2. Sanju Samson doesn't want to bat in those crucial overs when every one knows he is the in form batter.
I freaking hate his guts now, I used to give him benefit of doubts most of time but he fucked up tonight.

He was supposed to take a strike and not rely on a tailender, don't know why he let him play full over and that too crucial 39th over.

Guess he was just playing for records or securing his place in the playing XI.

Exactly the reason why the selectors are not very fond of him. Even as the captain of the Rajasthan Royals, he attracted a lot of criticism for his bias. He insisted on including Riyan Parag over Karun Nair, just because his relation with the latter was not good. Anyway, Samson is just another over-rated guy, just like Siraj and Saini. These guys don't have the capability to guide the team to a win. He really has an attitude problem and his inclusion in the playing XI doesn't do a lot of good to the team bonding.
Well, I still like him as a batter and agreed with the "his attitude" issue but not in context of IPL saga (Riyan Parag vs Karun Nair) as i didn't hear anything about this. I guess it came down to match awareness and you don't expect this sort of thing from any professional cricketer.

Having said that despite all fuckery in the last match I don't buy the notion of fixing, as few here in the thread implying.
Sanju Samson is a able cricketer. There is discussion going around that the previous ODI loss against South Africa is out of fixing. Being the Rajasthan Royals Captain didn't happen by recommendation, but he has been developed on his performance. Many people have personal connect as he resembles the attitude of a neighbour home person.

India vs South Africa, ODI Series
The way they performed in the last T20 match, I must say that they will not go away from this series easily. But it is true that ODI cricket and T20 are not the same. In African cricket team there are 3 or 4 batsman are good enough to score more runs. Especially De Kock, Rossouw, Aiden Markram and David Miller are renowned batsman in the world cricket. I deserve that they will perform well in this ODI cricket.

South Africa bat first and gave an excellent target of 249 runs 4 wickets (40 overs) great batting by David Miller, Heinrich Klaseen and qunitin de kock. India on other hand is not performing well balling and batting both sides.
All of their important players are not playing in this match seems like they are not taking these ODI's seriously.
In a suspicious match which needed to be had investigation what the hell is going to on here Miller and Klaasen done good partnership which give them a good target of 249 runs in just 40 overs match, and they manage to win this match with the help of Indian batting line up which never been in this match for win top four batsmen done enough work for giving good chance of win to visitors and wasted too many deliveries for having their 51/4 in 17 overs is showing how things are going into this match.

Samson and Thakur done good job at the end and India fail to achieve this target in their 40 overs with lost this match by 9 runs Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj were economical in this chase with all others have some punishment from Indian specially Shamsi 89 from his 8 overs.

The innings was good despite the pressure. In yesterday's match, they both should have won for India. In the beginning, Samson wasted too many deliveries but played a good innings in the end. It would have been better if he had taken more of the strike and won the match. In this match, there was no intention of winning though. It would be great if both batters got good game time. Sanju, a right-handed batsman and wicket keeper, heard was dropped from the world cup squad despite all these performances.

Even I agreed about these all points but here we were also waiting for response from few other boards as well as Sri Lanka and West Indies because this is useless series which held just for the help of South Africa and many other points are also showing how things are going to help visitors for winning this series and having their chance for qualifying into ODI WC which is surely no fair for all other qualifiers and this type gesture surely going to be brought many negative aspects in future as well because here a board is involved in this corruption.

Specially when all teams are heading for T20 world cup and South Africa which is good team refuse to play in Australia an ODI but now playing here a useless series which having not positive outcome for hostess as well just they want to give Super League points to visitors for direct qualification another negative tactics from BCCI in this game history.

This entire world cup qualification scenario looks laughable. This is the issue when the ICC can't come up with a proper qualification process where each team has to play the global qualifiers. And I still don't know why South Africa decided to cancel the series against Australia. They could have simply postponed it. For example, they are rescheduling the remaining two matches against Netherlands to March 2023. Why can't they do the same with Australia. Anyway, the win against India will lift them to a very comfortable position within the ODI super league.

BCCI wants SA to qualify for the ODIWC!
1. They dropped easy four catch.
2. Sanju Samson doesn't want to bat in those crucial overs when every one knows he is the in form batter.
3. Lower order throwing wickets by hitting shots which are nothing but lofted catches.
4. BCCI testing with new players in this series.

