And my avalon 741 ordered on july 21st shipped on aug 27th  and mining since august 3  just died.

I put in a ticket  so to all that feel  this  was bad to be closed you may all be very lucky.

I now have 1 dead 741.

I am a good trouble shooter.

and I used the august 6th order to test the dead July 21 order.

so controller works
all cables work
psu works

leaving  me with a dead daughter board  at best

maybe 2 dead hash boards  and the daughter board

maybe  maybe 2 dead  hash boards and a good daughter board

Would love quick contact for repair parts

Phil, Canaan has images on there git hub off there main support page for A6. They have images for all 3 Pi's (Pi B v2, Pi2, and Pi3) Also I think it was ether Mark az(sp? Huh) or Kilo17 that posted the DHCP enabled Block C A6 image here on the forums from the group buys you did last time during there review.

Sounds right.  I dont use the 6's  sold them last year and I reprogrammed the 721 and 741  over the older rasp pi's

the 6 the 721 and the 741 do not care  what rasp pi you use.  you just need a good image.

@sidehack do you still have any of the PSUs you had planned on selling during the group buy?

Here's hoping.   Wink

they sold out of the 741's

but they have used model 6  .

I owned them  they do 3500gh  they cost  239  they use .3 watts

translation if you have cheap power 5 cents they are good to buy.

I don't think I have a rasp pi image burned for them.  and I don't know what  rasp pi works with them.

ie  the new rasp pi 3 may not work.

I had older models.

fast math on the model 6   they clear about $1.75 a day  with the new diff coming at 1100  price of coin at 3700

I also placed an order with Miner Warez for two 741's. Let's see the ETA.

I checked in with their support and they said orders placed today will ship out on Monday. Can't wait. The nice thing  is they don't seem overwhelmed.

Phil, I saw it but don't say the shipping info. When? any idea?

in theory  it ships next week.

I paid for the one with paypal  six months zero interest.

I am protected  by paypal and don't  worry if it is slow.

I still can't help but feel that we've been screwed over by Canaan. The only reason I bought bitcoins at around the $4700 mark was for this group buy, and by the time Canaan threw us under the bus, it was already too late to sell without making a significant loss. Cry

I thought Canaan were the good guys. Sad

So hold the coin for another week or 2. The exchange rate *will* recover and as long as you didn't buy when it was over around $4,300-4,500 you should be fine.

As for being 'good guys', don't think *any* miner maker ever fit that bill. More like they are the 'better guys'.

The distributor is live, they have sold out of controllers. If you want a unit I would check them out soon.

In the end they are just a company, with limited transparency; no good guys or bad guys. They want to make a dollar and one of the best ways to do that is to oversell your products. Airlines do it all the time, every new iphone is pre-ordered and even then you may get it a month or 2 late. It's the way of business. Hopefully this new distribution system gives canaan the option to breakdown pallets to fill smaller orders as well as provide bulk buys. Time will tell. A lot of us lost money on the price dive, some more than others.

I am in for 2 units with raspberry pi. Live in PA - USA.

Hope I can join this group buy.

This group buy is as dead as a door nail.

No response from Steve of Canaan.io in more then a week.

Yeah it would have been nice if anything had worked out this month. I did see they put out some vague info about a Distributor. Hopefully located in North America, and not charging an arm and a leg for Hardware.
