Please, will it worked with Bitcoin address on exchanges? I don't want to miss this opportunity to get free ByteBall tokens

It will not, don't do it. Has to be from a private wallet, else the exchange will get it.

Anyone else getting a "Uncaught exception: Error: missing or empty parent units array" message?

Pops up after a few seconds and then closes the App.

It was working fine earlier.

I'm getting the same error message.

What is not fair by getting what you pay for. If I have more money than you and am able to buy something that you cannot or the same amount, why should I take on the burden

In this case you don't pay for or buy anything, you just come to the store and say I'm rich and you get more stuff than if who had said I'm poor ...

In transition.byteball.org when I sort by balances (ascending order) starting from page 11 (when I checked), there seems to be a bug with the shares allocated to the smallest amounts. Maybe the small pockets will get a better share after all Smiley.

Lol there is definitely a rounding error bug or something.

Someone should come up with a fair and wide way to distribute coin both here and in the outside world.

It is impossible unless everyone are tracked and monitored at all times, total surveilance, and gathered data is public. A couple of years more, maybe a decade, I think.  Undecided

This distribution suffers the fate of most crypto distros in that the rich gets richer etc. and there is no fair way to distribute either here or anywhere else. The real distribution starts when the whales dump their Bytes to the smaller whales who dump to even smaller whales etc. Someone should come up with a fair and wide way to distribute coin both here and in the outside world.

It just goes against the principal stated in the OP: "I believe the success of a currency depends on the number of people who own it, in fact Peter R’s research suggests that historical marketcap of Bitcoin follows Metcalfe's law: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/empiricalmathematical-method-to-choose-which-cryptocurrency-community-to-join-572106, i.e. it is proportional to the square of the number of active users."

So, the dev team, wants to distribute to as many users as possible but end up giving most away to a few users. They are not asking for payment, so it's not a question of getting what you paid for, just a flawed way of distributing.

Well, he's only giving away 10% at this point right, so it's not most. Also, do decision has been announced re: ICO addresses, so he could still change his mind for this round or subsequent rounds.

Developer here unfortunately opted for waaaay too complicated and "unfair" method of distribution. It would be much better if forum accounts were used in a following way:

1. One must have account older than 1 month counting from the date starting post was made.
2. One must have a certain amount of activity points, to remove inactive and unused accounts from participation.
3. Install Byteball wallet then add your Byteball address at the top of your signature (increases Byteball visibility on this forum for free!).
4. Copy profile link ( https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/sisar-515876 ) somewhere at byteball.org website
5. Bot would scrap data from user profile and put all valid entries into database for coin distribution.

That would solve an issue where someone gets thousands times more coins than most others. No single person here have even 100 accounts that would pass the test hence the worse case would be multiaccount owner gets less than 100 times more coins than people who have just one account. Proposed procedure is also much much easier for noobs (not total ones) to follow and claim coins.

Isn't the point being made by OP that as much people as possible should be able to obtain a stake?

Proposed method would surely result in much more individuals getting coins and smaller difference when it comes to amount of coins obtained by each person than currently used method. Everyone already participating in this giveaway found about it exactly here at forum but given that no Byteball signature "campaign" was started (the way it could be done as noted in step 3.) it is for sure that many here will miss the deal simply because they are not checking altcoins section frequently enough which should not be the reason good enough to exclude them from participation.

There would be no need for deadlines. The moment one passes the test he or she gets the coins. That means even people who would stumble upon Byteball years in future would get their share. There can even be a happy-hour moments where conditions (account date and activity) would be relaxed.

2000 transactions for an address.
it's not a private wallet.

It's not, this seems like an ICO address, these addresses are accepted by the bot ...

soo at that time only the snapshot will happen or also instant distribution?

Does anyone know if the distribution will happen automatically just after midnight?

The distribution will take place several hours after the snapshot, as stated in the first post:

Quote
I'll announce the exact block number several hours after this block is mined (the waiting time is to exclude the slightest chance of reorg).  The bytes and blackbytes will be sent out in the afternoon of December 25.
