Airdrop lottery
An official raffle could take place via a chatbot. In order not to exploit the system existing Bytes would have to be linked again. The more Bytes are linked, the more lots will be allocated. As a price, at least a relevant amount of min. 10K or better 25K USD should be distributed. I will not raise any acquaintances for a $ 100 profit.

There is already a lottery on Byteball https://lucky.byte-ball.com/
So, I am not sure why there would need to be an official one because that would not go with the idea of "fair distribution".

bytes
I have played a lot with the existing chatbots and come across the problem of the unit "Byte". Constantly you have to switch between MB, GB and Byte. That is impractical. It sucks. Even if you put your wallet on a specific unit, then the chatbot may use another unit and you have to convert again. Bitcoin also has its pennies with Satoshis. We also need these byteball pennies for byteball. The best way to do this is to give it a new name to avoid confusion with other technical units (such as RAM).

I am not aware any bots where you would need to constantly switch between all 4 unit sizes, usually it is MB, in some other cases it is GB. Also, with bots, you actually don't need ever switch between unit sizes because wallet does that for you by sending a payment link in exact value it needs, so if the bot asks you GB or just Bytes then it doesn't matter if your wallet is set to MB. Only time when you need to switch between unit sizes is when you are doing the payment manually and somebody asked you amount in units that you wallet is not set.

So, it is little bit confusing, you say they suck, but at the same time you suggest that there indeed needs to be more that one unit size, only difference is that you suggest that there should be 2? Isn't Gigabyte and megabyte understandably bigger than just bytes? What confusion is there with RAM (that is the whole idea of bytes)? It would be great if the users even know anything about RAM because then GB and MB already makes lot more sense to them than bitcoins and satoshis. How should beginners know, which is bigger? Coins are usually the most valueless amounts in fiat and fiat usually has the notable persons on the most valuable paper notes, yet in this case, it is opposite. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It%27s_All_About_the_Benjamins

The project should attract people who use this currency sensibly: To buy goods and services.
A lottery only causes the winner to exchange his winnings for Fiat at the best opportunity.

The Byteball team is making progress - very good! The videos about the first witness and generally the team are good. Nevertheless, attention should be paid to the quality of video content. Stoning or music in the background are just not professional.

In my spare time, I think a lot about byteball and possible improvements. Here are some suggestions:

MY RED TRUST LEFT BY SCUMBAGS - READ MY SIG
Byteball has been under my radar for my portfolio since April this year.
Honestly, I bought 5 GBYTE for my portfolio and will not sell all of them at the moment.

There is room for a good 20 -50 x from here on the next bull if a few things are sorted out before then.
It is way below value right now.

Byte is going to stay, is too fundamental.

Snowbyte
Flatbyte
Rollbyte
Linkbyte
Jointbyte  Wink
Ballbyte lol

or my favs:
Witnessbyte
Witbyte<- seriously, I would choose it

Another thing is the pair name/currency.

If you put Byte first, bytes will be the currency.

If you put Byte last, name could be the currency.

For instance:
bytesnow-> byte currency, bytesnow name -> I don't like it, too complex. Also, to me, bytesnow as a currency which represent 1 byte sounds way bad.
snowbyte-> snowbyte currency, snowbyte name -> better

witbyte is dreadful I mean byteball is 100X better than that already.

I don't think the name is that bad but of course 1 word names are a fav with most people. Nano, dash etc.

I'm sure if TonyCh even allows for the possibility for a name change we can do far better as a community than that list.

The community is inert. Most likely Rogier will remain with 5-20% support and it will be impossible to change the next witness. Decentralization failed again Cry

almost all projects are now. it seems that we are doing a great thing, but somehow it turns out again and guys 1% controls all the rest 99%. what Satoshi warned about is happening all the time. as soon as there are people whom everyone knows they can be manipulated. probably only when the developers are hiding, they will be able to implement all their plans correctly.

No, it is not.

Trust is something very hard to gain but very easy to lose.

This means that, in the case of witness misbehavior, network will act fast changing it.
But if it works with the actual witnesses, why change it? The average Joe will see witnesses list on the wallet and will think "Oh, some kind of internal config, probably I must not touch".

Do not bring Mr Hyde again plz

Drop the name [...]
The label is the first impression a product makes. It unconsciously produces either rejection or approval.  In connection with bite ball black bites, I have increasingly experienced the former.
Later enquiries resulted in "no trust". Of course, none of them has been more closely involved with the project. The first impression (label) was negative.
Alternative suggestions on the part of the customers were Litecoin and Monero.

A suitable label in connection with the possibility to get the currency (bites/black bites) directly in exchange for Fiat (=> BISQ) would surely please some customers very much.
Of course there has to be a market platform that accepts this currency.

If miners were in charge really wanted big blocks , we would have big blocks right now.

^^^FTFY

Do we have big blocks? No, the miners listen to the sentiment of the community and core, as they should.

Won't happen because it sounds too similar to cunt in Estonian (vitt) and Swedish (fitta) and means fuck in Finnish (vittu).
LOL
What name would you choose?

I don't see anything wrong with the current name because my maturity level is not on same level as Beavis and Butthead, so even reversing Byteball to Ballbyte won't change anything, might just add more confusion.

I think the name also needs a story/narrative, otherwise it is just 2 random words put together.

Snowbyte keeps the current narrative, but it sounds like something what somebody would say who can't remember the word "frostbite". Oddly enough, Frostbite is already a name of a game engine.

Jointbyte has cannabis undertone. Somebody suggested Smartbyte, which I think is just lazy way to name anything. Even lazier would be Byte24.

The name of the project should be the same as the name of the currency units.

Bits and Bytes are already defined. Using it as a currency is confusing.

You mean like Ethereum has Ether, not Ethereums? Tongue I can't believe they still haven't rebranded, such a shitty name.
because they smart and don't care about so minor points

What is needed first, a currency or a market?

There is already a market for Fiat. For Cryptos it has yet to be created. Therefore the various developers should concentrate on it and cooperate accordingly (there is still a lot to improve on Open Bazaar...or maybe something completely different).

As soon as there is a market acceptance, demand and circulation of the currency increase.
And only then does scaling become relevant. Why waste valuable development time now?

But the reality is different: There are hundreds of cryptos that cannot be used except for speculation.

Powerful people were alarmed by growing popularity of byterbal. They were thinking about how to stop it. Scalable and distributed byterball represented the danger for shitcoins in the top 10. Then they found an elegant way to push the balls out of the top 100. Media attack. They hired hundreds of FUDers to spread the FUD about bitcoin distribution, bad name, lack of marketing. They always write that scalability is not needed at the current stage and this can be done at any time. That bitcoin airdrop was unsuccessful. That name is bad. That marketing is suck. Good tech. Most of them a paid FUDers. I understand people who consciously support these ideas. But stop for a moment and ask yourself the question - did you think that the name and marketing was bad when balls exploded from $20 to $1200? That the distribution was unsuccessful when slack and forums was full of users, when byterbal community was one of the most active communtiy in shitcoins space, when GBYTE was in top 40? NO no and no! This opinion is completely artificial and was planted in our heads by people who want to get rid of a strong competitor. Hold your balls dry my brothers.
