We did not notice a good performance from India in the first ODI match even though they managed to draw that match now Indian fans and Indian cricketers have to look forward to the third and final ODI match. If the third ODI match is a draw or India lose for any reason then they will lose the series so the third ODI match must be taken seriously.

If we compare the performance of these two teams in ODI and T20 formats, we can see that the performance of Sri Lankan bowlers in ODI format has improved a lot. The Sri Lankans did not bowl very well in the T20 matches against India due to which the Indian batsmen were able to score a lot of runs in those matches. However, coming into the ODI format, the Sri Lankan bowlers are able to stop the Indian batsmen, thereby getting the Indian batsmen out within a few runs which is an added advantage for them. The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka was an unexpected draw.Because in that match when India need one run from 15 balls to win then they have two wickets in hand.
Yet they failed to do so mainly after Shivam Dube was dismissed lbw.

Both the teams have one more match left in the ODI series between them.If Sri Lankans win that match then it is going to be one of the worst series for India as they will be whitewashed. And if India wins, the series will be tied 1-1.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill performed well in the second match but the latter failed to turn around. That's why the Indian team failed but the Sri Lankan team performed well in two consecutive matches. Now in only the third ODI match Sri Lanka can win but it will be the most competitive. Because in this case the batsmen of the Sri Lankan team have been patient, but the players of the Indian team have been surprised in two consecutive one-way matches.

I don't understand why a batsman like Kl Rahul was dropped at number 7. In both the ODI matches, we saw poor performances from India. And both the Indian openers performed well in both the matches. Batsmen like Dube, Rahul and Iyer batted very badly.

Indian management should make changes in their squad. Every player in this squad is talented, but the batsmen are not in good form. Also, I don't think it is the right decision to drop Kl Rahul to the seventh position. He is not a finisher. Rahul should be placed fourth.

There was 1 day rest period between first two and in latter 2 is 2 day rest period, I don't think it's that long, rather I feel they should have kept 2 day rest between first two too.

Between this series and the Champions Trophy, Indians are playing a handful of ODI, guess 6 ODIs before this SL's series kicked in.

So, it's alright if they do some experiments. Also, the Match situation matters and a recent change came when the team needed a left-right combination.

Sri Lanka's right arm leg break bowler Jeffrey Vandersay has shown excellent bowling skills. He bowled 10 overs and picked up six valuable wickets for just 33 runs in this match which was in one word unbelievable even as it was his career best spell.

I think that is big success by Sri Lankan team because Indian team is top class team of the World and Indian full strength team is playing in this match. Virat Kohli and Rohit are also part of that team but Indian team lose the 2nd match of ODI series.
