NRS 0.4.8 is ready and can be downloaded from:

http://info.nxtcrypto.org/nxt-client-0.4.8.zip

sha256: ec7c30a100717e60d8abe50eedb23641952847d91ff90b9b05a74ff98d8a4cf2

From now on I will also be posting the latest version number and sha256 as the value of NRSversion alias on the blockchain: https://localhost:7875/nxt?requestType=getAliasURI&alias=nrsversion

Change log:

- Added Transparent Forging, will be turned on at block 32000.
- Memory leak fixed.
- Send money from the browser now also asks for the secret phrase.

There is only one new parameter in the web.xml, myPlatform. It is used to announce your platform - PC, Mac, Raspberry, NeXTstation, VAX, zombie...

The zip file does not contain blocks.nxt and transactions.nxt. Make sure you preserve your own *.nxt files before upgrading!

Can we please have it also as latest.zip symlinked there, so that users always know how to download the latest.

Starting to deploy now.

Just tried to send a small amount to account = X , but money was sent to absolutely another address. Twice!

WTF!

When you withdrew Nxt from your NxtChg account, it was sent to a Nxt address you didn't specify?

I didnt speak about NxtChg (it's still a fantasy exchange) , i sent money from NXT Wallet.

I did the same the other day and I now have over 100,000 NXT stuck in an account I cannot access. I'm 100% sure the address I sent to is not the one it arrived at. You don't move 100,000 coins without double checking the account number. If you come up with a fix let me know. Just consider yourself lucky it was only a small amount.

@CfB,

what's the point of deadline anyway?

Bitcoin doesn't have it (or does it? I never had to set it, maybe it's some kind of default and automatic in the code?). Maybe it's bad that it doesn't have it, and NXT does. But can you explain in layman terms please why NXT needs a deadline?

If u send bitcoins ur transaction can lost in limbo, noone knows if it will be confirmed in 2 days. With deadline u, at least, known when u can resend the transaction without a risk of double-sending.

Ok, so that's an improvement over bitcoin. Good to know that.

Hi,
I just sent some nxt to an adrress, I set the deadline to 24 hours.
but 10 minutes passed, the transaction did not appear in "my transactions" page,
should I send again?

So I just generated an orphaned block under my client ID. Is there a way I can retrieve this block?

Why would it have been orphaned?

U could try to outpace other forgers and if u succeed ur chain will be accepted by the others.

If was orphaned coz someone else forged a longer branch.

Wait till it expires to avoid double sending payment

I wonder if the transaction was broadcasted,
since it did not appear in "My transaction" page
