Add -L bfg.log on to the end of the parameters in the shortcut - that'll run a log file (it'll be in the bfgminer folder).  You'll be able to see what's happening from the log.

My shortcut command is:
Code:
C:\bfgminer321\bfgminer.exe -S erupter:all -G --http-port 8330 -L bfg.log

The pools, etc are set up using the TUI and saved to bfgminer.conf once BFG was up and running.

Anyone know if there's a way I can bundle a PIF or such that tells Windows to never just close the console when it exits with non-zero status? :/

Hi

Can help one help me on how to get my 12 blades to connect to the BFGMiner, Cheers

Run bfgminer with the --http-port 8330 parameter, then point your Blades to the IP of your machine, making sure each Blade has a unique username/password.  The username/password isn't important, it can be anything as long as it's unique.  Once the Blade is connected, it'll appear as a SGW device.

If you take a look at my log a few posts back, you should see what to expect.

Cheers for the reply, When I run the parameter the program just opens then closes within about half a second, Am i doing something wrong ? I created a shortcut for the file.

Cheers

WoW64 is standard on all 64-bit Windows (even XP 64-bit Edition has it!).

Hi,

Was just looking for a basic setup guide.

Noticed that it will not work on my 64bit machine Sad

I take it there s no possible way to run this on 64bit ?

Currently running the  Stratum Proxy but keeps crashing on the clean_jobs=False causing all my blades to restart every 2mins

How's everyone else running there blades ?

Cheers
If you have WoW64 (you probably do!), you can run Win32 applications with only minimal performance overhead.

Check out the posts between HeldiverUK and Luke-jr. They are covering a lot of ground on this.

If 3.1.4 is working ok for your system, then there is no great need to upgrade.

3.2.1 will benefit users of multiple different devices.

Edit.
The simplest command line for erupters is:-  bfgminer.exe -o http://stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u MINER -p PASSWORD -G -S all

-G stops your GPU
-S all     finds your erupters

The need for other switches are listed in the README file

As promised.  BFG crapped out three times before it worked with both Blades at the same time.

As said, it's Win7 Exnterprise x86 on a Celeron 847 NUC.  No other software on the machine, other the BFGMiner 3.2.1.

which will be the best using the sticks as comm ports or using the other way as usb1 usb2 etc?
Same thing. \\.\COMn is Windows; /dev/ttyUSBn is Linux

Odd problem with build of latest from git ...

Being a few versions behind, thought a bit of upgrading was in order ... built from source as before, same option, seemed to all go through as expected, but failed to start (or started and quit) as no 'screen' for me to switch to.

My startup script is
Code:
screen -dmS BFG /home/bitcoin/bfgminer/bfgminer --config /root/.bfgminer/bfgminer.conf -S all
which was fine with 3.1.3 - Started: [2013-08-16 23:43:51] - [  34 days 20:52:08]

latest version just 'stops' with
Code:
[2013-09-20 20:38:27] clDevicesNum returned error, no GPUs usable

without the -S all it starts and works, but doesnt find any of the USB-BlockErupters (only the BFL Singles)
with the -S all it fails

dmesg finds all the USB's ok

bfgminer -S all -D -d?
finds everything it should - snippet:
Code:
 [2013-09-20 20:40:06] Found ICA43 at /dev/ttyUSB45
 [2013-09-20 20:40:06] ICA43: Init: baud=115200 work_division=1 fpga_count=1

 [2013-09-20 20:40:06] BFL: Attempting to open /dev/ttyUSB19

But it simply wont start with the -S all and without it sees no Block Erupters

Anything else I should be trying to debug the situation ?

You have a report line with "[2013-09-20 20:38:27] clDevicesNum returned error, no GPUs usable"

Give it a -G

so i actually need 5A since each usb pulls 0.5A ?
Plus a bit more for the hub itself...

so how much does each erupter actually pull surely not 0.5A?   bah. i'll get a 6A psu tomrrow or another usb hub
Yes, they use the full 0.5A.

... and don't assume a hub that only includes a 1A power supply can handle more!

i kinda suspected this. although 5 sticks ran fine for a month so far but alas 6 to 8 broke the camels back lol

Blades aren't being restarted, just using the Switch Server function (the backup server are to a stratum_proxy running on my WHS.
I'll likely need the crash report (printed to standard error, or log file if one is configured) to do anything.

I'll sort out a log for you tomorrow.  Smiley

I've never been able to start my erupters without a -S 'erupters:all' switch

My command line:

/usr/bin/screen -dmS M bfgminer --no-submit-stale -S 'opencl:noauto' -S 'erupter:all' -c /etc/miner.conf
