THese things should've been decided and I am downright shocked by CfB's actions after having talked with him on skype just yesterday aobut this.

Don't worry. This is my personal 250K, I paid 0.005 BTC for them. Smiley

Well then you are obviously allowed and in the right to do whatever you want with them. But then what happens with the "left over NXT" ?
And why did we suddenly abandon the committee plan that nearly everyone was a proponent of?

I updated my javascript project for the bounty:

https://github.com/BloodyRookie/nxtCrypto

I think a test should at least include chrome and firefox because those 2 are probably the most comon browsers.

Thanks for doing this work! We need JS crypto badly. Hope you'll get the bounty Wink

About JS and 64 bit math. Has anyone researched GWT? I think it supports/emulates it.

If anyone needed Indonesian translator for some marketing articles or anything
I'm more than willing to work my fingers off!

Indonesia is like biggest untapped resources in the world of cryptocurrency.
Most people here barely know about bitcoin. So chance for Nxt would be huge if we can penetrate market.
Been working on several wiki pages and will continue to do so.

Just contact me if anyone interested!  Smiley

Huge market indeed. Thank you for your work.

There is a Bitcoin Meetup in London coming up next week on January 21:

http://www.meetup.com/London-bitcoin-meetup/events/159181392/

We need to get a few Nxters there to promote and educate people on Nxt.

So come on, that guy from the Moore's Traditional Museum, his friend from Tower Gardens or even our buddy from the Hoebridge Golf Centre, aren't you interested? Cheesy

Buump Cheesy

A new video, a new article, a new guerilla whatever is not enough.

Go to big news sites, go to big bitcoin shows, go to big names to talk about NXT.

Does no-one realize that we had enough of videos and articles?

We are already sending people to the biggest Bitcoin conferences and might even get a stand and speaker position at these events, but hey we got zero NXT to do it with, so we pay from our own wallet. Isn't that nice and fair?
The guys who do all the work has to pay for it too Smiley

If you really got nothing so far, somebody like CfB should look into it. I'm thankful for your energy and time!

It's not really about me. It's mor about the team I am managing too, aswell as salsacz. CfB is very aware of this, but I don't think he wants to hand out NXT to anyone as he wants the community to decide, something I approve 100% of, but the way he goes about it is just so haphazardly. At first we were going to have a organized committee, then a couple of forum posts said something and he decided "ok let's just send salsacz 250K and see what happens". It was decided on a whim and suddenly the entire marketing project was decided there and then.
It's just careless and wrong in my opinion.

I have endorsed Salsacz work to CfB before, so he knows that I support salsacz completley, but we are more people and it should be a lot more organized. That's all.
I'm not asking for handouts. I was given 10K by neer.g
neer.g is the only stakeholder that has actually given out any NXT to any of our projects.

Go sleep or something. You've been yelling for hours now, nothing constructive coming from your fingers.

You've worked on NXT marketing? You mean e-mailing bter, as you've mentioned 8 or 9 times today? Such a selfish community, not giving you a huge reward for your effort.

Based on the way you're acting out I hope you have nothing to do with the organization and marketing of NXT, or else I might start to have serious doubts of the human capital involved in this project. So hopefully you're not as influential as you might think.

Cute Smiley It's so fucking cute to see the people who have not been involved with the development of NXT at all think they know who the big players are because they hang around in a forum thread Smiley
Have you ever been to the nxt forum?

I bring up the BTer part due to 2 things:

1) People wanted to reward BTER for adding NXT, something I objected to due to it leaving a very negative view of NXT.
It would make people think BTER was paid to add NXT or that we are indirectly bribing other exchanges to add NXT.

2) Because it shows how effective marketing can be. Such a seemingly small event caused the price to jump 100%
This can and will happen again, the next time it'll probably be due to news articles that are being published (we got connections that are working on it). Or when the Euro to NXT exchange adds us. Or when someone famous endorse us.

