Just going back over the AMT web page... some cool stuff... What is the reference I see (under power consumption usually) to Turbo mode? Why would you run a miner in anything but turbo mode? What's the point of having a switch? Do some days you just feel like not mining quite so many coins?

If your wallet gets too full, the coins start spilling out on the ground, and are lost.

Glad to help.

An example of typical high-power IC thermal profiles and solutions can be found on the Coincraft A1 chip datasheet, on page 14 and 15.  Usually you'd see this on Power ICs, but mining ICs have been getting pretty high power lately.

http://bitmine.ch/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/CoinCraft-A1.pdf

As for the connector...  good point.  That does look like the USB connector is facing towards the front case fan, although...

http://postimg.org/image/ivjzy7blp/

...in that picture, we can see the USB connector, and it appears there's a little space within the HDD enclosure for cable routing.  Also, the HDD enclosure could be mounted to face either way, so it's likely not an issue.

Great, thanks Biffa, I think I stand corrected on the powersupply issue.
1 down.

And thanks to you as well, Cheshyr, I did not know about the thermal behaviour at the junctions. You seem knowledgeable
on the subject, as far as I know. The video shows a fan attached to the sink, oriented upward, or laying on its side by the end of the clip.
2 down?

Cheshyr, about the 3 connectors -
we cannot see anything more, and the video shows a USB connection at right-angles to the 4-pin molex.
Which would be obstructed by the HDD case. Unless the cards as installed are diff from what is depicted.
The boards depicted somewhere above appear to be from technobit
http://technobit.eu/index.php?id_product=55&controller=product&id_lang=1

and the 3 pin term seems to be used ( by technobit ) for power?

Thank you for your replies.

So if I ordered a 80gh miner from you now how fast would i get it. What kind of warranty do i get you say lifetime but what is the lifetime?  and you say on your site i get miners protection. also if i ordered now would I get the A1 chips in it and not the Bitfury?

1) Although there is plenty of space, the heatsinks are mounted BELOW the sources of heat. wtf?
Many ICs generate the majority of their heat at the junction interface, not the top of the chip.  The boards are expected to use vias and copper pours to transfer the heat away to heatsinks.  The heatsink placement on these boards reflects good thermal design in this case.

3) I dont see any sort of comm bus between the boards or anywhere else.. unless those 3 connector terminal blocks are for some really snappy RS232/422/485...
Those are pretty standard terminal blocks, and they give the end user a lot more flexibility than a custom connector and cable assembly.

I've been watching this thread.

5) Not much air movement from the powersupply fan facing the side of the case... and why not just use the powersupply MOUNT? Is that supply just positioned in the middle of
the case for some reason? to make the case appear full?

That is the powersuply's normal position in that case, its supposed to have the PC motherboard vertically behind it. Like so:

Why the stock mITX cases? Lian Li right? Seems expensive for miner cases, I assume this is just to mock up?

Black:
http://www.lian-li.com/en/dt_portfolio/pc-q08/ (circa $100)

Silver:
http://www.lian-li.com/en/dt_portfolio/pc-q07/ (circa $55)

I've been watching this thread.

Yes, lets hope this is a mock-up because the pictures, as posted leave me skeptical, but way less so than if I had actually fronted some money.
Some flaws, as I see them:
1) Although there is plenty of space, the heatsinks are mounted BELOW the sources of heat. wtF?
2) the HDD enclosure and heatsinks appear to have flakes of aluminum or something shiny... never a good thing to mill and drill near the components, could be mistaken
3) I dont see any sort of comm bus between the boards or anywhere else.. unless those 3 connector terminal blocks are for some really snappy RS232/422/485...
4) how does one comm with the overall device? a NIC or some I can't quite make out?
5) Not much air movement from the powersupply fan facing the side of the case... and why not just use the powersupply MOUNT? Is that supply just positioned in the middle of
the case for some reason? to make the case appear full?
6) pricing... 1.2THs/5999USD
7) no wattage etc specs posted on the site, which is barely operational, except for the 'pay with these methods' part?
Cool most all the commentary and pics up to this point, and yes, I also watched the video.
9) that camera may be the miner, may provide > hashrate than the item behind it

AMT, you guys might take a page out of BTC-e's playbook and advertise 1.2THs for 15-20% lower than anyone else, you'll get a lot more SUCKAs.

-or- PROVE me wrong, I want nothing more that for some additional players to get into hardware.
Again the question will go out there:

ANYONE, ANYONE?
COME FORWARD if you are a satisfied customer, show us the specs, in vids/pictures?

I live and work nearby, so I could possibly stop by, say hi, and vouch for them on the forum if they wanted to set something up.  Maybe a limited preview with some photos and a status update, but no sensitive information.  I don't have a reputation here in the forum, but if we're looking for a 3rd party to 'verify' them...  I could make the trip.

So, AMT, my own emails and messages have gone unanswered as well. I'm within driving radius of your office; are there any units for sale at this time of any capability or hashrate that I could purchase for cash or BTC in person? I'd be happy to post my experience here in the forum as a recommendation, fwtw.

Mine too, i'm waiting to get them in hands.

So many scammers here, that I prefer to get mine personally.

I've been watching this thread for a while and it's good to see the progress you're making.
The pictures you posted don't really show how everything connects up. Is this a USB rig and can regular mining software like cgminer detect the device? Or does this connect to the network via CAT5 like a block eruptor blade?
Also, what size power supply is that in there? What kind of power does each board require?

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Influx was the guy i spoke to yesterday.

he was not claiming to be a rep of yours, merely that he was happy to have bought from you.

now u say the 1.2Th/s rig doesnt even exist yet, so i cant comment what he may have been up to.

as for a mid january tracking number i think i'll pass until i can see at least one verifiable, happy 'not fake' buyer with their rig in hand

i also was 'this' close to paying until i read all this and still no real confirmation. its just too vague

i spoke with some random 'egyptian' dude who said he has been mining a 1.2TH rig of theirs for over a month but no pics...

We've heard about that guy, just like some other guy on Ebay that stole our 1.2th picture and is trying to sell it. We've setup an email a long time for that possible problem and its in our facts section [email protected]  if anyone suspects anything like that email us there or at [email protected] and we will verify if the order is legit or not, very quckly. We've contacted ebay and reported them but its still up.

i dont follow what your trying to say.

he was actually saying you are 'ligit' and that he was ready to buy more....

this thread is the exact opposite of that.

and your posts seem to clarify nothing.

if i pay for a 1.2th TODAY - when will i get a verifiable tracking number?

mid to end of January realistically - but that's cause your late to order man,,

And i'm talking about some arab/egyptian/indian (accent) - im not sure but this man has listed the picture of the 1.2 on ebay and claimed to have purchased a pre-order and is selling it for more. I assumed you were talking about that guy. The 1.2 isnt fully build yet, we're working on it.
