I observed null pointer exception if I used NRS client version from raspberry client distribution which somebody created here today. I replaced NRS with version which worked for me (on Mac OS X) to avoid obstacles on Raspberry Pi.

My raspberry pi is running now, I had to use downloaded nrs client in my raspberry. The client from distribution was giving me null pointer exception.

I have private shared IP. So not sure if you can access my client directly with an IP address. But should be available via NXT network.

Only twice the price, looks significantly more powerful... I think they ship mid-January (useless for current ddos intent).

Given the 2GB of ram, I'm hoping it's more Java-friendly than the Pi.
