Does anybody know, why Nxt Alerter (https://mynxt.info/alerts.php) doesn't work anymore ? [It's been stopped several weeks ago, If I remember well]. Thanks.
Reporting it to the MyNxt developer. I see there is an error when trying to register a new alert, but as far as I know, existing configured alerts were working.
Situation seems still the same (error occurs, when someone trying to register a new account/alert). But I guess there is some problem in general - I have long-time-exist/configured alert, and it's stop working as well.
Sorry about that. I know the developer was working recently in the php mailer and seems that something is still not okay. Hopefully he'll be able to address it soon.

I would. Anytime someone tries to push it up a nxt whale takes a shit.

So when is the snapshot for the child chain? Is it from october 12th till 3 rd quarter 2017? Or is it just the day of the child chain release?
The Ignis (default child chain) snapshot is in Q3 2017, the day when Nxt 2.0 is launched on live net. One time snapshot. It was announced few months ago and there's been no other announcement.

How are assets affected by a split in the original chain? Which consensus supports each and every previous asset build and which would lose those, if any?
There is no split in the original chain. Nxt goes on and will go on, with all the existing assets in the exchange. Ardor is not a fork, is a new platform developed from Nxt.
If any asset issuer wants to migrate partially or completely their asset to the Ardor platform once it is live, that is a separate matter. In the upcoming months, the Ardor/Nxt developers can give their assessment about how to make such moves in the case of Nxt > Ardor, but nowhere in the Ardor roadmap it is implied that existing Nxt assets need to move anywhere.
