A decade back countries like Srilanka & Pakistan had players who had the ability to single handedly win a match for their country. At the moment I do not see such players and will not see them coming unless the respective boards in est heavily on talent grooming.

It is not that Srilanka has bad players. The problem is that most players come only from Colombo region. The SCB needs to diversify it's search for cricket talent. They needs more option and at the moment they are stuck at one location. I agree the players they had earlier cannot be compared with the present lot.
Meanwhile it will be a big shame if Srilanka lost an ODI series on its homeground that to against Afghanistan. Afganistan is still a weaker side than Srilanka.
