What's so difficult with Gbyte units?  The coin's value is btc/gbyte, you'd end up dealing with larger numbers using MB and smaller fractions of btc when trading... and some exchanges  have a minimum btc value for trading, (Trex is 100k btc sats) minimum per trade.

But if this is changed to Mbyte, where right now 1 Gbyte = 0.05 BTC,

Then

1 Mbyte = 0.00005 BTC

Why is this better?

dont get it either. psychologicaly its making no difference, because you get all this millions of bytes anyway

What???!

Wait a minute.. Let me say again... What?Huh What do you mean psychologicaly no difference?!

There are a lot of people I know in real life, who, exposed to this, will invest in what has a small price per unit, regardless of total monetary mass (the number of units in existence). You are not .. just wrong with that affirmation, you are way off!

The argument above with "1 Gbyte = 0.05 BTC" being better for trading compared to "1 Mbyte = 0.00005" is not convincing either, because the average trading size per position is around 1-2GB's anyhow (I'm speculating here based on common sense)... and there are make tokens/coins/cryptoassets with a unit price of around 5000+ satoshis and people have no major problems trading that... Also, the average joe doesn't daily trade.

One extra argument for the price denomination cut (from GB to MB) would be that standard stock market is used to splitting shares, in order to keep prices in around the same area (of two to tree digit price).

The snake which cannot cast its skin has to die
As i stated above, based on that fraction of btc / mbyte, you couldn't even trade 1 Mbyte on trex because of the 100k minimum sats per trade requirement.  so this isn't logical to make this change.

Guys!

I have built a BYTEBALL VIDEO FAUCET and I am giving away until END OF 2017 for FREE 5,000,000 bytes for every new Byteball user:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Up5mWozjHhI

This is also a perfect tool to support the growth of Byteball community (and Byteball PRICE!)
Please help me with that!

You can also get free byteball, but even more important:
YOU CAN RAISE THE VALUE OF YOUR BYTEBALL ASSETS by spreading the news about the faucet.
The more users own and transact in Byteball, the more valuable Byteball becomes and it's price rises.
Until now, roughly 500 new users created byteball wallets and joined our community through this campaign.
This is a good way to also reach mainstream adoption of byteball.

So help me promote Byteball and increase your net worth at the same time!

But hurry up! The campaign runs until December 31 only.

Just share the video link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Up5mWozjHhI
with on your Social Media channels with some nice comments like:
"Become a Byteball Millionaire"
"Get 5,000,000 Byteball for free"
or
"First Byteball Faucet"
"Get free Byteball from the Byteball Video Faucet"

You could also post the screenshot of your wallet with the funds you've received like this guy did:
https://twitter.com/benjamim/status/946325369963114496

Thanx so much for making this community great! Let's make things happen!

What do you think of this initiative?

I agree that Gbyte is a too big unit. MB would be much more convenient  and would help for adoption. It should be not so difficult to change it as Byteball is not listed in many exchanges. Anyway in the wallet you can choose whatever unit you want.

MY RED TRUST LEFT BY SCUMBAGS - READ MY SIG
I strongly recommended someone I know just getting into crypto to put something into Byteball as a high potential/undervalued project.
He put his money into Cardano instead as it's cheaper!  Shocked

They have a nice debit card.
The same from my friends, "So expensive Ill buy a ripple instead its only 1 dollar vs 600".
#

Yup how many times do we have to tell tony to reduce this to megabytes asap?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuh

With this being ignored and the distributional method specifically knowingly to other icos i have to say it does rock confidence in the project ...

There is no point coding out something superior just to be crushed down because of simple glaring errors like these.

I think for many people its a little difficult to wrap your head around Bytes, Gigabytes and Blackbytes. ITs easier if you are grounded in CS but for everyone else its not so easy. Maybe there is some easier way to express this.

You don't need to be a computer scientist to differentiate between bytes and gigabytes. You just need common sense. Unfortunately, people seem to be swayed by the face value of coins. So yes, they may be more inclined to buy coins at $0.6/mb than $600/gb.
I am not sure that there is any way to convince the exchanges to change their notation, especially since they have a ticker for GB.

> 600 $ is cheap? what is the maximun it can be? roadmap?

thx

I've posted a suggestion earlier. It's getting ignored. The price in coinmarketcap and on exchanges should be denominated in MB, not in GB. $600 + is expensive, and ms cyborg here is just one of the few who (unfortunately) think like this. But $0.6 for 1MB is cheap!! Ms Cyborg and others like him would definitely buy 1000MB at $0.6 / MB, rather than 1 GB at $600 / GB.. which is expensive!

So... how can we list BYTEBALL in $/MB.. this will do wonders for the adoption!

I figure questions like this are simply rhetoric and rhetorical.

Asking what the maximum is can be?  Give me a break.   I'll answer though.... "Infinity and beyond"
Roadmap - There isn't one listed publicly.  Asking over and over again doesn't change the answer.

Getting ignored might be what you think.  Maybe propose a different question?   Or, it could be that no one has an answer so chooses to remain silent.

Expensive or not doesn't matter.  It's the percentage of gain you make.  People are simpletons.  Really, truely idiots and don't understand that.
Plenty of videos of people offering an OZ of Gold or a Bag of Chocolate Candy, and they all picked the Candy over the gold.  They simply don't realize the value or that they could have bought 100 Bags of Candy with that gold ounce.

People would rather have 50 OZ of Silver rather than 1 OZ of Gold.   50 is more than 1, right?

You're right!   People would rather buy "1000MB at $0.6 / MB, rather than 1 GB at $600 / GB"   Quite simply because they're morons and we need those morons to drive the price higher since they don't realize it's the same number.  I agree, it would be nice if the exchanges/coinmarketcap list Byteball in terms of MB.

it's been discussed a million times. for whatever reason it's not happening. this is one of the very simplest things to do and it would make a huge difference whether we like it or not. i can't believe that one single coin hasn't done this yet when it's so obvious.

something as huge as bitcoin can't do this without it being messy. byteball is small enough. it's byteball's loss if it doesn't happen.

I hope that the team immediately add in other exchanges to increase trading volume and can make the price skyrocket as happened with the middle of this year.

byteball should be 50% of iota ?
Why not, the technology is online.  Wink

500% of iota he meant to post. Well done I agree.

But byteball fans all hide in here telling each other how great it is whilst iota fans are all over the main alt board where the noobs arrive to find the cheap iota and expensive bb Sad
May be community should take over spreading the word about Byteball and try get it in more exchanges, but that will need money some exchanges will ask to be paid to list the coin,Ebtc Community paid 2.5Btc to be listed in coinexchange they managed to get 2.5Btc within few days using donations from the community may be we can do the same here make a Multisig wallet controlled by some reputable members like Michail1 for donation here and move from there. i guess it worth paying some money to get Byteball in some more reputable exchanges.

I would also contribute (not much) to something like this, provided your would try to list it as Mbytes not GB. It's so sad how all the noobs think it's soooo expensive

CoinDesk didn't include DAG in 2018 predictions or 2017 year in review... which I think is a partial failure for DAG coins.

Hi!

I've found that Byteball chat is very cool and working like charm, but wondering that is the Byteball chat encrypted or not?

Also would love to know that is TOR option going to be in Android wallet anytime soon?

Thanks in advance!

The chat is encrypted end-to-end.
It seems to me that TOR was removed from Android app, I don't remember why.
