Rain is adding a lot of uncertainty to this match. If it was a normal 50-over match, then Sri Lanka would be easily in a winning position. But the overs have been reduced, and even more interruptions are expected for the remanded of play. Also, I strongly doubt that the frequent interruptions helped Pakistan in a way, by allowing them to regroup and rethink on the strategy. Although there have been several changes in the Pakistan squad, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammed Haris, Mohammed Nawaz, Mohammed Wasim, Zaman Khan have been included. There are only two changes in Sri Lanka's squad as Kusal Perera and Pramod Madushan are included in the squad. Srilanka has managed to restrict the run rate of the Pakistan team. They are scoring at a rate of almost 4.5 runs an over and we are in the 20th over. Considering that the match is reduced to 45 overs and also there can be another delay because of rain, and if this match is decided on DRS, then Srilanka may have the advantage.
This Asia Cup will be remembered more for its rain than the matches itself. Once again the rain interrupted the match and as per the latest update, the match will resume shortly. However, the match is now reduced to 42 overs a side.
By the way I was wondering if this interruption and more reduction overs will favor Srilanka or Pakistan ?
No doubt, at the moment, the Srilankan team is way ahead in this match and is looking favourites.

Srilanka has managed to restrict the run rate of the Pakistan team. They are scoring at a rate of almost 4.5 runs an over and we are in the 20th over. Considering that the match is reduced to 45 overs and also there can be another delay because of rain, and if this match is decided on DRS, then Srilanka may have the advantage.
Pakistan batsmen are playing very cautiously, maybe they have some confidence loss due to a very bad previous game against the Indian side.

Firstly, Pakistan's opening pair did not play well. Fakhar Zaman returned to the dressing room with just 4 runs. And secondly Pakistan started their innings very slowly. But if they can stay at the crease without losing wickets, they will be able to provide a big target.
Pakistan collected only 56 runs in 12 overs. Abdullah Shafique scored 28 runs off 40 balls. Shafique's strike rate is only 70. Pakistan should score at least 5 more runs per over. However, the pitch does not look batting friendly. If Pakistan can give a target like 250 then I guess they will win. But the Sri Lankan bowlers are in great form. It is difficult to give a target of 250 runs against them in 45 overs.

If a team like New Zealand is facing this issue (losing players to franchise leagues), then you can imagine the condition of teams like West Indies, South Africa and Zimbabwe. The ICC need to come up with a mechanism that is acceptable for all the sides, so that international cricket doesn't get sidelined by leagues.

England was eying for 400 runs but the last few wickets fell very cheaply. But, How good was Ben Stokes in the match, that was some innings from him. With this form, he will be very dangerous in the world cup. New Zealand played poor cricket except for Boul and Phillips no one really stood up to the task. I think, it was score board pressure but still they should have played batter.
Yes stokes is too good with bat and his performance will make England favourite team for world cup. When you play this kind of cricket in ODI then it's almost impossible for opponent team to chase that big target. He really deserve double century and was just 18 runs behind to achieve this milestone.
The main thing is the technique how you play in the pressure time. Two wickets down earlier , In this situation if we see other teams they will set target of 250 and not ready to take risk but stokes did not cared about it and played so positively in own style. Not only he put pressure back on Eng team but also gives a very good target. The last match will be much interesting , Will Eng win the series or again series will be drawn like T20 ?

England's 3rd ODI win was impressive, a huge 181-run victory made England really interesting. England batted first and were all out for 368, but New Zealand came in at the last minute to provide good bowling and took wickets which resulted in England losing all their wickets. But the batting performance of one of England's famous players was the most interesting. He batted exceptionally well. Stokes has batted like T20, which everyone is very happy to see. He scored 182 runs off 124 balls for England, which is impressive. When New Zealand finally came out to bat, the match was badly lost due to the poor performance of the New Zealand batsmen. The New Zealand team lost all their wickets by scoring 187 runs and lost the match against England by a huge margin. England's bowling line was amazing Boult's bowling performance was excellent, and he took 5 wickets single-handedly, leaving the New Zealand team absolutely destitute. This match was an interesting match between New Zealand and England, which England fans were very happy to see.

England won the match yesterday against New Zealand. I also hoped that England would cross the 400 plus but Stockes got out. Stockes and Mallen did a good partnership up to some time but Mallen was out, If you noticed the whole England team without Mallen and Stockes got out on just 10 and 3 rums only. If Stockes did not do many runs then maybe they lost the match but somehow the New Zealand team also did such a poor beating like Pakistan yesterday. They gave their wicket one by one, why one should not hold their wicket , If they played calmly I am sure they would beat the England team.
New Zealand is increasingly looking hopeless. Trent Boult was the only Kiwi bowler who troubled the England batsmen yesterday. I don't have much hope for them for the ODI World Cup, which is less than a month away. Hopefully their bowling will be better once Southee, Henry, Santner and Milne are back to the squad.
