Litecoin mining should be available now. Please use 69.64.75.10:9327 until the DNS issue has been resolved.

CHEERS!
Just as a heads up, the dns issue is fixed.

Hey guys!

Just realized something! pool.p2pmining.com and ltc.p2pmining.com weren't working as they should've been. This was my error as I forgot to change the HAProxy shit over to the new ip. This is now fixed.

My Apologies,

Looks like I needed to confirm my request to change the DNS entry. It should go through tonight and fix some of the problems people are having. Try using the new ip address 69.64.75.10:9332 to mine bitcoin until the dns gets updated.

Thanks

Alrighty guys. I'm currently waiting on JayCoin to let me know whether or not he modified the p2pool node to only serve diff1 shares. As soon as he gets back to me, I'll fire her up.

Sorry for the continued downtime.

Veddy

Bitcoin/Merged Mining pool is back up. Litecoin will be up tomorrow.

Hi guys, semi-noob here. I've been mining on P2pool for a few weeks now and decided to give this a try as I believe it's more suited to my small mining setup. Are you up and running again yet?

Peace.

Patman,

I'm on break at work but i anticipate that JayCoin and I will have p2pmining.com back up by 10pm in the GMT-5 timezone.

Update for you guys, a few things happened with my paycheck so it took longer than expected. Waiting on the datacenter to install the os and will post when all the chains have started downloading. Thanks guys for your continued patience.

Veddy

UPDATE: All blockchains are in the process of downloading. Will Update as soon as the chains are done.

UPDATE: Blockchains are still in the process of downloading unfortunately. I will bring the pool back up tomorrow once the daemons have completed their downloads and JayCoin has re-setup the ip for ns1.p2pmining.com. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

UPDATE: All wallets have been swept to the new wallets as the old server has already exited the p2pool scene on both LTC and BTC. Below are TXIDs for the transactions moving the coins to their new wallets. Smiley

LTC TXID: 7c2df081307bf63d475b6acd2a19ddd5578ef7786273c85e444d40a703eff273

DVC TXID: 1c3ecafe09528c24e893ed85a35183c10735503cabfb4162798064e7b5312463

IXC TXID: e604de35db7593c6ebfac37837694d8b99456632683cd3c71d04c38d7244692a

I0C TXID: 3f63fb18eca954fae4213175c97e6d928a7fb652d25b388348dbdfc1dc1d15ac

BTC TXID: 3aef8be485b229a5578d250d29cb57fdd00e25de7e66f001e399c7685eb78c9d

NMC TXID: b873c6321f21ff41aabffdd79e034835a509fc6904ad8c8ab4d3cf67d84ffc88

Blockchains are still downloading but I will be working on the pool tomorrow morning. Again, I apologize for the extended downtime.

Just as a reminder: P2Pmining.com WILL BE going offline starting at roughly 5pm (GMT-5) today (10/25/12). PLEASE make sure you have failovers set. I'm hoping to have the new system up on Friday the 26th by 10pm (GMT-5 yet again). The new 0.7.1 Bitcoind version is going to be installed as will p2pool v8 which i will have to modify to make it only serve Diff1 shares.

Also, we're going to be switching out the wallets to protect the security of the wallets. All the current funds in terms of merged-mining will be swept into the new wallets by sending a transaction from the old wallets to the new ones. Once p2pmining.com is confirmed to be outside the p2pool sharechain, we will be sweeping the BTC balance into a new wallet as well. For Namecoin, Bitcoin, and all the other chains we provide service for, I will post a txid for the transactions. I am not sure if Devcoin, ixcoin, and i0coin have block explorers but most likely the daemon itself can verify functionality. I will also post the output from the new wallets for the getinfo command to the daemons.

NOTE FOR OUR MERGED MINING USERS: You will NOT have to re-register your merged-mining addresses. ALL addresses for merged mining will be kept in the database.

Thanks for the support guys! I REALLY appreciate it and I'm sure JayCoin does as well. Smiley

Veddy

Sorry guys. Going to shut it down a little bit before 5pm. In fact, I'm shutting her down right now as i type this.

Veddy

EDIT: Pool is now down until further notice. Will post when it comes back online Smiley

Just use username/password the same way you would with p2pmining, and use the same payout address with all of them if you use multiple ones.
That way, you just pick up where you left off since they all share the share list amongst themselves. (not the same share list p2pmining uses, as they are a custom node Smiley )

-- Smoov

But this will NOT add to p2pminig prize! It will be paid to address you put as username directly form p2pool block!
Of course!

That is why I'm not suggesting them to be used as a substitute/replacement for p2pmining... just as failover for when p2pmining has its downtime. (and why I mentioned that it isn't the same share list p2pmining uses)

From my own experience, if you're primarily mining a p2pool-like pool, then your failovers work better if they are also p2pool-like.

Whenever I had BTCGuild as my failover for my own p2pool mining, I kept getting issues. Using p2pmining as my failover now works just fine.

Probably due to the rapid share frequency.

Smoov, if you can get me a list of questions for the faq page as well as answers to those questions, I'd be happy to try and code that in for you. Smiley
Yeah, give me a few days yet, I'll have something put together.

Some more info for everybody: i will be shutting the pool node down tomorrow night (10/25) at 5 pm (GMT-5). Please make sure you have failover pools in place. Server will come back online most likely on the 26th. Latest expected reonlining date is 10/28 If not by 10 pm on the 26th
If any of you need a public p2pool node to add to your failovers and tide you over while p2pmining is down, there is a list in this thread here.

P.S. the client used to create the signature is ALWAYS the bitcoin client. Only thing you need to sign is the bitcoin client and an address of an altcoin chain.
Yeah, some hunting around and I figured that out...

I did notice that there wasn't a similar feature for an alternate payout address for LTC like there is for BTC. If you do implement that, I'll be making use of it. Cheesy

i don't care how often i get paid, and if i want a payout "i hit the payout button"
There's a payout button?

nvm... I found the menus... finally...

been holding off for months to add p2pmining as a failover until I could see how things are done... not knowing, how things were done... finally just added it... and NOW I get menus...

that one bit of info on the faq page, would have been a big help.

still don't know about signing yet, but so far so good. think I have figured out this part too.

-- Smoov

ps: hey JayCoin... mind if I put together a text file with Q/A of these couple/few things, together, and send them to you, for you to paste onto the FAQ page? (since I just worked through it all as someone who didn't know WTF had to be done to get going with p2pmining? Cheesy )

Smoov, i apologize for the lack of a FAQ Page. Was most definitely a priority until real life decided to be a bitch to me. If you are willing to help with that, I'd definitely appreciate it. Send me a pm and I'll get it added.

Thanks,
Veddy

Would  someone  PLEASE

Put the instructions of how to set/change your payout addresses on the FAQ page of the website?

I asked for this a couple months ago already, and that damned page keeps saying "Soon"...

Can that PLEASE be made something of a priority!?

Trying to hunt it down in the thread is a real pain.

Preferably written for someone who has never signed a thing through the daemons in his life, and how to set one for a coin they don't have a local daemon for. (like DVC, for those of us windows people who still don't have a DVC binary available)
