Why do we need this new bot? What is its zest? Can I make money on this? If so, how much?

I was linked up and received my byteball distribution in July.  Do I need to re-link everything up for the August drop or was that set up I did in July a 1 time thing?

My bytball, bitcoin and signature is looking correct on the site below.
transition.byteball.org

Any thing else I need to do or was that a set it and forget it job I did in July?  Im hoping as long as my bitcoins are chilling where I left them prior to the July I should be good to go.  Can someone please confirm.

Thanks and sorry for noob questions.

it all depends on the type of bitcoin wallet you linked to it.

is it an hd wallet like blockchain.info or mycelium?

if you spent any coins in the intervening days they'll be on a new address that'll need to be relinked or return the coins to the old address.

i think the byteball bot reports bitcoin balances to you.

I don't think you can use blockchain.info wallet. You need to use a bitcoin wallet which you can sign wallet or send a small transaction from. Try electrum.

Now we have flight delay insurance bot.  It's already added to the Bot Store.

[...]

Who funds the bot? I mean the bot can be profitable or loosing money depending on the probability and randomness of flight delays. I wonder who will eat the loss or profit?

Anyone who wants to take the risk

I don't think so. I think the bot owner is going to take profit or loss.

Imagine if someone insured flights from Qatar Airways a month ago.
The bot or the bot owner could have gone broke?!  Lips sealed

Users can buy insurance in easy to use chat interface.  They don't need to find a peer, the bot is the peer that is available 24/7.  The insurance is a smart contract, hence you don't need to trust the bot.  It is almost the same contract that you can do peer-to-peer but it is composed automatically, users need only to check the contract before paying.  The bot also reminds users when to unlock the contract.

The quotes are based on real stats provided by flightstats.com, so they vary by delay, airline, and flight.  The bot adds 5% profit margin above the probability of delay derived from the stats.

The source code is at https://github.com/byteball/flight-delays-insurance, you can use it as template for your own bots.

It will available to all country or there is only some country involve now. And how bot will track flight actually got late or it was on time.

I expect growth after August 1 to 20-30% per day. I think we will restore the pre-crisis price for 3-4 days. Easy x2 per week.

I am just bagholding, I bought and getting airdrops. I like it. Is it best just to hold for long term and wait for all airdrops to finish then we should see the price go up correct? No need trying to buy and sell what do you think?

whats the chance this airdrop is a scam to collect signed info, for some sort of hack....i know ecsda still protects your BTC, but still.....

you lose the SHA256, and RIPEMD160 protections for that address, now only having  ECDSA.

There must always be a risk for any action.....

sure you could move your coins just before and after the snap shot, but  I would expect they are ready for that.

Also who really wants to crack open cold storage? Then have to move that all around....

i know its a lonnnnnnng bow as they have to crack ECDSA ..... but yeah pump dump, and wait near end as likely more people have joined in.

If you buy GBYTES in exchanges and thinkinof getting your share in the airdrop and then hold you might eventually lose some value. But if you hold BTC and just getting your share from airdrop and sell those immediately, then you profit.

Not quite, at least not if you hold until just before the next airdrop.

Say you have 1 BTC linked and I have 1 BTC worth of GB (at current prices $2699.41/BTC and $390.28/GB) i.e. 2699.41 / 390.28 = 6.9165 GB during the coming August airdrop. After the airdrop, you'll have 0.062 GB and I'll have 6.9165 GB * 0.2 = 1.2393 GB, added to your initial balance that is 1.2393 GB + 6.9165 GB = 8.1558 GB. If we wait till just days/hours before the September airdrop when the price of GB is > $900/GB, you'll now have 0.062 GB * 900 =  $55.8 in GB and I'll have 8.1558 GB * 900 = $7,340.22 in GB.

* Any mistake in the math?  Grin

Edit: Took a hint from kaicrypzen's color coding (with edits).  Tongue

If you are talking about the projections for potential rounds after August, these are projections Smiley. They are based on the ratios of this round, these ratios can of course change, however if they stay the same then the projections become valid. If you are talking about something else, please point it out.

It's on that site. After this round according to that the distribution proprtions change.

As far as my eyes see and my math goes, I only see projections based on current ratios, mind that these ratios are also applied to what you get during each of the projected rounds. Can you please copy/paste (an example of) the info that says (makes you think) the distribution proportions will change?

... and it's compounding for you. That could be it.

Yep that's it Smiley.

For instance, let's take September's projections, It says you'll have a total of 0.1375 GB for each BTC.

If you link 1 BTC now, you'll get 0.0625 GB after August's distribution. So you'll have 1 BTC + 0.0625 GB, if you hold for September's round, and provided the rules don't change, you'll get 0.0625 (for 1 BTC) + 0.0125 (for the 0.0625 you already have). After September's round, your GB balance will be 0.0625 + 0.0125 + 0.0625 = 0.1375. The same goes for the rest of the projected rounds.

, it's written clearly on the byteball wiki. I'm on a cellphone so it ain't gonna be pretty. Maybe I'm just being stupid and it's compounding for you. That could be it.

If you did it right and got the free bytes/blackbytes, it will continue to work for the following months without you needing to do anything, as long as you don't move the bitcoins or the bytes in the linked (proven by Transition Bot) addresses.
