Great article! I'm in Nxt for a few months now and all the features still dazzle me. This article is a great user-friendly overview of Nxt and the cool stuff that is going to happen.  Smiley

That is bad. Hopefully it won't cause problems before I can download a proper client.

is the wallet safe even if its just beta? i have quite a few NXT. should i transfer them in the wallet or keep them in the exchange?

You mean the official Wesley client? Yes it's safe.

We were talking about old Android app

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.nextcoin.nxtclient

Who is the developer of that app? Does anyone know?

https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,797.120.html

That's what it says:

Quote
Don't  worry about the security, most of the functions don't need your secret phrase. Only making transactions will need that, just don't make any transactions will be ok
.

Confirming that android app will send your passphrase to public node if you make transaction with that app.

That's really bad.

Is there any way to contact the developer and tell him about prepareTransaction API?

Thanks for the heads up. Will be moving to Wesley's client later today, assuming I have anything left to move...

What a great news! The client looks amazing also. I was thinking when it's time to buy some Nxt and when the price will be lowest. I guess it's only up from now on.

the new wesley client is awesome. very clean and fresh. only missing multi account capabilitys like in solaris. but you can set aliases i have 2 linked to accounts "fema" and "nxtforgelease" which i will be hoping to do an escrow forge power leasing. i.e you send me the tx for the forge lease in btc or what ever medium chosen and the forge leaser leases to my account so i can see it forging. once lease terminates all nxt forged will be sent minus a fee for the tx and the coins saved for the escrow are sent out to the leaser minus my fee. (only if people adopt this idea.)

bitcoin is not a bubble, it is the pin
a truly decentralized platform brings endless possibilities. potential to be as big as internet, bigger than bitcoin or facebook. let's hope NXT get this right. can't wait for the AE launch.

Just a clarification for you:

1) a Nxt wallet is as save as its passphrase
2) there are different clients out there that are able to display your wallet

=> use a large passphrase 35 characters at minimum
=> use well tested clients like the wesleyh client

What Android app?

I don't think we have any android app yet that can be used safely. The one that we have sends passphrase to public node.

Really? That is bad. Nobody should use that one.

its an old app from January or something, I think. I am pretty sure it sends passphrase to public node. Is the developer still around?

We should have a bounty on proper Android nxt app that is regularly updated.

Hmm, weird. Sending from an Android app and it's not recording the transaction.
