Yes, I know several bitcoiners older than 40 years, but I don't think it is something relevant, it is just the natural consequence of the increased adoption of this altcoin in modern society. If we want a larger acceptation of bitcoin as an ordinary currency and payment processor, we also need bitcoiners of all genders, ages or nationalities.

If you want to know you can making a polling, but i think it's just a little percentage the older people is following the signature campaign or become their participant.

to me there is no bane on any one to earn bitcoin, it is the right of the young and old, male or female to earn bitcoin, to be the old people have more opportunities to earn bitcoin because they can give more time bitcoin as compare to young people who have to fulfill their day duties and after that they will give time to bitcoin.

Hello guys,do anyone here know's some old person's who actually make bitcoins by investing them or i dont know,by signature campaining ?
I was wondering about it for some time,i just never heard about someone older than 45 years and making bitcoins.

According to survey made by Coindesk in 2015 around 20% of Bitcoin users are older than 45. I personally know two guys older than 45 who are using Bitcoin and one of them even going to open a poker site. I believe Satoshi Nakamoto is older than 45 btw.
oh wow thats a lot, though we still cannot know how accurate those results actually are, and i doubt that satoshi was that old, i think it was a young person like 19 to 25 years

Good guess. Good trivia if ever that's true.
I also believe that Satoshi is kind of old. No one with a young mind could ever make what Satoshi has made.

Well, if we go for statistical analysis of distribution of bitcoin users on their age wise, we can conclude almost from all the age group we will have bitcoin adopters. In my personal opinion, age is not a concern for showing our interest on new technological improvements. But I agree, young people are very eager to test new things whereas bitcoin is already 6+ years old to attract any age group.

I think there is no age limit in earning in bitcoin there is no rules that if you old at 45 you can not gain income in bitcoin and also blockchain can not detect if how old are you because they not required to put your birthday before you enter in bitcoin community.
Exactly, I really do agreed with what you said, and that's the good thing about in Bitcoins. Our identity is very safe and secure, isn't? Even for  a kids is open also, if some of the age below 18 years of age as long as they understand what bitcoins is, they are welcome in this field too. I will be if many of the old people will participate int his kind of field industry in Bitcoin. Wink
Yeah, there is no age bracket required in able to engage in bitcoin as long  as you have the knowledge about it then theres no problem with that. No matter how old are you it doesnt matter since bitcoins  one of the  best characteristics is its  anonymity and no one  could recognize or even know your name  and age also.

I know some people here with aes ranging from 30 to 40.
Old people provably have a more stable way of earning bitcoin rather joining a signture campaign to spam the forum. LOL.
Maybe the old ones have their own company now. They may even have their own savings already to not need to work for money anymore. Cheesy
Old people still need a way to make money since their pensions can not support them any more.
You must of heard of people working until they are into their late 60's and no retiring haven't you?
People no matter how old they are always looking for a way to make money so they can survive at times really.
Yeah your right, Instead of enjoying life of their age its not happening nowadays, and its a saddest part actually. As far as I can see Bitcoin is a good thing for the older people. why? because Bitcoin is amuses everyone also the community realize that with this thing they do more better than they did before once they find the advantage of having a bitcoin. Smiley Smiley

Indeed, It really amuses me a lot while doing bitcoin. I'm wishing that one day there will be a special project to all 60yrs old and up that  there gonna have a weekly pension by means of bitcoin to all senior citizens. But I don't know how are they're gonna do that. It could be through investing in different bitcoin mining sites. What do you think?

A few of you actually made some intelligent posts and gave counter-examples to the premise that "old people don't use / can't learn bitcoin." But the vast majority of posts were made by people with their heads up their asses. The amount of generalization, stereotyping and just plain stupidity is bewildering. I read all 11 pages and was going to post quotations from every page but gave up about halfway through. Didn't bother to correct the original typos and bad grammar.

- you don't see any old people around the forum
- they are just use bitcoin to gamble online
- older people tend to not do anything, they do literally nothing
- I don't think they would want to earn bitcoins
- the old folks likely wont even understand it
- the only people over 45 that are messing with Bitcoin are broke and desperate to make a few bucks because they were too stupid to put away money for their old age
- if you'll talking about 60+ years old I guess it's impossible to them to entered this business or joining Sig campaign
- elderly people dont really want to earn money or something,
- they usually go to church,go for a walk watch TV and that is basically their whole life
- they have very limited activities as compare to the young ones. they young people have to do their job or to give time to their business
- they are still holding there bitcoin to make a profit .. just to hold it and sell when the price of bitcoin is getting high
- I don't think that they are the ones who directly manage their investments. They are too old to understand. They may have someone who helps them maybe a younger friend or their kids
- I don't think there are people older than 45 know bitcoin. it's just my prediction

Really? Well, I'm by by far the oldest person by a long shot on this forum right now, and you have no idea how hard I work. Most of you would wither under my circumstances. And yet I still make / find time to learn about bitcoin and emerging fintech. I also know more about bitcoin than most of you. And I'd venture to say I own more bitcoin than most of you. (Plus I've invested in 6 other crytocurrencies.) My whole life isn't going to church, going for walks, and watching TV. I don't hold bitcoin just so I can  sell when it's high. And I don't gamble with it. (Gambling is for suckers.) When I buy it I keep it. Furthermore, I'm not rich. I manage my own investments, which are almost all digital assets. And frankly, when I try to talk to young people about bitcoin, almost none of them have a clue what I'm talking about. A few here and there say something like, "Yeah, I've heard of it before." I wonder why there's such limited knowledge among the young people I talk to? Should I conclude the following:

- they spend too much time watching stupid Youtube videos to get involved with bitcoin
- they spend too much time taking selfies and adoring themselves
- they spend too much time on Facebook or Instagram or texting while walking or playing Pokeman Go
- they're lazy slackers who don't value education and continued learning
- they can't even put together a coherent sentence, so how could they understand the complexities of cryptocurrencies or blockchain technology?

You get the point. Think before you speak, people. If you don't see a lot of "old people" around the forum, at least part of the reason might be that there's not much worth reading here. It smacks of middle school conversation.

And now to the OP's question regarding signature campaigns. What a colossal waste of time! Why would I spend my valuable time churning out posts just to crawl up some stupid food chain so that I can earn nickels and dimes? There are better ways to make money and invest in BTC.

I think most old people would think of Bitcoin as a new generation thing. I highly doubt that they would be interested in such things.

But there are quite a few exceptions. I have a couple of relatives who are over 45 and invest in Bitcoin.

Smiley

Maybe some just dont know what bitcoin is yey. We know some old people just want news in television or newspaper. If we can manage to reach that kind of advertisement then it might also reach them.
