Rebuilt and restarted bitcoind, it had a steady memory leak and was starting to eat into swap and slow responses. That said, the outage should have been around 1minute.

That said, even with a memory leak it ran for a good couple of weeks without a restart.

The kicker is that they will all be separate pools, with separate payouts.... There is no way to allow all 3 in one pool as the pool would hemorrhage coins.

UPDATE: The new block info is in place. Unfortunately some of the blocks were combined in archiving, others haven't been archived.

I'll be working on getting the future data in each block cleaned up so we have better stats moving forward.

While I'm all for choice I see two problems with this:

  • The mining resources will be split and everyone will experience increased variance.
  • The proportional payout system is quite complicated and requires much more overhead.  If you have the server resources to handle it then fine but I think it's important to let people know what pool-hopping is and give them links to the appropriate threads and software.

Hopefully, it will draw others to the pool. I assume most of our current base enjoys lastNshares.

As for overhead, proportional payout is even less overhead than lastNShares (db size is smaller, less range scans). I'm aware that proportional will increase pool hopping, but it won't affect the lastNshares pool as it will be separate. By default, miners will be set to lastNshares.

Additionally, if the overhead is significant, I just scale up the servers.

How about bringing up solidcoin pool so users can withdraw their unconfirmed coins.

This is rediculous.

The pool is up. If there was an outage it corrected itself. I'm looking into the logs now.

I don't see an outage in the logs either, or even the monitor restarting a locked service.

As soon as I finish up the block stats, I'm off to give the site a massive new feature set....

Multi-coin, multi-pool. Your choice of pool (prop, pplns, smpps), your choice of coin (btc,sc,etc). All with one interface, one mining port, and no required fees.

Wouldn't that allow hopping? Actually, if you allow changes from Prop to PPS people wouldn't even have to leave your pool to hop! SmileyTongue
This is a good point! It could be combated by not allowing a change mid block! Wink

Well, you could still hop to another pool Tongue

Sounds great! I can't wait to see the implementation!  Cool

Agreed... onion stats are not very useful. Share counts per round, and more importantly, per payout are much more important.

Yes, the onion stats are buggy as can be. I think I'm just going to toss it, as it's just a heavy sql calc that displays nothing overly useful.

In it's place I may put share counts per round....

Share counts per round sounds cool.  I still like the idea of lowest stales per round (I bet we'd see some significant variation even among the top miners), but you'd have to filter out a lot of users because any user with shares under 2000 say for a current ronud will have an unreliable stales percentage.

Perhaps the best would be a top-10 share counts per round table but with a column for their stales too, or adding a stales column to the top-30 hashrates list.

How do you figure that the thread title should be changed from 50 Gh/s to 60 Gh/s when in reality the pool's hashrate seems to have dropped from 30 Gh/s to 25 Gh/s?  Was there a surge of hashing power at one point?

I'm glad we finally found a block.  Thanks loth!
I particularly like how blocks get found about difficulty/2 shares after a chunk of people have lost faith in the pool.  I got more than 1.2 BTC for my 732 Mh/s Smiley

If you take your expected daily income and multiply it by the estimated time to find a block, You are roughly where you're supposed to be!
Also, it seems to me, he is adding the two pools together!
Last night, BTC pool was at 30Gh, and the SC pool was at 35Gh!

Agreed, overall the expected payout is the same as I should get from solo mining (less block transaction fee reward, donation percentage, and stales).  I was just commenting on the misfortune of the many who appeared to have joined the pool shortly after our 3-block day and then left about a day before the next block.

What I'd like to know...is how NEXUS has 250%, and antares has 800% stales? Then I saw on the lifetime stats, antares had -6 shares! I guess he was just giving back Cheesy

Damn!  I sometimes complain about bad luck mining but I've never had a day mining which resulted in me owing BTC.

Lol! I know!  Cheesy
A bug perhaps? I know the top 10 onions hasn't changed in a few rounds, in either pool!
