expose whatever your risk/greed sensors tell you is OK. If you get something for nothing then you got something for nothing (that's a good thing). If you lose your BTC, then your risk/greed sensors were wrong. Happens all the time. Relax - this isn't coercive - nobody will mind if you opt out.

dude if u understand a tiny bit of how bitcoin technology works u would understand there is no risk involved that ur BTC get stolen

all u do is send a tiny transaction or sign a message in both case u dont give away ur private key

not so sure about that: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Address_reuse#Known_attacks
So, does it unsafe to sign a message? Huh

eventually.

ok that's a bit scary, so essentially someone can get your private keys, as in here?

http://www.nilsschneider.net/2013/01/28/recovering-bitcoin-private-keys.html

What's also strange is that the first line of the article says he discovered this on the 25th December.... The deadline for linking your btc address..

It's not unsafe to sign a message, no more so than spending coins from an address. In both cases you expose your public key, not your private key. Maybe at some point in the future people could deduce your private key from your public key, but that is like far future quantum computing shit. At this moment there's nothing unsafe about it.

So is signing safe or not wtf?

so far no attack is known, but in the past there have been attacks just by using a signature. at least thats how i understand it.

🍓 BALIK Never DM First
Great to have several trading options available right from the start!

Users yassinnxt and seccour are offering their escrow service in the #trading channel on slack.

Cryptox.pl is going to add new market GBYTE/BTC (Giga Byteball), start is planned on 2016-12-27 0:00.

Happy trading everybody!  Grin

Is there a Byteball Slack or is it hosted by another Slack Team?
You can get your invite here: http://slack.byteball.org/

The "chat with the Transition Bot" isn't working for me on 2 different broswers and on mobile.
Am i missing something? Please help  Sad
What version are you using? I'm using livenet version and it works to me, just try to use livenet version then tell me if it works to you.

Lol, that's fucking lame to allow Waves, Lisk, Kmodo ICO funds to join Byteball ICO as they will do nothing to contribute to the community and will immediately dump for their own benefit. Just shows all of these projects are just pump and dump shitcoins. Oh well, that's why Bitcoin is dominating right now, rightfully so.

This I agree. Those ICO fund should not be allowed to join. It is not their BTC, I'd consider it as borrowed money. They should be excluded unless they want to distribute it to their creditors.

For those of you feeling paranoid (I get it), try looking at it this way - if it is a scam, it would be one of the biggest scams evarr, and very very elegant. It's now some $60 million worth of BTC and growing fast. Would you miss a chance to be part of that, even as a victim? Think of the epic stories you could tell your grandchildren!         Wink

My assessment is that tonych will do better by playing it straight rather than scamming, but then I felt that way about Butterfly Labs and Mt. Gox, so you never know. That's why it's called "risk". Tony had me at DAGs, I confess, which seemed so abstract and impractical back in grad school - NP Completeness theory, Garey and Johnson, my head still hurts!

Of course you can do nothing if you want, or expose whatever your risk/greed sensors tell you is OK. If you get something for nothing then you got something for nothing (that's a good thing). If you lose your BTC, then your risk/greed sensors were wrong. Happens all the time. Relax - this isn't coercive - nobody will mind if you opt out.

I will think less of you if you get something for nothing and whine that somebody else got more than you did though. Heh - no matter what one does in life somebody won't like it.

Ok, lets imagine that i wanna buy some bb on exchange, for my own money, make investing in this project. Do you think i will do it, after as i saw all this shit?
Do you think idk who is this guys (ICOs devs) and what shit they did and do, and will?

the only thing that can happen is that project fails but if enough people are involved because they are shareholder now too chances are high it will develop into something nice

Jesus fix the transition bot please

Are you sure you have the correct version installed? Do not use the TN version (testnet)  you need install the livenet version. The bot works fine..

Protip:
for last minute linking it is better to use the signing option, because you don't need to wait for slow bitcoin confirmations!  Grin

That could be a good tip if only the Transition Bot was operative...

I've just talked to the bot and he's feeling fine!  Cheesy

Are you sure you have the livenet wallet installed? It's the second row of download links on byteball.org!

Yep, it was livenet but your response made me try on a third device (wasn't working on the first two) and it all went well.  Huh
Thanks.
