It was a close match, and Sri Lanka's bowlers did well to limit Zimbabwe's total. Hopefully, Zimbabwe can bounce back in the third ODI. It will be interesting to see how both teams perform.

Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe 2nd ODI match Zimbabwe scored 208 runs in 44.4 overs.Zimbabwe team batsmen were all out which was a good performance from Sri Lanka team.But I thought Zimbabwe team can give target of 250 runs but Zimbabwe team batsmen gave poor performance. for could not win today's match.Sri Lanka team won the match by 2 wickets.Sri Lanka team batsman Janith Liyanage scored 95 runs in 127 balls.Janith Liyanage narrowly failed to score 100 runs.Because of 95 runs Janith Liyanage was out.
Zimbabwe great fight in second odi match against Srilanka but unable to win this match beacuse of 7th wickets partnership took game away from Zimbabwe. A good stsrt by Zimbabwe Ngarava bowling good picked 5 wickets haul and Skindar raza also bowl well but the partnership and batting of Janith played very important role in Srilanka victory. Srilanka win credit goes to Janith Liyanage for his outstanding batting performance scored 95 runs also bowl 2 pvers but didn't picked any wicket and also earned the player of the match award for this brilliant match winning performance. Sirlinka now lead the series by 1-0.

Playing in their home ground and still struggling against Zimbabwe to win. When Janith Liyanage got out Srilanka had lost 8 wickets and were 20 odd runs short of the target. It was the tail that helped them to win the game against Zimbabwe and the worst was the bowlers were not able to get the wicket of the tail-enders. Both teams are the worst ODI team and the way Srilanka has been playing I won't be surprised if they do not qualify for the next 50 overs World Cup. They are on the path where WI cricket has gone.

Most of people were about flavor of SL cause they are strong enough than Zimbabwe. It came to discussion when Zimbabwe couldn't help themselves qualifying in the next world cup. But the match was thrilling yesterday. Zimbabwe effort their best to reached 208 run where Craig Ervine did performance with 82 run. I think due to effort of this man, Zimbabwe was about to change the victory. Although they failed to defeat SL as SL was so much dedicative. Which was the reason SL able to bounce back even they lost too many wickets at 112-6. But they didn't lose the hope, especially Janith Liyanage did 95 and finally won the match.

Both of them are teams in decline, and the only difference is that Zimbabwe is a tier-2 full member nation which has been in decline for more than two decades, while Sri Lanka is a tier-1 nation whose decline started almost a decade back. This was a home series for Sri Lanka and despite that they were unable to win comfortably against a weak team like Zimbabwe. And the win was mostly due to the lower order batsmen who managed to score runs in crucial situation. Zimbabwe on the other hand can regret about the missed chances.

But then the 7th wicket partnership between Janith Liyanage and Maheesh Theekshana took them home. Liyanage was playing in his second ODI and he showed tremendous patience under difficult conditions. Even after Theekshana got out, the other lower order batsmen (Dushmantha Chameera and Jeffrey Vandersay) managed to dig in and make sure that Sri Lanka wins this match.

It looks like that the Zimbabwe bowlers are very effective against the weak Srilankna batters. Before the 10th over was bowled they got 2 wickets, as the Srilankan batting line up is very weak. The amount of hype Zimbabwe gathered in the first ODI was amazing! As of now they are doing what they hinted. If Srilankna team losses this match it would be a clear indication that they should not be part of the test team squad. As being a test match playing team the board gets more paid by ICC. With so much corruption these guys should be stripped out of the test playing nations.
This is three match ODI series and first match ended without any result. Zimbabwe was on top when Sri Lanka started there innings but in the end Sri Lanka manage to win this game. Sri Lanka were 4 down for just 53 runs but then Anith Liyanage took the responsibility from Sri Lanka side and scored 95 runs, he was unlucky to miss his century by just 5 runs. Though its a win but it shows how down Sri Lankan cricket is at the moment. They can't beat a team like Zmbabwe easily.
Sri Lankan as a good team, their performance is not up to expectations. They lost 4 wickets for just 57 runs and eventually won the match by 8 wickets while chasing 208 runs. Such a poor performance against the small score of the Zimbabwean team certainly does not send a good message.

My prediction for this match was if the target is more than 275 then the match will be competitive and Zimbabwe will have a big chance to win. If the target is less than 250 then the Sri Lankan team will definitely win. After giving Zimbabwe a target of just 209 runs, I was sure that Sri Lanka was going to win the match quite easily. But this is not actually the case. The match was very competitive. The Sri Lankan batsmen were under a lot of pressure from the beginning of the innings due to the good bowling of the Zimbabwean bowlers. Janith Liyanage's responsible batting is the reason Sri Lankan team won. Liyanage collected 95 runs from 127 balls. Even in the last match Sri Lankan batsmen will not be able to win if they bat so badly.
Zimbabwe definitely could have actually won the match easily if they had a little more depth in their batting lineup. Sri Lanka also made things a lot harder for themselves than it should have been. Sri Lanka must have been actually scared of losing. The 8th we get actually fell on 172 if I am not wrong. I was actually surprised to see Sri Lanka win the match from there. I thought that Sri Lanka might actually lose the last 2 weeks and Zimbabwe might actually win. But Sri Lanka and depth. Well, I don't know if I should say they have depth because, at the end of the day, Sri Lanka got saved by lower-order batsmen.
Sri Lanka's top order batted very poorly. The Sri Lankan team lost all four important wickets to collect only 53 runs. If Janith Liyanage was not able to bat well, Sri Lanka would have definitely lost this match. Also the batting of Theekshana, Chameera and Vandersay helped Sri Lanka reach the winning target.
What makes everything worse for the Lankans is that they struggled like this on their home turf against the visiting side who is weaker than them which pretty much says everything about their reputation these days.The old Sri Lankan side which had players like Sangakkara, Jayawardene, Jayasuriya, Dilshan, Vaas, Murali etc was in another league when compared to them.
Sri Lanka should be ashamed of themselves to be frank. They almost lost against a weaker team when the target itself was small on their own turf. They barely won at the end thanks to the tail performing well.
