The Sri Lankan team scored enough runs to set a big target for Afghanistan. The Sri Lankan team scored 291 runs with all the batsmen performing well and defending the wicket till the end. But the Afghanistan team fell by one wicket almost at the start as Gurbaz entered the field as the opening batsman but did not perform well. Gurbaz also performed so poorly against Bangladesh that Afghanistan's batsmen are much weaker than the Sri Lankan team. If the Afghanistan team should defend the wicket and stay on the field till the end, then it will be possible to enjoy a good game, and the competition will be full.
Afghanistan gave a very bad performance in bowling and now they are seen doing bad performance in batting too .sri Lankan have taken
Afghanistan by three wickets for 50 run which is a very good victory for Sri Lanka. Afghanistan  R .Gurbaz Zadran and G . Naib have lost their wickets due to their relentless batting .This match is quite tough for both these teams as whoever loses will be out of the Asia cup.

Today, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will meet in a high-voltage Group B match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. By winning the first match against Bangladesh, the Lankans will confirm the Super Four if they win this match. However, Afghans have to do something superhuman to make sure of the Super Four. Who will go to the Super Four depends on the results of the match between these two teams in the last match of the group stage of this Asia Cup.  On the batting friendly pitch of Lahore, the Afghans will have to win first and that will have to be by a huge margin. As a result, the question arises in the minds of many, exactly how big a victory Rashid Khan needs against the Lankans? If the Afghans bat first, then they must score 275 or more runs. Then the Lankans need to chase down at least 68 runs all out in pursuit of the target. That is, if they score 275 runs first, then Dasun Shanaka will have to stop before 207 runs.

The tournament is all but over for Afghanistan. They went down to Bangladesh by a heavy margin, and today they will be facing Sri Lanka at their backyard. They need something superhuman, but unfortunately there is no one in the Afghan team who is capable of doing something similar. We saw how the Bangladeshi batsmen treated Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman with absolute disdain. Pacers were far worse. Fazalhaq Farooqi went for 9 runs per over against Bangladesh. I don't have any hope from the current Afghan side.

In a must win game for the Afghanistan team, they have not started not started the match well. Srilanka have scored 74 runs in 14 overs and lost only one wicket. They have managed to lay a good foundation.

Afghanistan needs to play well as it is a do and die match for them.  Though the chances are very slim but they should try thier level best.
While Sri Lanka's run side is very good, the wicket side is a bit of a disaster. The Sri Lankan team has lost three wickets in 23 overs so far. Sri Lankan batsman Pathul Nissanka scored 41 runs from 40 balls, Dimuth Karunaratne scored 32 from 35 balls, and Sadeera Samarawickrama scored 3 runs from 8 balls. Now kusal mendis is fighting face to face with Afghan bowlers along with Charith Asalanka. Now it remains to be seen how far these two players can take the Sri Lankan team. Sri Lanka's team score so far, 117-3(23)

The score is very good for SriLanka. they gave the target of a 291 score, but Sri Lanka lost 8 good wickets. According to the pitch, The pitch can help to win Sri Lanka. The pitch is good for Sri Lanka because it is another hot day in Lahore, The pitch is drier than two days ago, and the country that batting first can score 250 to 300 at least.

Sri Lanka makes 291 scores with the struggle. It means Afghani bowlers don't want the Sri Lanka batsman to take advantage of this thing. Anyhow, Srilanka give a good target to Afghanistan.

Srilanka has scored 291 runs in their allotted 50 overs.  However, the target for the Afghanistan team is not 291 in 50 overs, but they need to chase this total in 37.1 or fewer overs in order to qualify for the Super 4. This is a very tough target but I think they should go for it and see if luck favors the brave.

I think we will have some big hitting and excitement in the 2nd innings. Either the Afghanistan team will go for the kill or they may lose early wickets in the process.

Indian squad for the World Cup announced!

