The recent hack a few months ago was due to the avatar script. There is/was a bug in the current forum software which allowed the hackers to gain access to something. (I didn't followed it, I don't know that much about it.)

Is just up to you. Speaking about percentage profit is the same if you buy 1NxT or 100,000NxT.

Take in mind that NxT is the first and the only one 100% PoS currency Grin

I changed a few lines and now the avatar and signature are being saved as .gif! The quality isn't that good anymore, but forums.nxtcrypto.org couldn't allow the standard format .png on their forums. So I have to adapt.

For the initial concept, I agree with Cfb that NXT's POS is just more elegant than this modified POW design. They may have been too much influenced by the asic miner cartel to think out of the box.

But there is an interesting debate between Dan from BitShares and Charles from Ethererum here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ethereum-2nd-gen-cryptocurrency-with-contract-programming-dagger-hashing-412878 whose main issue is whether we go for a mega blockchain or separate blockchains for different applications. I think Luc and Cfb are well aware of the issue of how much of a load our bockchain can take. We may have to prioritize most important applications to put on top of our protocol.

Given the mixing issue, I would suggest to have service providers to open coin mixing services instead of having a mixer at low level protocol. It may cause a heavier burden for the blockchain than what we can get in benefit.