It's time to take marketing serious (it has been this time for over a month actually). Simple as that. I'd love to see your contributions to NXT

... moreover it will scale later to any size we need and trusted
servers
will complete the decentralized infrastructure to keep clients lean, fast and very lightweighted,
this is the way to go. the core has to be the ultimative working horse, the client is using it's first class
api.

So we will have decentralized infrastructure built on top of the set of the servers? So each time when you do login to your lightweight client you do depend on the trusted servers and their api.
Doesn't it look like the structure centralized around the trusted servers?

Please calm. 250K sent already. 3 million marketing plan has been tentatively approved. As long as results come in, regular 250K payments will be sent. Marketing is simply a cost that needs to be spent. 250K per month is 3 million NXT per year. that seems enough to get a lot more marketing done than before.

All the sausage making can be done at nxtcrypto now. There is funding. This thread will just be there for the progress announcements.

The point is: we want something official. As the price grows, suddenly people become more and more reluctant to spend on the work we do.
I got thanked by BTer for suggesting them to add NXT, they did, price grew 100%, did I get anything in return? NO. People wanted to reward BTER instead Smiley
This community is so ungrateful and selfish that it's painful.

We are sending people to the official bitcoin conferences from our own fucking wallets. Why aren't the NXT fund being spent on this?

Of course I am pissed, I have witnessed this selfish ungratefulness for over a month now and for some fuckedup reason this thread is still seen as the "official" place where these decisions is made, eventhough ALL the PR work are being done by us on the nxt forum. MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE and I am fuckng tired of it

Fair play for sending an email to a shit scam exchange mate, these devs sit on their asses all day doing sweet fuck all when it's people like you that built nxt.

Every community has a idiot like you.
Who the hell has said anything negative about the devs?
How the fuck do you even compare the two things?

We are a team of people (me, salsacz, nifty, justabit and a few more) who have worked hard on NXT marketing and organizing for over a month and we have not been paid shit for it and none of us are stakeholders.
And even the times we have plead with the community to start giving funding to these projects that is the corner stone of succes: we get zero recognition for it.

You must be too dumb to operate a computer safely if you do not understand this, so please log off.

No you're just a skank mate

can you please explain why Bter.com are considered as scams, or post a link, I’m a bit confused now

If you flick through the last 10 pages of their official threads it's just full of unanswered complaints about money going missing, there volumes almost nothing. and the daily withdrawal limit of next is 200 or aprox $10usd!!

Official threads here and a search of Bter.com pulls up nothing but scam complaints as shown below:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.4585502

http://bitkoins.com/discussion/86007/bter-com-is-a-criminal-enterprise-stealing-coins-please-use-twitter-to-notify-world/p1

Lastly I'd like to congratulate Uniqueorn for sending them an email and it's sickening you're not being compensated for your time.

So we all moving onto the dotnxt client now. Trusted? Safe? Are we promoting this client now until nexerns release?
Not me, that's for sure. With all respect to minusbalancer for his work, I think it is a dead end. What's the point of having a reverse-engineered, incomplete client that will run on windows only? We have a Java server that is getting better every day, what we need is a well designed and fully cross-platform GUI for it, not an alternative implementation.

Assuming 0.5.9 is as stable as I hope it is and there are no critical bugs, my next step will be a major refactoring of the code, 0.6.0 will no longer be a single java file. Next, I will add persistence of blocks and transactions in a database instead of using serialized files, and will no longer keep all of them in memory. If minusbalancer used decompiled sources to base his .NET implementation on, he will have to catch up with my changes and bugfixes, and come up with his own solution for the blockchain persistence. And spend time and efforts tracking down and fixing bugs that are already fixed in the Java version, and introduce his own bugs in the process. I really don't see the point.

I don't understand why all developers don't work togehter on a multi-platform client which is easy to use, secure and DAU-safe and based on Jean-Luc's work. It should work without a browser. That would be great. For me, I only promote Jean-Luc's client on Nextcoin.org - and I hope developers like nexern & marcus03 and all others would think about to work together on ONE client.

