This one is ugly. It is like calling you "ul" or "yC". There are 3 elements, just save them all

Full chain like this is much better (but there is a mistake in forum link. Single t)

Would u be available for a skype or google hangout interview to discuss the source code n ur findings in a non technical manner like andreas antonopoulus so myself n other non tech folks can understand what has been written?
In a non technical manner:
- there're no known flaws that cannot be fixed;
- most of flaws found in source is already fixed in 0.5.0 (source is 0.4.7);
- code is not perfect, but is not ugly; it requires refactorings mostly, not a full rewrite;
- code is simple and understandable for those who work with java and familiar with cryptocurrencies, so analysis will continue.

Thats's all.

hello everybody

I have been involved with NXT since early December. I am a firm believer in its technologies and have become
a full convert to NXT. Being an advocate for NXT, I decided to make several infographics to help promote NXT.
I have originally posted them on nextcoin.org, under the username silversurfer. I am submitting my work here
to partake in the bounty and hopefully in generates some positive feedback. In addition I hope the stakeholders
can find some value in my work and consider me for the bounty. Either way, I am a firm believer in NXT and hope
everyone enjoys the infographics. Here they are:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/d0bvchrxqahwwu1/NXTvsBTC.png
https://www.dropbox.com/s/1ucwbhutar5t8f2/nxtvslite.png
https://www.dropbox.com/s/d4rkob6fgmh6307/NXTVSPPC.png

I would like to give a special thanks to Uniqueorn over at nextcoin.org
He has been doing some wonderful things in trying to collaborate, coordinate, and organize the promotional efforts
for NXT. I firmly believe he deserves one of the biggest bounties and has recognized talented individuals within the
community to bring NXT to the masses.

Thanks

These are awesome! Very professional. Thanks for the hard work!

I like these too. Now that the logo has been finalized, size and shape should be determined in representation and branding, I don't like the way it's represented on Nextcrypto.org for example,
http://www.nxtcrypto.org/sites/default/files/nxt-coin/nxt-coin160.jpg

where about 50% of the logo is on the "coin" itself,  VRV's version is more in-line with what was made by Hash, but I feel the logo should cover a "coin" representation edge to edge.
Just a quick mock-up. all credit of original logo by Hash of course.

I have been looking at the source and ignoring the formatting style (everyone hates any formatting that is not their own) the code is quite clever.

In several places I thought I found an off by one error, or control flow problem, but so far the code is written to run efficiently and cleverly. Not much waste within the context of JAVA that will run on everything, which is quite a big requirement for something like NXT.

People complain about one it just being one file, but I myself do that until it gets to 10000 lines or so. It helps the compiler generate more optimized code, at least for C, if it is all in one file as linking is only to libraries. It is also much easier to make a release, just one file instead of many.

I am not familiar with all the JAVA built in classes, but there appears to be very little code for what NXT does and usage of the built in classes is part of the reason. I can see why jean-luc wanted to refactor the code. My impression is that this was written by a single person, not a team, but I have no basis for that other than a gut feel.

James

P.S. For those of you worried that the trolls will announce some sort of "source code is rotten" tirade with any merit, you can rest easy. Source code appears to be the work of a super-genius with a strange formatting style (indentation, spacing, eg. doesn't affect any actual code)

Would u be available for a skype or google hangout interview to discuss the source code n ur findings in a non technical manner like andreas antonopoulus so myself n other non tech folks can understand what has been written?

Hi Jean-Luc, CFB and others interested;

I'm ready with that client side implementation of an SHA256 test. I would like some people to test this. I have tested it on the latest Safari, Firefox, and chrome.

As far as I know this will only run in IE10+, earlier versions of IE are not supported.

You can download the files here: http://nxtra.org/update/update.zip

Unzip, then go to your nxt folder and navigate to webapps > root. Paste the two files there.

Now you should be able to open http://localhost:7874/update.html in the browser.

For this test you will always receive the update notice. An older version is hardcoded in. This is to allow for testing of the sha256 hashing function.

Just follow the instructions; download the client, and then drop it over the dropzone to see if it compares to the official release.

If all goes well you should see this screen:

Now also test it with another file, just a simple txt file or another zip, it doesn't matter. Just pretend this is a fake release.

If that goes well, you should see the following:

I hope this will increase the security of everyone, if you have any feedback, please share.

My Nxt ID for donations is: 3209075099254042753 - any donation is appreciated.

Thank you,
Wesley

This is an excellent idea... i mentioned something like this in my video on how to install nxt client that there needs to be some confirmation message to let the user know when the installation is complete n correct.  Is this in the new client?

Except for the extra low resolution. What's up with that? It's barely legible.

I'll take party in a private gathering/meeting with top exchanges of China and some other companies and investors in Beijing around next Thursday. I will give a short introduction of Nxt to them. Any suggestion for me and some promotional materials?

Thanks.

"The exchange is and will be always the most competing market. The exchange business is also a long term business even though in the short term the business may loss a lot due to different problems. A business man should take charge of it, not the customers take charge of the loss of a platform. On the other hand, the community may donate to those volunteers, but not the business man"

I personally hope more and more exchanges join in the markets, they will also act some role even p2p trade takes in effect.

My project nxt-kit is somewhere there

Code:
cd ~/nxt-kit/distrib
wget http://info.nxtcrypto.org/nxt-client-0.5.0.zip
sha256sum nxt-client-0.5.0.zip # check
unlink nxt.zip
ln -s nxt-client-0.5.0.zip nxt.zip
ansible-playbook -v -f 10 ~/nxt-kit/playbooks/deploy.yml

And all VPSs were updated to 0.5.0

I repeat again: Add links to projects and profiles.

Jean-Luc Put me in but did not link to this article I wrote, which has somehow found its way onto forums and wikis all over the place, and in many cases translated to different languages.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3980304
for whatever reason, that link goes to the top of the page, the article is about 1/2 down

Its been more than a day that public nodes respond with:
Code:
for N in {1..100}; do curl --silent "http://node$N.nxtbase.com:7874/nxt?requestType=getState" | python -m json.tool | grep '"lastBlock"'; done
    "lastBlock": "2680262203532249785",
    "lastBlock": "2680262203532249785",
    "lastBlock": "2680262203532249785",
    "lastBlock": "2680262203532249785",
    "lastBlock": "2680262203532249785",
    "lastBlock": "2680262203532249785",
    "lastBlock": "2680262203532249785",
    "lastBlock": "2680262203532249785",
    "lastBlock": "2680262203532249785",
    "lastBlock": "2680262203532249785",
Huh
Other nodes that accept public request returns, what appears to be a valid lastBlock...
However, all public node*.nxtbase.com nodes, for days, still returns same lastBlock 2680262203532249785.  Undecided

 I'm working on this. They seem to have gotten stuck after the upgrade yesterday.
Still stuck...  Cry
