at 2,000, ARDR wouldo be valued at 3 times the value of NXT... which makes no sense whatsoever at this point.

And then there is the potential value of IGNIS, which is so far down the timeline that it also makes no sense at this time to put any at all in it.

All in all considered, it is quite possible price will continue going down for the time being. Considerably.