K L Rahul is back, which order will he bat is uncertain. I think they will not make any changes to the existing opening pair. I feel he will come after Kholi and most probably Kishan will come after him and Iyer after Kishan. Apart from Rahul the team is exactly the same that is currently playing in the Asia Cup. This might be the last World Cup for a few senior players in the team.

@Bureau no surprises here but what concerns me is if the senior’s fail like they did against Pakistan it’ll be very tough for team India and even against Nepal they didn’t really convince me hence I hope that the selectors will rebuild the team immediately post the World Cup. Furthermore KL Rahul form hasn’t been great so I’m not sure if his inclusion will help the team but if he wishes to prolong his career then he better perform as he’s already been given way too many opportunities now.
@Juggy777 just chill bro! You are basically concluding that this team doesn't have a chance. They will do what they are supposed to do, which is win matches. They haven't got a full day/night match in the Asia Cup as the rain has been frustrating  for everyone. It takes a lot of skills like concentration, energy on the game and a strategy to win a match. Didn't you noticed how Rohit played yesterday? It reminded me his days when he was just a young lad trying to get a space in the squad. It is too easy for fans like us to conclude and decide the outcome without even understanding the issues a player faces. We don't even bother to think about other stuffs. They are doing whatever they need to do in order to seal their name in the history book.

Afghanistan V Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat. It seems their decision is correct. Looking at the pitch, batting seems to help a lot. Giving a target of 300 runs on a batting first pitch will not be difficult. Sri Lankan batsmen are in good enough form. However, their performance is very erratic. But the two openers managed to get off to a good start today. Sri Lanka are yet to lose a wicket in 6 overs. Sri Lanka collected 38 runs in 6 overs. It will not be difficult to collect like 320 without losing wickets very quickly.

Srilanka lost their three wickets but runs are coming and seem no pressure on Srilanka batsmens. The way Srilanka playing, i am predicting three hundred easily. 30 overs gone and SRILANKA have 169 runs on the board. The last ten over the more damage will be done. Kusal Mendis is playing in his own style. If he stay at the crease till the end then i hope he will get 150 easily.

Afghanistan's bowlers cannot do well against Bangladesh. Bangladesh easily set up a huge target of 335 runs. Even in today's match, if Afghanistan's bowlers can't do well, they have no chance of winning. Moreover, it is not the case that the Afghanistan team will go to the next round only by winning. Afghanistan will need to win by a big margin if they want to qualify for the next round.

Afghanistan bowling is very bad and they are losing all matches because of the poor bowling. Afg bowlers don't know how to put pressure on opponent team and loss delivery help batsmen to deliver it for boundaries . Gulbadin took 3 wickets and that was a time to create pressure but they not able to slow the run rate. Srilanka is going to give big target and Afghanistan bowlers have no strategy to stop it

Sri Lanka collected 111 runs in 21 overs. They lost three wickets. Both the openers have performed well. The middle order batsmen need to continue this consistency. Only then can they deliver bigger targets.
Sri Lanka lost their first wicket for 63 runs. Opener Pathum Nissanka returned to the fold with 41 runs and Karunaratne 31 runs. Samarawickrama was dismissed for just 3 runs. Kushal Mendis and Asalanka are now at the crease. These two batsmen are batting with enough responsibility. Kushal Mendis scored 25 runs. But the interesting thing is that only Gulbadin Naib took 3 wickets. Also we are not seeing good performance from other bowlers of Afghanistan.

The pairing of Kushal Mendis and Asalanka is getting longer. Kushal remained unbeaten with 43 runs from 56 balls and Asalanka with 24 runs from 29 balls. Sri Lanka now collects 153 runs in 28 overs. If these two batsmen survive at the crease, Sri Lanka will probably be able to collect 300 runs.