BTW: Maybe some of the developers of JDownloader want to get into this? They are experts in Java.

WOW amazing indeed. World class work.

The only thing I saw that could be different is @12s where you say "too slowly" as it should be "too slow".
Also background music along the lines of what minute physics or veritasium have, would be the final touch.

Excellent video.

in general is OK, but i don’t like that in the beginning you say that Bitcoin is shit , bitcoin is fuckng nr. 1 no mather what,
odnt forget if it wouldnt be bitcoin there wouldnt be NXT , so stop saying that bitcoin is bad ... just don't , you can say something like this :

"Let's face it , we all love Bitcoin with all our heart, but NXT is the next big thing thanks to Bitcoin! "

Yes, we should be careful what to say about bitcoin. Otherwise, it could sound immature: "all is shit, only we are perfect"

There is a distinct bias towards dev work in the community.
Not surprising, seeing the initial group that would use any crypto, especially an innovative one.

However, I've seen a lot of work seen go unrecognised, too.
The people who keep the sites and wikis running spend hours a day keeping stuff up to date.
If the sites weren't there, this would be the only place Nxt would be seen and it would fail.

Also, the calls for funds do not go into the pockets of these people as "stash" but are prespent on buying domains, webspace, or tickets to go to conferences.

I already said earlier there is a tendency to negatively comment on marketing, as if it's in some way dirty and people asking for funds are asking for free Nxt.
Not by all, but it's there. Imagine if that were done to the devs who put in shitloads of hours.

I can't speak for others, but the time and money I put in is spent because
a) I believe in Nxt and want it to succeed.
b) I don't have dev skills, but don't just want to sit on the side, but actually contribute.

To hear someone say that such people are shitheads that basically think they are great and the devs are not makes me more than a little angry.

Now, having said that, I am going to eat, chill a bit and come back with some more positive attitude.

The thing is: people seem to think that as long as the tech is good enough, then everything should go smoothly. Unfortunately that is not how the real world works. If it was then Justin Bieber is the new Mozart and Honey Boo Boo is the new Breaking Bad.
PR means nearly everything in a incredibly competitive market. There are new altcoins popping up all the time, by the time I have finished this post here is probably a new altcoin called "yetanothercoin".
NXT got a lot of features (upcoming) that no other coin has, this is true, but there are more second generation coins coming like eMunie, Ethereum, Skycoin etc. and competition will just 10fold when things become open source.

This is why we need marketing, to establish ourselves. Theoretically the multi millionaire Bitcoin twins (Winklevoss) could invest a few million dollars in a second generation cryptocurrency and spend millions of dollars on marketing. This is things that can happen that would suddenly make whatever they invest it in superfamous and widely used compared to NXT.

People don't seem to understand this.

Why did the price increase yesterday? Was it because of some new awesome feature? No. It was due to bter adding NXT. That is the power of marketing. It's time people realize and get their priorities straight.

Well the only reason i am working on my client is to have a click and install or even click and run client, so I do not have to be admin on local machine to use it. It should be small in terms of memory footprint and function to cover the client needs, not the node needs. So I could put it on usb stick and use where i want. It will never happen with Java implementation at least on Windows.

Unfortunately the up-to-date source of the NRS is not published so i have to use decompiled version to catch up with the changes and stay up to date.

Yeah OP did you have vanity address on all 3?

something about vanity coding a 64 char account # when you could just buy an alias makes me say WTF

No, that is the thing, i only used the vanity generator for 1 address, and some others while i was doodling around. The majority of funds where on a random password address.

I have aliases, but i still think vanity addresses look awesome.

Had a long night replacing all the passwords on my other accounts and emails and onlinebanking ect. One strange thing i noticed was that i have some funds on exchanges, that were not touched, ONLY the NXT accounts were touched. They didn't even try to enter my gmail accounts to reset something or get additional info. Very strange all.

Sad shit right there.
