Merged mining brought some new peeps in here!

Welcome all merged mining fans! even if you only plan to stay until your favourite pool brings merged mining online.

We do need all the hashes we can get!

http://pool.simplecoin.us:8337 works for me and was listed on the getting started page give it a try.

Thanks very much for this!  It seems "simplecoin.us:8337" worked before the switch but now "pool.simplecoin.us:8337" is required.

Right, let's see how this pool is coping with merged mining!

I'm surprised by the stats at simplecoin.us which suggest that the pool is doing very well.  I've not been able to connect for hours.  How are you guys able to get through?

I can't connect to simplecoin.us to mine.

None of the following work at all:

simplecoin.us:8337
simplecoin.us:80
74.117.62.208:8337

I am able to ping simplecoin.us and can browse the site.

Fair warning... I'd add a backup pool. I'm doing much testing on the merged client and poolserverj. There will be restarts, and even crashes likely.

Thanks for the warning, my backup pool is mineco.in.  Indeed, I got booted off of the testing server a little while ago and was automatically pointed to mineco.in.  I'm fully aware that this is a test pool and I know not to expect any return while I'm using it.

I'm relying on your server logs to find any serious problems but I'll certainly be keeping my eye on my miner for the next few hours anyway.  Aside from one of my cards actually running cooler than my CPU everything looks healthy to me right now.

It's a live test server. If a block is found, it's counted towards the PPLNS BTC pool.

I've been testing with 74.117.62.208:8337 for a few hours now.  The reported hashrates for my workers at simplecoin.us don't seem to have changed.

Code:
[348.75 Mhash/sec] [1342 Accepted] [0 Rejected] [RPC (+LP)]
[369.46 Mhash/sec] [1345 Accepted] [0 Rejected] [RPC (+LP)]

It's too early to say much about the stales but it's certainly looking good (my ping is around 150 ms so 0 rejects in 2700 shares is better than average).  I'll leave this running overnight.

getting all sorts of RPC errors for the btc pools.

Edit: it seems to be BTC prop and tbx

GG is still up

The prop server locked up.... but without any alerts. It is back up now.

Along with merged mining, I'm also testing poolserverj. So far it is outperforming pushpool, but it is a bit more resource intensive. I'm likely to to switch completely if all goes well.

Thanks! are all the pools running on different physical servers?

No, there are 2 pool servers currently.

1 for BTC & GG, 1 for TBX and testing (Merged & Solidcoin currently)

Merged Mining is ready  Shocked

Anyone who wants to test it can point to 74.117.62.208:8337. Results will show up in the BTC PPLNS pool for now.

Obviously no NMC will be mined yet, but I'd like to see how the new client behaves.

If the live test goes well, I'll be switching to the new client for all the BTC pools just before the switch.

I've just started testing.  Things seem to be running smoothly but I'll leave it for a few hours and report back.

The "Last 5 Blocks" table is throwing up BTC as the currency quite a lot.

I wish it were true. I'll look into it.

I too. I too. Smiley

It's fixed. It was getting confused on network block number. So I enforced a currency check.

All better.
