Hi!

I've found that Byteball chat is very cool and working like charm, but wondering that is the Byteball chat encrypted or not?

Also would love to know that is TOR option going to be in Android wallet anytime soon?

Thanks in advance!

I think for many people its a little difficult to wrap your head around Bytes, Gigabytes and Blackbytes. ITs easier if you are grounded in CS but for everyone else its not so easy. Maybe there is some easier way to express this.

thx
Yes there's only one million GBYTE compared to 2000+ million MIOTA or 21 million BTC. Market cap is what to look at. I would say GBYTE could go to $10,000 or higher using historical prices and comparing to IOTA market cap. Roadmap is to add features and fix bugs. New exchanges may come soon also.

i just checked out GBYTE. is it now recommended to invent? future? why is it so expensive? thanks Smiley

Congrats on finding it.
It's already been invented.
Definitely has a future.
I think you're asking why it's so cheap.  It's because it doesn't have the advertising / pump&dump marketing that other coins have.

I like the faucet idea, but I can imagine Tony doesn't want to deal with thousands of faucet farmers overloading http://byteball.org/ with requests. 2000 Bytes is worth 0.07 cent, people solve captchas for less than that.

We have seen this with XRB. It became a beggar coin with constant bad mouthing about the faucet down or not properly working. I suggest not to go down that route.

Agreed... that could very easily make Byteball look like a bush league project.

Hi there Tony,
I was curious about byteball recently and looked up what you did there. I wonder why you think it is better to give witness spots to democratically elected candidates instead of giving them to the biggest wallets. I can understand that in case of collusion big wallets lose everything and on the other hand elected politics can win a lot of money and lose only trust but they can always explain their action blaming hack for example. It is counterintuitive to me and I really do not understand it. It would be a really nice incentive to hold byteball too. Imagine 12 top wallets earning bytes, accumating more and more to be a witness.

wallet size is just one of many criteria, let users decide.  And users would reasonably select those who have something to lose both within byteball and outside it.

I don't see how witnesses can win by misbehaving.

I think it would be a good idea to create a faucet with link on the main page so new users could play with the functionality of the wallet and with small amounts like 2000 bytes or something. It wouldn't cost much but would allow new users to play and learn how awesome byteball is. It's a bit frustrating after installing the wallet to see 0 bytes Sad With faucet new users would see 2000 bytes - yippee!  Cheesy

I like this idea.

Could we somehow relist Byteball on coinmarketcap with the MB denomination and price... instead of GB price? A $0.8 price / MB is easier to wrap head around .. compared to $800 / GB.. Not to mention the pshychological barrier of large numbers.

Valid but already claimed. You must have a Byteball wallet on your computer to be able to claim.

An update about future distribution plans.

So far, bytes were mainly distributed via airdrops to holders of BTC and Bytes, and a relatively small portion was distributed through the cashback program.  We started this free distribution with the purpose of getting the currency as wide spread as possible, and while the purpose stays the same, methods can change.  The airdrop method worked well to get the initial user base, but it also proved to be the least efficient in terms of user acquisition cost.

Over the next few months, we'll add more methods of free distribution.  One of them is already being developed, I expect it to be ready in the first half of December.

The new methods are designed to grow our user base faster than the money supply.

....

Sorry for the delay, the new distribution method is ready now but, to make it better noticed, it will be launched (and announced) after the holidays.

Make Byteball great!

This video got us about 500 new users in a just few days

How many Users we are now regarding this...?
Quote
One last thing.  The remaining 1% will be given away to the first 100m users who install Byteball wallet, 100 Kbytes to each user.  This will start 6 months from now or later, after we get ready for that scale.