I would say the main reason for India's loss in this match is their poor fielding and very slow batting. India could have won the match if they had not batted slowly at the beginning of the innings. India scored only 24 runs in the first 10 overs. India would have won the match if Shikhar Dhawan, Gaikwad, and Ishan Kishan didn't waste a lot of balls.

Do you really think that it was unintentional?

If a team scores just 24 runs from the first 10 overs in a 40 over match, where the required run rate is more than 6 runs per over, then it raises a lot of questions. Also, during the last 10 overs in the South African innings, it looked as if the Indian bowlers were not even trying to stem the flow of runs. And India doesn't lose anything from the outcome. West Indies, Ireland and Sri Lanka are the teams that are going to be affected. And I am sure that these teams will closely analyze the match and do the required.

More suspicious activities have taken place during the match, and only one incident makes me not believe on the match fixing. Shardul Thakur doesn't need to score good and even if he have lost his wicket earlier no one gonna rise a question. During the 37th over he made good runs and brought momentum to India, then the consecutive wicket fall have caused India loss the match.
1. Slow start from Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill
2. Poor strike rate from Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan
3. Samson's refusal to take strike during the final overs
There were a lot of red flags in this match, and I have pointed out just some of them. Anyway, Sri Lankans and the West Indians are not going to be happy about the outcome of this match. I am waiting for the reaction from them.
Going through each and every act of the players it is quite evident, but will a country fool it's people with these kind of acts. What you've mentioned have created some questions in me, Rabada conceded 10 runs in 5 overs and later Thakur batted good in his ball. When Thakur is able to bat, why can't the opening batsmen weren't able to perform well. Shame of the cricket boards.

I didn't expect top order experienced batsmen like Shikhar Dhawan, Ishan Kishan and Gaikwad to bat so stupidly. They are talented players. So the team expects really good performance from them. But I didn't think they would bat that badly. If they perform like that stupid, they won't get a place in India squad. Because BCCI has a lot of talented players. So if the players are out of form for a few days, they will lose the chance to play with the Indian squad.

I really don't know about the fixing angle of the match but yes this could have been a win for India, start and middle order batting was slow but toward the last 5 overa match was obviously in India's pocket. When Sanju got out I thought match is over but when it was a no ball I thought now India is invincible but honestly Sanju couldn't do anything after that. The problem he doesn't gets highlighted to the selectors is because he plays such knocks but fails to take India to the win which is very necessary to become hero these days. You have to be a match winner to get attention.

What is going on? Looks like a fixed match. In a match where the the required run rate is greater than 6 runs per over, Shikhar Dhawan made 4 runs from 16 balls. Shubman Gill made 3 runs from 7 balls. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan both had strike rate of less than 50. This is not the way to play, if they actually wanted to win the match. And I perfectly understand if they want to help South Africa with the world cup qualification. Proteas desperately needed a win in this series, and now they got that.
Maybe the openers were trying to get set in batting with a slow start. Unfortunately, they lost their wickets quickly, then the new two batsmen were under pressure for that. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan has played slowly so that India doesn't loss more wickets quickly. However, their slow batting style is a bit questionable. Their run rate was only 3 after 15 overs, where the required run rate was above 6 from the start of the match.

There is something I really don't understand about this. I get it was really hard for India to start. But the number of balls that they took to get set, the number of balls that each batsman wasted was unbelievable.

In the end, India did try to make up the run rate. However, it was too challenging for the later batsmen to handle.

Obviously, it would be a little too much to say that it was a fixed match. In spite of this, the Indian top order had a really poor performance.

But I have to give credit to South Africa. They set a target of 250 in 40 overs. Which is not bad at all. And combined with the bowling that they did at the start of the second innings to get a real grip on the match was really unbelievable. This was the first ODI and South Africa is leading 1-0.

Lol. Sure looks like it. I never expected India to get this close to the target when it looked like South Africa would win comfortably against them thanks to Dhawan and some other players playing like crap.

Samson relying on a tail-ender towards the end was so weird. Indian fielding seriously needs to improve across all formats.

LOL.. there seems to be some sort of a deal between South Africa and the BCCI. Maybe the BCCI will help South Africa to qualify for the world cup. In return, CSA can support the BCCI nominee (N Srinivasan) for the post of ICC chairman. Anyway, South Africa qualifying for the world cup will give more diversity to the tournament. We need at least one team from the African continent. If Sri Lanka fails to qualify, then I don't care much. We already have over-representation from the South-Asian region.

Virtually no beef with Lord Thakur.
