TIA

No.  It doesn't sound like you are doing this inside the BFGminer window.

Just do S W ENTER inside the BFGminer window after removing the pools you don't want using P R - let it re-write the default file, don't try to help it by entering a file name or extension.  If you do that, it should overwrite whatever file it is that you keep picking up.

I have done what you have suggested and next time I start bfg I get the same result.  After this failed I tried to update it in windows as described and that didn't work either Sad

Should I  delete and start the config file again from scratch?

Thanks

So, I've amended the bfgminer.conf file removing the pools I don't want and saved it using all files and the .conf extension and yet the pool still appears when I restart bfg.

do I just have to amend each time i have to restart bfg?

I read all the applicable readmes. None of them seemed to address my question, or maybe I just missed it.
I tried the 'G flag, but it just caused BFG to crash without starting.
Besides, I want to disable the GPUs, not CPU.

Use -S opencl:noauto

quick question Luke,

I`ve set up my BFG just how I like it, and saved a config with default name, however when i restart bfg it still comes up with the pools I want to remove.

any ideas?
bfgminer 3.1.4 changed the default storage location for the bfgminer.conf file.

windows or linux?

I`m in Windows 7

Thanks

Yes - there is a readme file.  In fact there are several.   Add -G to disable the cpu.

bfgminer.exe -o pool -u user -p pass -S bitforce:all
should get you up and running

Wow, very cool, thanks!
I assume it's better to use a conf file to config BFG vs setting from within the GUI, right?
I finally figured out how to disable my GPU from mining, as it was adding it by default. *EDIT: No I didn't, it keeps coming back online every time I restart BFG. :/
Is there a setup guide somewhere that discusses all the various settings and what they do?

CCNA: There i fixed the internet.
bfgminer 3.1.4 changed the default storage location for the bfgminer.conf file.
Err, no it didn't... O.o;;
my mac stores it in ~/.bfgminer/bfgminer.conf

used to be stored in ~/bfgminer.conf

O.o

Ok, I feel stupid, maybe it's just been a really long day...

I'm planning to switch my BFL Jalapeno from Easy Miner to BFG, but I can't seem to find the "how-to" for setting up a Jally on BFG.
I know it's here somewhere, but my sleep-deprived brain cannot find it right now.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I'm running Win7 x64, and will be mining with EMC pool, if that matters.
Thanks in advance!

A question, though. What's that DEAD MMQ? I only have 2 Block Erupters running on this system.
Using -S erupter:all ?

Side note: any idea what other serial device is in your PC?

Ah, no. Just -S opencl:noauto -S all

Using erupter:all fixed this (in addition to showing BES instead of ICA, and Identify appearing in the Manage list). Other devices are: mouse, keyboard, webcam, iPhone, internal cardreader, internal docking hub.
hmm, I wonder if iPhone appears as a MMQ somehow...