Afghanistan bowlers are not bowling well. Gulbadin Naib took 3 wickets with 34 runs in 7 overs. Besides, Mohammad Nabi bowled 8 overs and gave only 29 runs. Except for these two bowlers, every bowler is giving lots of runs. Even an experienced spinner like Rashid Khan conceded 31 runs in 4 overs. I don't see a chance for Afghanistan to win if the bowlers perform like this. Sri Lankan bowlers have played well against Bangladesh in the previous matches.

I think this can be a very destructive combination keeping in mind the Indian conditions and Team India's performance in the home series. Yes, the team is almost the same, and there is a question mark on KL Rahul's batting form, but I think, on his day, he is a match-winner.
Against Pakistan, winning the toss and choosing to bat was not a good decision, looking at the Team practice and familiarization with the condition.

Today is the match between Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan. Sri Lanka qualified for Super 4. No matter if Afghanistan wins this match or not because Afghanistan can't reach Super 4. If Afghanistan wins today's match with a good run rate then tomorrow's match will be played in Lahore, between Pakistan and Bangladesh, and this is the first match of Asia Cup 2023.

If Sri Lanka wins today's match, then the first match of Super 4 will be played between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Smiley

Every game in the Asia Cup can be said to be boring because almost every match is rained out. And yesterday's match, India's game against Nepal ended in DLS method and India won. If there was no rain India vs Nepal would have been a good game and both the teams are great and we could have watched and enjoyed the game nicely. But in every match of Asia Cup, the games are not felt due to such rain and the matches are postponed. That day also the India vs Pakistan match was postponed altogether only because of this bad weather so we are annoyingly having to go through every match in this Asia Cup.
Rain is a natural system and no one can stop it.Due to rain, the result of the match become very boring.whenever the DLS method is used, the chance of the playing team are greatly increased.Yes, they all believe that India is a very strong team, but this time Nepal good performance could have defeated India ,but due to DLS method , Nepal could not defeat India. And the thing is both the teams of India and Pakistan were given one point each. If Pakistan had played the match I was sure that they would have easily beaten India.

Bangladesh team's performance was strange. It was unimaginable that they would play so well. Firstly Miraj will bat in the opening position which was out of Afghanistan's plan. He played very well. Afghanistan's bowling line-up is not weak. They have quite a few experienced and excellent bowlers. However, Bangladesh's batsmen played very well. However, it cannot be said that Afghanistan's bowlers will bowl badly against Sri Lanka. Even I consider Afghanistan as favorites in today's match. I think Afghanistan will win. Afghanistan also have a chance to qualify for the next round if they win by a big margin. But the chances of defeating Sri Lanka by a big margin are unlikely. The Sri Lankan team is not weak either.

It was a sure match that India would beat Nepal and win the match very easily. The target of 230 runs was not challenging for India.  Nepal is still very weak in cricket.  In between they have a game against India which is almost impossible for them to beat India and win the match. Had India continued to play, they would have had to play as many as 35 overs to cross the target, where Nepal collected 230 runs in 48+ overs. Nepal had a worse match with Pakistan and eventually Nepal was eliminated from the Asia Cup by losing today match against india
India defeated Nepal with ease, winning by 10 wickets (DLS) in a rain affected match. I also think With this victory India was guaranteed a position in the Super 4 round of the 2023 Asia Cup. The India team captain Rohit Sharma, played a key role and was named player of the match for his outstanding 74 run undefeated inning against Nepal. It was clear that India outstanding batting ability easily exceeded Nepal 230 run target. Despite showing grit Nepal participation in the Asia Cup came to an end with this game after a difficult campaign that included a difficult struggle with Pakistan.

India would have won the match regardless it was affected by rain or not, but I hope the other important matches are not affected by rain. If we see most matches results by DLS or drawn by rain. It will create a lot of disappointment among spectators.

Both of the Indian batsmen did not lose thier wickets which shows that they are in supreme form. Rohit Sharma with 74 not out was the player of the match. Looking forward how the Indian team plays in super 4 matches.
