Seeking Additional Java Developers
We have successfully decompiled the Nxt source and are now in the process of performing a massive refactoring and cleanup of the code base.
Short term goals.
Remove the primitive addressing scheme and use a scheme that looks like Bitcoin. Bitcoin addresses are more readable, have a checksum and have many tools to generate them. Nxt addresses that are all numerical are something that came out of the 1950's.
Secure Wallet. Nxt wallet is fundamentally insecure. Exposing a wallet to the public internet for everyone to hack is just idiotic. No wonder so many Nxt users have lost money!
Nxt does not use an internal database like every other alt coin. This is idiotic because NXT nodes easily fail and run out of memory. Furthermore, if you accidentally turn off your node... your wallet can get corrupted!
NEX strives not only to be a fairer distributed Nxt variant, but a technologically super version.

I am watching this NEX melodrama with a combination of fascination and horror but Friction Clown is making two very important points that need to be addressed seriously here and not by attempting to out troll him.
It DOES seem idiotic to expose NXT accounts directly to internet hacking, even to me and I understand the math. This seems idiotic on an emotional level that overwhelms facts and reality and logic. It will cause people who do not understand math to reject NXT and that is bad. Soooooo.....one more time with my pet peeve...WE NEED AN ACCOUNT FREEZE CODE CAPABILITY A USER CAN LOAD INTO THE BLOCKCHAIN AS A PAID MESSAGE THAT ALL NODES WILL RECOGNIZE AND REJECT ALL TRANSACTIONS OUT OF THIS ACCOUNT UNTIL A USER REVERSES IT AND TURNS IT OFF WITH A SECOND PASSWORD. I think this could have stopped EVERY example of NXT theft / loss we have seen so far. If this is a bad idea, somebody tell me why and shut me up. If it's not a bad idea, let's implement it and shut Friction Clown up, sooner rather than later.
FC is also right that non-error correcting endless numeric addresses are idiotic and right from the 1950s. We should commit to the discussed Reed Solomon NXTXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX address format and get into the 1990s. Even if it does look like a windows authentication code it is user friendly and gets the job done.
And out of curiosity...just what DOES happen if a chosen node goes down in the middle of forging a block?
NEX is a joke but a potentially deadly one if we do not respond quickly to its legitimate criticisms.
oh man, this is extrem cool stuff, while it seems some people taking this as a prototype/joke coin i see this more as a powerfull new component to complete
CfB has noted that this is a serious effort and will be his entry for the AM contest.

Something tells me that all this :: clone business is NOT going to be very funny once eMunie and Ethereum IPOs start.
Both will end up being worthy competitors IMO.

As someone that has been in NXT early on and have been an eMunie beta member I wish both the best

I very much doubt Emuine's supply and demand model. It is not going to work and people will see soon enough. Nothing can prevent the wild fluctuation of concurrency especially in early stages. Attempt to do so only lead to disasters.
I am not so sure about Ethereum. A lot of hype in early stages. The founders go to conferences to market its IPO and its market cap would probably bigger than NXT right after its launch.
But let's wait to see which product could actually bring useful functionality to the masses. So far only Bitcoin being able to do so. The first platform could bring usable and stable decentralized stock exchange and decentralized crowed funding platform to the table would win this market.
I sure expect NXT will be able to do so. But we need to focus. Bring the asset exchange to the table, make it stable and usable to the masses and we will win.

Making a joke out of FrictionlessCoin's efforts and fooling around is one thing... facing reality in regard to the progression and advancement of other REAL cryptocurrencies with similar features to NXT is another.
We can set TPS limit to 1000 if price becomes too low. U forgot about our main advantage - Transparent Forging.

ethereum ipo starts in less than a week time, emunie has had plan for another (new) round of IPO in Feb, and we are still wasting time trolling/ entertaining trolls here ...
can just ignore the trolls (particularly fc) and focus our energy on pushing Nxt full speed ahead imho.

Does it generates NXT? Or does it generate your own coins and you can exchange them for NXT (if anyone is interested)? It'S 100% POW, right?
It's 100% PoW that is protected against 51% attacks by Nxt PoS. And u will be able to exchange these coins on nxts and back in a completely trustless manner.

the nxt puzzle. while i said some weeks ago nxt has an additonal big advantage - right time, right place - which implicate coincidence, i am not as sure anymore
there is not a predefined, very well thoughted masterplan behind all this, even if i can't see any obvious pattern at the moment but picking up tons of miners, looking
where to place thier older mining gear and to satisfy natural needs is just brilliant. -> let the transactions glow and rotating nxt in endless loops within nxt-space!
